Turns in to proper jazz around 2:50 Old thread got delete. Just going to copy my last post after I had reviewed a few people. Applied at the Sydney Conservatory or Music for an International Jazz Scholarship, which will probably get me no where, but as I said on another thread, there is now harm in trying to reach your wildest dreams in life. The worst that can happen is I will get declined, or berated by Sup Forums (which I encourage, because you guys have made me better)
If anyone actually listens to jazz, I'd appreciate some input etc. One of my major holdbacks is that I'm pretty shit at producing decent sound quality. I posted yesterday and was told to lighten up on the reverb and possibly change the synth tone during the solo. I'm going to remaster it tonight and replace the original file so it should be fixed by then.
yo I don't mean to be a dick but I'm looking forward to the day when I can find an actual artist in one of these, and not gimmicky ambient/edm bullshit

actual artist don't usually self promote in soundcloud threads
> darkwave, 90's/80's influenced, deep vocals, industrial pop > from são paulo > just released an album > this year we'll release a covers EP with corny songs from the 80s > we've been performing on the São Paulo underground electro scene since january 2016
This is blowing me the fuck away, I really needed some new mathy emo in my life and the structure of these tracks is fucking great, 404 especially is killer.
I really like these, I have a soft spot for really distant, fuzzy material, bookmarked.
This is my whatever, I'm in the other thread too but it's dead so. >Emo but the more stripped-down subdued kind. A friend said it reminded them of Owen once and that was cool. It's heavily inspired by the airy sound he cultivated on his first few albums. I have a more twinkly disaster project but that's far on the backburner.
I'm not a big fan on the synth sounds you guys used here. Intro is a bit too long for my liking. Solos are pretty good once it picks up the pace, as is the comping. The piano part would be great without all the effects and synths (just my ear I guess). A bit too long for my attention span, not your fault, Jazz is usually long as shit but if you're not into it then you'll get lost really quickly. Keep on applying for scholarships and shit dude, you never know! Mix is pretty muddy, thinking of a kind of Hospice problem with the mix. Not the optimal EQing. Get a real drummer. I can definitely hear The Cure, Joy Division, Smiths, and shit here. Not a big fan of the vocals but hey that's kinda the thing of this genre. Can't really tell the difference between the chorus and verse (again probably a thing of the genre). The best thing of this track was the solo at the end, nice tone.
New classical guitar track, recording is not perfect and my playing is decent enough (piece turned out pretty hard so I'm happy with it). Feedback, criticisms, everything is welcome and encouraged, thank you!

done 3 months of singing lessons by now, how shit am i?
i love the general ideas, however the lo-fi mixing doesn't really do it for me. it also sounds like Young Prayer by Panda Bear. damn man. this album is very unique and atmospheric, people need to listen to it. good stuff, already following you. I really enjoy the production on your songs.
hey would you be able to tell me what synths exactly? The main reason I used synths was because I don't have a sax/flute because they cost like $2000 (and I can't play it)
chill, I like it I like your bandcamp page. Music's great. Snares hit kinda hard when I listen on headphones, but it's good. Work on an aesthetic. Immersive. Makes me sleepy. This is the kind of music that's bad on purpose. I can't believe I used to listen to stuff like this. Cozy same, pretty good. Not my cup of tea tho. look above what an accent. cool. I get the style. That could be a cool soundtrack for a movie ar a game, but doesn't stand on it's own feet. Make your music a brand. Get a logo or something. And better cover art. you can't invent a new genre on purpose, the first song is good though.
recs and feedback really cool sounds, very interesting and psychedelic authentic as fuck your song structures are unique, but I find the vocals are often too out of key, maybe you're doing that on purpose and I that case I congratulate you. ...or whatever is probably the best track on ep
This shit is fire! If you keep it up I think you could make a great niche following. But you gotta learn how to mix, I think your vocals are a little too in my face. For your lyrics, at sometimes it feels like you're just saying things to say them, but I think that'll fix itself as you keep writing/rapping. I think the main take I have with this is just that the vocals sound flat. Also, I think that for math rock if you want to stand out you should try to sound a little different. I can tell where you're getting your influences but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I'm sure if you've written new stuff this would naturally fix itself, but I think just the quality of singing really takes away from the instrumentation. getting really into this style rn, and I think this was a great find. Thanks user :) your vocals distract from the music and don't fit the atmosphere of the song. I think you would need more effects. Also a few of the instrumentation sounds rushed, and takes away from the laid back vibe the song is trying to give off. sounds good, you got some pretty decent lines and if you want to keep doing it, you probably could. However some points you are really corny, and it seems like you're not really into it like somebody else would be. Some of the mixing needs work, but I assume if you were into it, you'd fix that. Digging the flow.
neat. whatever you're doing sounds cool.
This shit is spooky and I love it.
I like this thread, some actual music discussion is going on, and I'm actually interested in this board again. Sorry if I sounded harsh, but I generally enjoyed everything I have listened to.
