girl got an arm blown off still nothing happens smh feel disappointment in government and police there

should be a fucking international disgrace that its happening.

Not least, the pipeline was re-routed from a nearby town, because the citizens protested it for EXACTLY THE SAME reasons.

which is even shittier.

this is a go fund me for vets that want to go protest
veterans for standing rock no dapl i cant post link tho its considered spam

here's one of the accounts from my news feed:

>Quick story from last night.

>I had just gotten back to the front lines after the medics treated me for getting tear gassed...the first time. As I'm framing up a shot of the riot police lineup through my viewfinder, I hear a loud pop in the distance. The woman standing beside me, probably half my size, goes down hard. I thought she slipped on the ice (the pavement had frozen by that point due to hours of being sprayed by law enforcement's water cannon in 20 degree weather). She wasn't responding. It wasn't until I found this next to her body that I knew she didn't slip - she was shot. Moments later, she woke and became hysterical - rightfully so. Turns out, the 40mm sponge round got her right in the head. THE HEAD. As the volunteer medics pulled her away through the chaos, I looked in the direction where the shot came from. There I saw him, a cop with full face head gear, holding the riot gun that took the woman out. I couldn't see his eyes, but I know he saw mine. He raised his hand, and started shaking his finger at me. It was in that moment that I realized he actually missed his shot, because that round was meant for me. Another photographer asked if I was alright. I told him what happened, and he wasn't surprised. He revealed that press working alongside the 'Water Protectors' have been targeted by law enforcement since day one of the movement. They'll arrest you, "lose your memory card" in jail processing, and your story's gone. Or the quick version, try taking me out with a 40mm sponge round from a riot gun.

>A cop who'd rather see me be knocked unconscious than to publish a story - I'll be honest, it shook me to my core. The only problem for him, it just validated how important this story really is. And because of that, I'll continue telling it to the best of my ability.

>A word of advice to the next guy who tries to take my ass out. Save your ammo, because my shot will always be more powerful than yours.

Pipeplines are the safest way to transport oil... Without this pipeline, it will be shipped on railcars which are notorious for having catastrophic accidents.

Another classic case of lefty nutcases ignoring reality and throwing a tantrum simply to make themselves feel like superior humans.

FOSSIL FUEL IS THE LITERAL LIFEBLOOD OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD

While the pipeline doesn't go through the reservation land, it does go upstream a river where all of these people's drinking water comes from. I'm slightly surprised that something like this hasn't happened before, resulting in legislation of some sort.

No, it isn't. Not any more. We use less fossil fuel year after year. This pipeline will be completely useless in 20 years. It's just not worth it. Use trucks and existing pipelines, no new transport infrastructure.

This is what we get for compromising. Give them reservations and let them live, and now we have this shit to deal with.

Dam up the river for the hell of it, then their water won't come from there and they can't complain.

Classic example of Indians being greedy and wanting more money then they deserve. Then they skip all the meetings because that's how they are lazy. Well about 87% of the ones in ND are

fucking this. just saved me typing a bunch, thank you
>muh land

Greedy? These are incredibly poor people that live austere lives. I live in Wisconsin, where we have a bunch of Native tribes. You sound like one of those anti-Semites who has never met a Jew.

*lazy they are.

80 percent of the world's energy comes from fossil fuels

Awful lot of tents.
Not a lot of Tepees

No actually I grew up on the a reservation in ND and come from a very poor family

just one leak would render the water poisonous and oil companies are known to not acctually clean up the water in the gulf of Mexico they sprayed shit that made it sink and still to this day pops up and makes people on the coast sick and in other leaks from pipelines like they want to build there where just covered with dirt

Okay, kids... Natural gas is the only fossil fuel worth that kind of infrastructure investment from now on, and a gas leak is nowhere near as bad as a oil leak.

I bet the Indians are cold from all the water cannons. Do you think they'd accept blankets to warm up?

Are you fucking kidding me? More countries like China and India and using more oil every day. The US uses more oil every day. This might surprise you, but trucks run off of oil. Amazing right? The existing pipe lines need maintenance. Which takes oil. Fucking retard.

I think that is incredibly unlikely.

it ain't worth the bad PR bruh

I say we give them as many blankets as they need

>Hippies are retarded, listen to anything Injuns tell them
>Injuns laugh while the hippies get their asses kicked and they just sit back and watch
Only a retard believes the pipeline shouldn't be built

1( Indians are the worst people 2 decide what gets built , pre white folk these stupid folk didn't even have the wheel ,2( As far as sacrid berial grounds , Europe has 100 times the density and no one complains about about the possibility that there might be some 500 yr old skeleton buried in france when they want to build a road 3( You never have to ask an indian wtat they think about progress , they are against every power line dam and road , if they had their way we would all be living in teepee's with no electricity

That is absolutely, empirically untrue. The US makes more oil and uses less of it every year. China and India are developing countries, their fossil fuel consumption has no relation to ours.

people want cheap oil but they dont wanna kill sandniggers and take their oil AND they dont wanna pipeline our own oil....how do we oil ppl???

I agree with this

The oil company jumped through every possible hoop to make sure the pipeline was built properly.

Maybe the Indians should've attended some of the fucking meetings and let their opinions be known instead of waiting until it was almost done.

All my friends when I was little were Indians. I even started to talk like them until I realized you sound semi-retarded when you talk that way

This is true. But if you don't live anywhere near there, it doesn't matter.

Taxpayer money is paying those officers' salaries, and those rubber bullets aren't free. If they switched to live ammo, this would be over in an hour since libs don't believe in guns.

>should be a fucking international disgrace that its happening.
it would be except for the fact that murrika is covered with international disgraces at the moment.
there are dystopian novels with less fucked up backstories than what's actually happening right now.

Trucks use oil? Yeah, and fuel efficiency standards increase every year. Biodiesel is legally required to be added in ever-increasing quantities. Oil consumption isn't increasing in 1sr world countries.

This

I think it's great. Stand up and fight for what is yours.

Shit, that's even more pathetic on your part. What kind of sociopath could be so close to something and come away without any empathy?

>No actually I grew up on the a reservation in ND and come from a very poor family

yeah, and your name is Chief Bull Shitting...

OMG LOOK GUYS THEY ARE SO CUTE

youtube.com/watch?v=47BvbQJTnUU

not you not your problem? well guess what cunt if they get away with this whos to say they don't build the next one in your backyard trump wants to deregulate everything for his buddy the oil industry so that means a pipeline for every water supply hope your backwoods ass farm gets torn down for the next one

That's untrue. It's just propaganda from the pipeline company.

You mean this? People bitching about shit outside their 'safe Place'?

just a result of bending over for 8 years while the goverment fucks you in the ass

they are very cute :)

Because they do it to themselves and do nothing to better themselves. They just abuse the system to the point where even the ones that try to improve the situation get stopped by their own people since they have a good thing going

I think they should have all those fuckers. They're trespassing.

lol I don't even live in the US. Trump can do whatever the hell he wants.

Go back to your echo chamber you fucking imbecile .

Some oil > no oil.
Significant environmental regulations (with enforcement) > current regulations.

Nope but you're getting warmer.

Because the kinds of spills resulting from oil pipeline fractures don't release 10's of thousands of gallons of LIQUID oil that spreads and contaminates everything around it.

UPSTREAM THEIR WATER SUPPLY ARE YOU RETARDED DO YOU NOT KNOW UP FROM DOWN OR HOW A RIVER WORKS

They're concerned that a break in the pipeline will contaminate their water supply.

Let the memes roll on

And how often do oil pipelines spill?

>Pipeplines are the safest way to transport oil...

and yet, lets look at the news just 4 weeks ago, and a Sunoco-run pipeline - the same Sunoco who are building this pipeline, were having to warn people about a pennsylvania leak:

fortune.com/2016/10/22/sunoco-pipeline-spill-pennyslvania/

>A pipeline breach on Friday spilled gasoline in the vicinity of the Susquehanna River in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, environmental authorities said, prompting a utility firm to warn customers to reduce water use as a precaution.

>The breach occurred on a Sunoco Logistics Partners LP pipeline in the area of Gamble Township, around 100 miles (160 kms) north of Harrisburg, according to state authorities, who estimated the spill at about 1,300 barrels (55,000 gallons).

not even trying to be a dick. I don't know which side I'm going with on this one.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pipeline_accidents_in_the_United_States_in_the_21st_century

This guy even sounds like an idiot

What the fuck does that even mean? Each chamber? FUEL ECONOMY REQUIREMENTS IN HEAVY TRUCKS INCREASE EVERY YEAR. BIODIESEL MAKES UP OVER 10% OF ALL TRUCK FUEL (WITH MORE REQUIRED EVERY YEAR). YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT FOSSIL FUEL USE.

I work in an industry that has to deal with this, it's what I do every day, and I worked in the same field in the military.

Lots of wagon burning prairie niggers that have nothing better to do.

So, the US will single-handedly make the change to renewable energy, and somehow this will change the carbon footprint of the REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD that will continue using fossil fuels?

>And how often do oil pipelines spill?

last one just 4 weeks ago

in fact there have been 26 pipelines burst THIS YEAR.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pipeline_accidents_in_the_United_States_in_the_21st_century

that whole taxpayer bullshit and the cops should just kill them is classic AMERICAN conservative talking points you are a clearly lying come to think about it most americans havent even heard of it how would you even know it exist

I dont understand why they just don't go around them or something?

Actually, there have been a couple of big ones in the Midwest over the last year.

Dam white man stop being cucks and tap into the conquer roots. Put these indians in there place and move on.

...

Im native and i fuckin lost

They have every right to be be pissed. This was originally their land but it was stolen from them by the U.S. and most of them were killed off. The least they can do is go around them.

Really? So it won't contaminate groundwater that flows in the other direction? It won't be carried by other environmental processes? It isn't as simple as you think it is.

Did anyone mention how they still didn't have a wheel when we came across the ocean

Chill with the all caps faggot. You're not helping your case.
The theory is, based on what's happened with everything else, that murricans will adopt renewable resources (which we are, btw), thereby making them cheaper to build. Then lower income countries will be able to afford the technology making it easily to implement and providing more opportunity to improve the technology.

tech is literally the only place where trickle down actually works.

>So, the US will single-handedly make the change to renewable energy, and somehow this will change the carbon footprint of the REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD that will continue using fossil fuels?

have you ever heard of the phrase "lead by example"?

Have you also heard of the environmental treaties, like the Paris Accords that trump intends to pull out of or the Kyoto agreement, where multiple countries set target to reduce emissions? Yes. You can be part of that. its not just one lone country, its the entire world trying to do this. and some may be failing, but that's not a reason to stop trying at all.

It's okay though because oil a natural byproduct of the earth. You can just dump it anywhere cuz the work suck it up and give it up again. Buses sciance

kek

To whom did the land belong to before them though? Especially for a people who didn't believe in land ownership

Many of those are being decommissioned due to age, spills, and lack of utilization.

Plainsniggers who are protesting an oil pipeline NOT GOING THROUGH their reservation

because then they would get gibs me dats

the pipeline is going both around their reservation, but is going around literally every survey site with anything remotely "muh great ancestors shrine of the dog... yeah that rock over there, gib paleface!"

this is why they are now protesting "water" after everyone noticed that they were just greedy redskinned alcoholics making propane bombs

the company moved there water source north of the crossing point already. 40 miles upstream. and the tribe refused to meet with the company during the review process.

Savages

I'm shocked the world isn't using thorium nuclear energy by now.

Go to bed Keller.

>Plainsniggers who are protesting an oil pipeline NOT GOING THROUGH their reservation
Nevermind the fact that a neighboring space of white people wanted it moved for the exact same reason. They got it, by the way.

unless the construction was a fucking casino. then everybody on the rez gets onboard real fast

You're welcome for the paychecks I afforded you while I was out in the real world generating wealth, while you sat in your barracks playing with your micro penis.

Last time I checked, Biodiesel emits more greenhouse gases than the real deal.

Haha I just Facebook ed that name to see if I know the person but I am not keller

idk what you think i mean im saying a pipeline upstream of their main water supply would poison them if it leaked. the guy posting the picture is saying its not close to them so why are they complaining i am saying he is retarded for thinking that and a river would carry the oil to their town since they are downstream meaning anything that gets into the water at say the location of the pipeline would flow down into their water supply

Lets face it. Almost everyone hates native people

>want it moved
yeah, thats why the people who actually own the land totally didn't sign off on letting them build the pipeline... oh wait, the other thing.

no one is giving you free money you fucking alcoholic injin shitkickers

Sorry, I was shouting because he just kept repeating the "we keep using more oil every year" bullshit, and I am on a phone where it is harder to add emphasis in any other way.

Whether we lead by example or not, we are a net oil exporter. We have enough to last effectively forever for our own purposes, and oil is too cheap for it to be worth exporting.

native Indians should realize that us whites always get our way

ALWAYS

Yes and that's why I hate 1/16 of myself

and US oil independence is a strategic method of creating wealth in this country and repatriating $ from sandy barbarians.

Agreed. Wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric and tidal, with nuclear to fill the gaps is the way to do it.

it's just another raindance for welfare checks

I support them and I'm pretty conservative.

Of all the "disadvantaged groups" in America I've got the most sympathy for the Indians. We really fucked 'em over good and basically there are no options for them on the reservations.

And in this case the corporations have been pretty dishonest and greedy. Sounds like promises, laws, and treaty rights have been broken. Would't want this to happen to white folks in my backyard, why wish it on the red man?

I hate this argument. Some people seem to picture natives as being helpless little pussies that rolled over and allowed whitey to take what was theirs..... When in reality, natives we bad ass mother fuckers who fought tooth and nail for what they claimed as theirs (which they "stole" from other natives)

He's said basically the same thing on his fagbook. There can't be that many white kids that got to play Indian on that rez.

Natural gas is ok. but, the rest of the products made from the molecular petrochemical chain?

I'm not really against the pipeline. The natives north of them want the pipeline for the money it'll bring in, so what ever.
My problem here is the fucking psychotic way the protesters have been treated. I figured the yanks would've stopped doing that shit after the civil rights marches.
you're a boring person.

I really have no idea who he is haha and what rez is he from?
