I don't see anything wrong?

Is that really all the railroad they have?

are you kidding ?

yes kek

USA has one of the best railroad networks in the world.

It's just optimized for cargo, not passengers

>not passengers

that's the problem i'm pointing out

They had much more railroad until the 40/50s when they started to cut it because using cars and trucks became mainstream. Anyways that's only passenger railroads. You know, in a huge country like USA having an extensive passenger railway system makes a HUGE deficit. It's very different from micronations like yours

You're both fucking dumb

>What's wrong with the USA

sorry, not enough thread for this.

>micronations like yours

go fuck yourself Pedro

It's old, and we don't really need a better one. We have cars.

>europoors can't afford plane tickets

no lol

With the appearance of airplanes, a national passenger railroad network does not make any sense in USA.

Americans has planes everywhere. Due to network effects, planes make sense even for short travels where trains could be competitive.

How many time a NYC - LA takes by train?

Boston - LA*

That's Amtrak, which is just one company. Cities have their own independent transit systems. Remember, 50 United States, and not one country in 50 parts.

>It's just optimized for cargo, not passengers

ameripassengers ARE cargo

Road trips are the best way to see the USA t'bh

According to Google 3 days

ok now i understand planes are better

here's what it looks like with the freight lines included

how is it possible for a single locomotive to tow so many wagons (seems like they can be many kilometers long)

>wagons

Railcars

'railroad' is such a stupid word desu

are you r-tarded? that is clearly not a single locomotive

>Railcars
thank you, i was not sure about the right word to use

You don't know much do you?

best game ever 2bh

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_trains
they average 2km long and can be longer.

>not OpenTTD

I can see like 4 locomotives in that picture, are you blind?

> amtrak

it's only passenger lines

>mfw grew up in Chicago area
>get stuck at RR crossing when one of those mile-long trains is going by at 40 mph
No, they're that long.

We do have the cheapest flights. I can can literally fly from Cologne to Milan for the insignificant price of 9 €

But a train from Bern to Geneva is like 70 euros

OP map is passenger lines, here is a map of all the rail lines owned by the rail companies.

American cities are much further apart from eachother than in Europe. Except for maybe the East Coast and some places in California, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to have a lot of passanger lines if you already have planes.
