>crew complement of just 150
>mess and hallways full at all times
>crewmembers don't know each other on a first name basis
Did anything about this ship make sense? How big was Voyager anyway?
Crew complement of just 150
You forgot about the Marquis crew members. You also forget that most of the crew DID end up knowing each other on a first name basis but chose to maintain starfleet formalities.
memory-alpha lists something like 300 background actors appearing throughout the show
the writers could never keep up with recurring crew members and chose to act as if janeway, 7, and the doctor were the only ones
Daily reminder that Voyager was a super gay hagfest populated by a shipload of sniveling whiners subservient to an annoyingly preachy feminist incompetent who suffered from chronic psychosexual penis envy.
shit trek and the nacelles moving was stupid, but given my choice of class I'd pick Intrepid every time
>the nacelles moving was stupid
This always bothered me. They tried to explain why but it'll never mean shit, they're only moving 45 degrees up.
When will the federation make a true exploration ship?
Two warp cores, shuttle/auxiliary ship fab, massive raw material storage, etc.
>inb4 Enterprise D had two warp cores
Wasn't it something about changing the shape of the warp field?
That really doesn't make sense.
Dave?
I used to think maybe the nacelles were behind the bridge so they had to be raised to create a warp field around the entire ship, but nope the impulse position is clear anyway.
VOY is easily the worst trek I've seen, and I'm not sure ENT will be worse. It'll take me a while to get to ENT though, since VOY was so bad I needed to go back to TNG to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
ENT is noticeably better, but still not very good.
I have a few problems with Voyager, thankfully they more or less cleaned them up through the series.
The Marquis were stupid, and so were any plots involving them.
Of all the deus ex machina to use to get a federation ship to the other side of the galaxy, a foreveralone alien magically whisks them away?
Tom Paris and Harry Kim were the least interesting Trek characters ever. Even Neelix, while lame, at least had a personality.
Some of the filler was absolute trash, but a lot of the exploration space adventure episodes were top-notch.
Janeway was a good captain.
The Doctor is the best Trek character.
7of9 was good too.
Wendy?
>7of9 was good too.
You could make arguments for each of those points until this one.
VOY has so many issues that it might be an 'okay' series but it'll always be the worst of the three 90s treks (I know TNG started in 1987).
>crewmembers don't know each other on a first name basis
Since when?
She did have character development since her inception, you can't deny that.
Explained away by engine efficiency. I thought it was cool.
>She did have character development since her inception, you can't deny that.
So did Paris and Torres but that doesn't make any of them good characters.
>I thought it was cool.
But why? I think one of VOY's biggest issues is that it all too often favored "cool" at the expense of quality.
The nacelles rising just makes every shot when they go to warp have a bit more visual flair to them. I prefer the rising nacelles to the sprinkler crystal effect that was added in Into Darkness.
You're the wrong kind of Star Trek fan.
The only thing that makes sense is the woman got lost.
Well gee whiz, user. I'm sorry you disagree my personal taste. I'll be sure to answer better next time.
>The Marquis were stupid
In what way were they "stupid"? This means nothing to me with some better reasoning and wording what what that means specifically to you.
They are all called the Maquis, I know it's a little nit-picky but that is how I am with Trek.
>Of all the deus ex machina to use to get a federation ship to the other side of the galaxy, a foreveralone alien magically whisks them away?
Sort of agree but that was the least of the problems in that episode. We all know about the lack of thought that went into Janeway's "big decision".
>Tom Paris and Harry Kim were the least interesting Trek characters ever. Even Neelix, while lame, at least had a personality.
Tom was written as a "man's man" type of guy who enjoyed cars and low brow humor. He did have a personality, even if you didn't like it.
Harry Kim was purposely written horribly because they couldn't think of anything decent to write about him sub-plot wise.
>Janeway was a good captain.
I don't think you watched the entire series.
She was arrogant, stubborn, played favorites, let her EMOTIONS of all things get in the way of making the right choices, and ultimately became a ruthless old hag who would potentially fuck up a timeline just to get a couple of crewmen back.
She was hardly anything Starfleet would be proud of, much less tolerate and was the opposite of the type of captain they wanted to portray through a woman.
Were you blindfolded during half the episodes?
Why did they never do anything with the Marquis crewmembers?
All janeway had 2 do was be with Q to get her entire crew home safe. The majority of which didnt want to be in starfleet and explore more than 2-4 years. Hell she could have gotten all of that info out of Q in the deal anyway. She sucks.
Into darkness isnt star trek peasant
>>mess and hallways full at all times
The ship pretty much runs itself. The crewmen probably work for less than an hour a day.
>I didn't read the post, so I will meme
