whats the appeal of noise

whats the difference between good noise and bad noise

how to i get into noise

is noise music or not?

Undisputed best harsh noise album

Yes

No

Maybe

I don't know

Can you repeat the question?

Well, what's the appeal of music anyway?

It's personal what you like or don't

Start listening to noise

For some is, for some isn't

With noise music, there are some people who actually enjoy it because it is "primal" in a way or because they want to try it out, however, there are also people who listen to it to get extra credit on rym

it really is hard to tell the difference, the good noise usually has a much more obvious attention to detail

start with noise rock (sonic youth, glenn branca, dinosaur jr, butthole surfers) and when you think you're ready, listen to pic related

That's a hard question to answer

>discussing noise on a music board

...

is that the guy who tried to claim that grindcore isn't music? dear god that video made me want to die.

the appeal of noise is almost purely visceral. people get a kick out of the sensory overload that comes from fucking your skull with harsh sounds.

'good' noise is the noise you like to listen to/find some use in. 'bad' noise is the noise you don't.

get into noise by listening to it. start to parse the sounds and ideas you like and pursue those avenues.

whether or not it's music is basically not a relevant question. the only question you should be asking is, 'do i want to listen to it'? the means by which people consume noise is the same as the means by which people consume music, so there's no need for you, as a consumer, to make the distinction.
