Saying this ironic because of my flag. But yes, its shit. But its getting better by the day,

For a white foreigner it's great
For your average citizen it's like living in a cyberpunk dystopia

The Chinese have been fucked over by centuries of totalitarianism and rampant abuse of power. The commies are just the latest in a long line of incredibly retarded forms of government.

>tfw in the next 50 years most of the world will be financially dominated by China and everything will become even more soulless and devoid of culture as we become puppet states of the yellow man
how do we stop it, bros?

they have some nice architecture but overall maintenance and cleaning of buildings is very low and the poor districts near the city look like they are recovered warzones

for a country that went from third world shit hole without electricity to 2nd/nearly 1st world in terms of infrastructure and everything else, it seems to be OKAY.

literally no country in the world has industrialized and developed as fast as they did with such a big population. it really is going to be one of those history making things like how we talk about russia turning from peasant shithole into strongest european country and global space power in 30-40ish years.

You have to go back, Zhou.

They have lots of buildings, but that doesn't mean the average person has a respectable standard of living. They're just rich, same with UAE.

A better example would be South Korea.

This. China is the future.

All propaganda. It's great there. Everyone is just so upset that China is becoming much stronger than America they need to defame China. They don't want you to know China is based as fuck because that would involve recognizing that China is kicking their fucking dicks in economically. Literally nothing wrong with China.

The media cherry pick the worst regions for disparaging the country. Being poor is shit, especially if you're uneducated but thats the same in most places. There are areas of industrial wasteland but there are also pristine areas. Its a huge country with 1.4bln people so you get everything form paradise to hell on earth.

>went from third world shit hole without electricity to 2nd/nearly 1st world in terms of infrastructure and everything else

Zheng pls.

All samefag. All CCP bot.

It's no different from the people in the 1930s that thought Germany and Russia were building a utopia and how capitalism and democracy were obsolete.

...

>South Korea
>Where everyone outside cities is a dirt farmer as poor as chinks
>better example

brah did you even get out of Seoul?

not even chinese, but its impossible to deny their progress. literally lifted half the country into poverty to become a global power in 2 decades.

no country has risen that fast except maybe USSR.

yeah korea is obviously better, same with postww2 rebuilt countries, but lifting yourself from among the poorest to middle-income is still in itself a great feat.

going from africa levels to eastern europe levels is impressive.

>They're just rich, same with UAE

China has a per capita GDP under $10,000.

America only ever really sees the worst of mainland China, which is worth keeping in mind.

>country with 1.3 bill
>expect more than $10,000 GDP per capita

brah if they had atleast $10,000 per China will have to be the biggest holder of wealth in the world 2x the size of America

There we go. China is too overpopulated for their own good. They'd have to kill off at least 600 million people to have a shot at being a developed nation.

I'm not denying their progress, but to say China is almost first world now is laughable.

China missed it's time to shine.

Their advancement has stalled and they've just been bloating for the past five years or so.

Gonna be sad to watch it slip away from them.

As long as China is a totalitarian state, no, it will never be a superpower.

Do you have a hint of self awareness, user? America has some of the largest wealth distribution divides in the world and yet like to boast that it is the best nation in the world.
Clearly society wealth isn't everything if the best nation in the world, the USA, can have millions living below the poverty line while also having some of the richest individuals in the world.

>Their advancement has stalled and they've just been bloating for the past five years or so.
Note that this coincides with Xi Jinping's takeover.

>6.8% annual economic growth
>stalled
stop posting anytime

China is a pretty good country. I'm sure you can cherry pick shitty looking parts of it but that's about as valid as using pictures of the worst parts of Detroit to represent all of America. China has lots of potential and the future looks bright for it.

Damn
Talk about delusional

Explain.

So it has sorta fixed its GDP.
But it still basically has no court system, law or enforcement.
And by extension: Me first social apathy isn't good for a society.

Beyond that, its fine.
Also a lot of Hong Kongers are emigrating with their white washed money, because Chinese distrust other Chinese at some level, especially rich vs government.

eh its streets look almost japan-level developed in major cities. no denying rural areas are shithole but its definitely obvious cities are approaching modern levels.

Let Russia take over the world first

Because of the one child policy, Chinese demographics are terminal. Ideally, you need to be shaped like a pyramid, so that young working people can take care of old people. This current generation of Chinese children, as soon as their parents retire, each of them will be supporting 6 adults (two parents and 4 grandparents) along with however many kids you create. If your wife doesn't work, you will support your in-laws also (12 adults total). Very few Chinese have siblings to share the burden with.

Almost as bad as Japanese, but unlike the Japanese, they won't be able to use robots to take care of their elderly population.

>eh its streets look almost japan-level developed in major cities
t. zhang

It's not nearly as bad as the media portrays it.

Any country that is a threat to Anglo hegemony gets demonized. Russia has had a lot of experience with this historically as well as now. Fake news isn't just a new meme.

China for the most part grew economically and prospered under the relatively lax, hands-off Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, however massive corruption also set in. Although Xi has been trying to "fix" that, the only want to do it in China's one-party system is via brute force. He's also tightened the screws on media censorship and pursued an increasingly bellicose foreign policy.

It depends where in the country you go, the coastal cities are much wealthier and the residents there are at least up to modern standards
The Chinese keep strict rules about who is allowed to live in certain cities so that rural farmers won't flood them permanently

The issue is most of the country doesn't live in those cities and is poor, also the cities are horribly polluted for the most part

>Chinese """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""intelligence"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

No its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be

Yes its polluted as hell but that's the price of industrialization on a massive scale, yes its totalitarian as fuck but to an extent. Police aren't gonna stop you for no reason and they're very friendly.

Questionable food is questionable but 90% of restaurants are fine with tasty food, just go to the one locals go to.

all in all its like Japan but poorer

>inb4 running you over for no raisins

to be honest the countryside and large cities are great mid sized cities are the most you gotta worry about

>under the annual growth that even their own experts admitted was required to sustain urban growth and employment in the country
How's Vancouver treating you?

I worked in the middle of china for two years and it fucking sucks. Lots of poverty, it's dirty as fuck and everyone spends their money on iPhones instead of something important

This is a important point.
Unlike most of the world, China didn't experience slumming, because they had the sensibility to avoid the worst of it.
Its like one of those reasons why China is advancing, while Brazil has Megaslums.

Still, everything outside of those cities is rural shithole, just like Korea.

The problem with corruption is thats its one of those things where if you don't deal with them, it keeps causing issues.
That said, most of the "stop" seem to be that the urban development has reached a peak, so advancing beyond that requires to fix the fact China is still a non urban shithole.
Or that there is isolated weird regions, that don't give you GDP or wealth.

China is the place where you can go in a 5-star restaurant and there's hordes of semi-literate people tracking mud everywhere, spitting on the floor, toddlers with no diaper pooping everywhere, people eating with their hands, etc.

The big cities look soulless. Honestly wish I could have visited 100 years ago, it's so upsetting what the Cultural Revolution undid.

fuck china
japan and korea has to unite before china fucks up everything

too bad that will never happen.

>walk down street
>people pointing and yelling WHYYAAATTTT PEEWWWSOOOON WHYYAAATTTT PEEWWWSOOOON

>somebody defends china
>its a canadian flag

I know chinks and they have this weird mixture of incredible pride and disdain for China. They brag about how their country is THE BEST SUPERPOWER TAKING OVER THE WORLD but also bitch and whine about the horrific living conditions, pollution, government and censorship. As far as I can tell, it's not a great place to live. Life is cheap and rights are scarce.

This. Makes no difference if they're capitalist or communist or whatever. If they aren't firmly under the thumb of the west they are the enemy.

That sounds exactly like Russia, don't it.

>Any country that is a threat to Anglo hegemony gets demonized. Russia has had a lot of experience with this historically as well as now. Fake news isn't just a new meme.

They aren't though. Totalitarian states can never really achieve politically stable, prosperous conditions.

youtube.com/watch?v=zBbBc5UYqDw

Yeah, they literally killed their whole country identity.

The CCP is far from popular or well-liked, but the masses put up with it because there's no real viable alternative at the moment and no way to change the system without a lot of people dying.

china is like an entirely different world, I can't even imagine living there. it all seems so dull, gray and impersonal

Yeah it's very depressing and polluted and commie.

at least there's no people blasting reggaeton at 2AM

As if Chinese pop music is any better

Worse since the CCP regulates what content it can and cannot have. And there's a bazillion restrictions on media content in China, including:

>you can't show scary/horror stuff like ghosts, evil spirits, etc
>you can't show non-Chinese being too successful or happy
>media must promote social harmony and patriotism
>you can't show sex scenes
>you can't discuss certain religious or philosophical ideas that the CCP deems unacceptable

>
>Let Russia take over the world first
Hahahahahahaha! With what!
>year of our lord 2017
>still thinking of Russia as if it was 1907

China just overtook Brazil in average per capita GDP in 2016.

half of them were true
the other half weren't

If China is so great then those commies should stay there instead of emigrating.

I don't know. My mom's friend who is retired and travels the world had a pretty low opinion of China after going there

>financially dominated by China
Not financially. Their growth system does not work well from a financial perspective.

yes. its fucking shitty. theres still a bunch of dreadful things you westerners dont even know.

tho therere shitty popular beliefs as well, like the delusions those azn westerners and trashy western conservative media have. some of the youth in mainland are quite normal and balanced, contrary to those delusional insecure azns getting into their heritages and collectivism for nothing.

It's based on arbitrary CCP production quotas rather than market demand.

Holy shit, that image is amazing.

>theres still a bunch of dreadful things you westerners dont even know

Life in China is cheap, there's few personal freedoms, and getting anywhere in society is based on connections or bribery. In general, the place is pretty miserable and depressing for at least 80% of the population.

before those food sucks fucking balls. you have to care about it everyday coz its literally toxic and damages your health. not to mention health care and hospitals suck too. its generally expensive. once you or someone in your family had a serious health issue, if you were not so poor by their standard, you must even consider selling your assets to raise money for it. but most cant so they just die from it.

Has anyone in this thread actually stayed in china for prolonged periods of time?

I don't understand this pepe

Also, all private business and land ownership can only exist with the grace and permission of the CCP, and you're never safe from having your business or assets confiscated by the state. There are also huge restrictions on how much wealth you can have, where you can invest it, and who you may pass it down to through inheritance.

It's complete shit.

Everyone who can gets out for a reason.

...

is china good country?

Haha no. Just select parts of Shanghai

yeah i like it

>Japan level
Lol

Other than impressive skyscrapers, China is literally SE Asia tier

>absolute GDP growth record expansion in 2016
>they stalled

That's a retarded argument

The US loses 300,000 rich people each year but gains 1.5 million poor uneducated fucks.

Not exactly a stunning endorsement of America.

Japan has net emigration. Why? Because they barely let anyone in.

>Also, all private business and land ownership can only exist with the grace and permission of the CCP,
1. [Citation needed]
2. That's effectively the same in every country. Ever heard of "eminent domain"?

Obviously property and business rights are respected enough to boost GDP per capita above Brazil/Mexico in 2016.

That's probably a Chinese person in Canada

Mainlander chinks are barely even human.

>everyone outside cities is a dirt farmer as poor as chinks
You obviously never went outside Seoul lol

And it's this CCP bot with a Spain proxy yet again.

>most billionaires in world
>everyone who can get out does

Huh

Except China is 4x richer per person than Vietnam/Phillipines. Not even mentioning Indo/Burma/Cambodia/Papua/Bhutan

You are a fucking edgefag posting random shit in this thread. You samefagged your own thread 5 times at the start with your absolute butthurt.

Now go fucking killyourself.

All billionaires in China are CCP/PLA bigshots.

Ignore these dumbfucks. South Korea is as developed as Japan.

But retards seem to think China is stuck in 1980 as well. They have a $9,000 GDP per capita and 80/197 in HDI.
That's above average.

Not an argument you autistic fuck

...

>Jack Ma
>literally not part of the CCP/PLA and has criticized it multiple times in past year alone

Huh...

>not even denying it
:^)

>inb4 this autist keeps samefagging his thread

China is above average development comparable to Thailand, Mongolia, and Ecuador. Has a lot of bad parts, but also a lot of decent parts as well.
Thread finished.

china is culturally stuck in the 70-80s. by 1st world standard, its in the 30s or so.
