asterix y obelix were famous for the past generation like 60-30 years old, i doubt young people know who they are now they even got removed them from the main news paper here years ago

We only know them by name(some people). But most people have never read one comic with those characters

My dad has a whole collection of these comics, I used to read them as a kid. The jokes are easily understandable if you have a basic history education.

My childhood.
They aren't very famous in here but I remember watching them a lot as a kid, some other people did too.

Yes, I used to watch the cartoons when I was a Kid.

>In Europe they are very famous.

if you're 30 years old.

My fave comics

Go fuck yourself

We have re runs of them during every school holidays. I know them by heart but they're still pretty comfy.

Everyone know them. I'm 20 and I would be very happy to watch their movies

>if you're 30 years old.

>There are people on this board born in the 90s

Disgusting desu...

hoo boy i think is the other way around kek

I love them. Based Uderzo

Very popular at least in Quebec. They play the cartoon movies every Christmas holiday here (dont know why). Im only 18 but I've read every comic and watched every movie.

Though Asterix is not famous here. I'd say only very well educated people in Brazil know them.

tried it, can't reach it for a couple of inches.

I'm 26 and asterix, tintin and TV hanna barbera characters were already old for my group age; I remember watching dragon ball, Oliver & Benji, Seinto Seiya on TV. On comics marvel and DC comics completely owned the market. Asterix, spirou and our national Mortadelo y Filemón were rare as fuck.

>Asterix, spirou and our national Mortadelo y Filemón were rare as fuck.

No they weren't.

t. born 1990

I'm 24 and remember watching all of those

If you didn't watch this cartoon as a child you missed out big time

I was born in the 90 and i know them

I grew up with both Asterix and Saint Seya dragon ball and all, my cousin that's 8 watched Tintin and Astérix on national television.
Yes it was old back in the 90s, it doesn't change that it's still popular.

wrong vid

Never heard of it before coming to Sup Forums

^ This. Mostly because people either watched the movies or the cartoons.

However, it's not rare to see the comics in libraries. They are always being reprinted every so often (thanks to Editorial Planeta). In fact, I'm buying the collection.

I remember it being in Cartoon Network but it never caught my attention. Now I'm reading the comics and realized what I have missed. But my younger self wouldn't have been able to appreciate Tintin like I do now.

See

...

I used to like them when I was a kid

Now I understand that these fuckers deserve to be killed.

I didn't watch the cartoon (other than The Twelve Tasks of Asterix) but I loved reading the comics when I was in elementary school

t. 1992

I've read the comic and I think there was a cartoon too when I was a kid, I loved it

I'm french canadian and its extremely well known. My grandpa owns all the books and I read 3-4 everytime I go to see him.

I don't know a single fucking thing so obviously they're not that great.

One of the best comics I've read

I have all the books, I have watched all the movies, I love them.

Yeah I fucking loved those comics as a kid. A&O and Tintin were the hot shit at school

I got a lot of the roman jokes and the shit in that one where they went to england, but that's it. I'm sure I missed a lot

I don't know how it works in Spain but here we have Italia1 and they play those shows at least once per year.

>watching them
Pleb

>re runs of them during every school holidays
Those are books that you read, not that you get "reruns" of, you silly girl.

I like the cartoons. They're pretty great.

hell yeah we know them

Surprised at all the South Americans that know it. Don't you guys have your own media

i'm 25 and i read Astérix adventures since i'm 6.

We call the witch doctor as "Panoramix"

Goscinny was a terrific comic writer, his humour has the ability of appealing to all ages and much of his work contained relatively high brow satire.

What Uderzo tried to do after his passing with the scripts does not even begin to compare.

Who /Petite Spirou/ here?
How did frenchies got away with those comics?

>Witch doctor

He is a druid not a nigger.

W never shamed sexuality in France. And it's considered healthy for kids to have poppy love and be interested in a woman's body.

Le Petit Spirou is way more funny that the "regular" Spirou 2bh

Spirou is just discount Tintin anyway.

We have a theme park centered around the Astérix universe but it's kinda old now and would require more maintenance than they are giving it

it's also full of arabs and niggers (il parait)

me as a kid tBh

Bienvenue en France.

hot

...

dire que mon père a acheté ces BD là quand il était plus jeune... elles sont dans la bibliothèque kek

>Finding Fluide Glacial as a 12yo kid
Much better than porn.

HMMMM

sauce?

found it I knew I already see those traits before

Thank you I was looking for it aswell.

this

>what my kids will find next to Idées Noires

LOL

Yes, and? At least here in Argentina, that doesn't change the fact that local comic characters like Mafalda, Patoruzú or Clemente are still more popular and well know than Asterix & Obelix.

I'm 20 and I know who they are, they're one of my most fave comics.

...

i'm 25 and i know them too well

these days there are even people on this board born AFTER the 90s

That's entirely possible. I was 16 when I first came to Sup Forums 10 years ago.

>being to dumb to spot an obvious troll

People born in 1990 are 26 or 27 by now, so anybody born before would be older than that hence is an obvious shitposter.

This remindse about this movie

I've heard Asterix en Corse is getting a movie, any French bro can confirm?
It's my favourite story, mostly because, being Sardinian, the Corsican stereotype works really well for us

It works well for many of the big islands of the Mediterranean. The stereotypes displayed there we have for Cretans.

Asterix also had Japanese version of manga, but it is not famous at all in Japan.

Im from india & we had a few asterix comic books, I was around 4-5 years old then and we just started learning english so while I could read the text I didnt understand it.

Who really cares at that age though, watched tmnt, voltron, gi joe, 3 centurions, duck tales.

...

Read pretty much all of the comics, fucking loved them.

Je suis un marchand de boeufs....

>Do you understand their jokes?
yeah them romans were crazy
