Nintendo just enjoys being weird too much. They have to do this gimmicky shit every time instead of just making a powerful and well-rounded system. The SNES was their last great one as far as I'm concerned.

Nope. I'm done with the console bullshit of having to drop $500 or more every few years. I'll enjoy my older games until they're overplayed, sell them, and not bother myself with games anymore.

There's always computer games I haven't played, and even stupid flash games can be entertaining. I'm done with the console industry.

I'm pretty interested in the Switch, I've always loved Nintendo, and to me, they haven't let me down with there games and consoles, I may get it, I just wanna see more info on it.

>Nintendo just enjoys being weird too much

In their defense, this is their most "normal" design in over a decade.

I'm just glad Nintendo seems to have gotten the hint that that two screens only works in certain situations. Namely, portables. They've been chasing the multi-screen dream for nearly 2 decades and finally got what they wanted with the Wii U. But now that they did it, they can move on.

the gamecube, the n64, and especially the ds were all great well rounded systems.

Ill probably buy it eventually. Not at launch, maybe not for a couple years after. I'll get bored and have enough money on hand to blow on it someday and I will bec. I like zelda and mario kart.

The only video game I own is a 3ds. My laptop is shit for games... I've never had to have something right away, and I care very little for tech. I put most of my money into other hobbies.

Now IF they announce Animal Crossing for it, I'll get it as soon as AC is released. Animal Crossing is the only game I'll go out of my way to get.

im just gonna wait til someone i know buys it so i can try it with them before i make any decisions

I was really let down with the wii and wii u. The wii didnt have any games I really enjoyed, and it came out the year I went to college and I wasnt into games much at that point anyway.

I got the wii u about a year after it came out bec. I wanted to play the re-done windwaker. The unit would play a game for a couple hours then be unable to read a disk until about a day later. I was really pissed about it. I pawned the piece of shit. I got the system brand new, but I'm convinced they sell refurbished units as new ones.

Like it or not, this system better do well because they need the fucking money...

i really wonder how they gonna make this come to life, and how well it does over time.

nigger, nintendo could not record any profit for the next 50 years and they'd still not be even close to going out of business.

people forget that nintendo pretty much dominated the industry for decades. plus all the money they made from merchandising mario/zelda products.

This, so much

Nintendo isn't going anywhere for a long time.

Good in stir fry

>Opinions

Meh. So here's my take:

1. This was clearly marketed at adults. What adult leaves their house to play video games? When even what Sup Forums considers an adult goes out, it's to work or socialize or something. We'r ebusy, not playing games. Like 5 people use public transport to commute for a length of time necessary to game. So who's this portability gimmick for again?

2. DEEPLY underpowered. That's not going ot matter too much right away. But it's a new console coming out, AT BEST, half way in the cycle. Nintendo learned HARD that 3rd party support isn't optional with the wii u. The second sony and ms push the envelope with the next gen, Switch is gone. Any cross platform titles will vanish and so will 3rd party support. And for those not considering it, remember that powerful core components were sacrificed for this portability gimmick that doesn't really service their target audience.

3. If it doesn't fit in your pocket, it's not portable.

4. So many goddamn batteries!! You KNOW the cost for that came out of core components too.

>Will you be buying it, why? Why not?

If it's under $250 sure. It's not worth a penny more. I don't need another Zelda/Mario/Metroid rehash.

>Features you'll want in it

See PS4.

>Games you hope will be with it

Super Mario Maker. Ideally one in which Nintendo doesn't bitch out and gives us hills, Super Mario Bros 2, and ? spheres we can place in enemies to end levels.

>other shit

I once came and it was like water.

Whats great about AC?
Just curious

Nintendo's curse
>Probably not gonna be an exception unlike the Wii

Highschool drop outs who don't understand the first thing about what it means to be a publicly traded company.

If that shit cost more than 300 bucks im out.

>retard who doesn't know just how much money nintendo has in the bank

yeah I agree a lot with you. Its like nintendo removed themselves from the real world. Nobody is going to carry that piece of shit around, millennials arent going to be toting that shit to a party, and kids who didnt grow up when Nintendo was the shit arent going to be as loyal or give a shit really, when they have better choices with other systems... Its like Nintendo spent too much time on the internet and thinks that how people act in ads and commercials is real life.

It doesnt do anything new. Nothing that matters anyway.

Spoiler Alert: Not very much

You gots a lemon man, don't let it get ya. I have a now Soft-modded Wii that has been loyal and faithful all this time. Worth another buy if you're interested. A used fat PS3 without a overhaul is a different story

I dont know really. I got the gamecube version as a gift when i had never heard about it or asked for it. Since then I've been fucking hooked. Its just a relaxing game, you can fuck around or work to accomplish something. Theres always little suprises. The neighbors can be straight up fucking funny sometimes too. I love to play it while high.

Can I use my mouse?

I used to play it on my DS every night before bed for like a half hour or 15 minutes just to like relax me. That shit can be better than weed when it comes to mellowing out. Its just like, no objective and just live in this nice and cute utopia of sorts.

spoiler alert: they have quite a fucking lot

Pokemon GO probably helped but their last few systems have been nearing that of critical failure...

That's Niantic numbnuts

yeah I guess. I've just been so disappointed with all techy shit I've bought in the last few years. Got a Vizio smart tv last year, worked for a month then froze everytime you turned it on. Got a Dell laptop, the screen went black within a month. Wii U lasted for maybe 2 days before that disk error shit happened. I swear to god companies are selling refurbished shit as new. I bought all of these things brand new. Those are just a few examples. Or maybe my house has some fucking magnetic field or something.

The old HP probook I bought used at a pawn shop is what I'm typing on, this bitch has been dropped down flights of stairs, the back is popping off, the harddrive clicks, but its a fucking champ.

With the pokemon company, they make a portion of the profits bud

>[Citation Needed]

Oh you're definitely right there. Like the ENTIRE tech industry has gone downhill. Prices are up and quality is rock bottom.

I ain't your bud sport

I still play gears of war 2 and gta 4 on 360 on the reg so I'm good

I aint your sport nigger

Do you think they only make money from games? Owning licenses characters brings in a lot of money. The creator of Garfield is a fucking billionaire just from that one character.

That's what fly fishing said to black people

YEa you hit all the sore losers in tech. Vizio is a Sony Fail imo, Dell is and always has been shit, and your WIi was a lemon as its the first i Heard of a bad Nintendo product since my friend bricked his Wii-U in the middle of an update. I have since went full fledged PC but console gaming is only good for exclusives. Only reason for me to get a PS4.

Glad to hear you got an HP. Solid. Asus is best of the best for PC imo, and HP and MSI are top notch too. Avoid AMD, go Intel. Samsung can be finicky with TVs and I happened to stumble upon a demo Philips TV at Wallyworld. (Good buy). And please. for your sanity, and the good of the world, never buy Alienware. Just an overglorifed Dell.

I looked for some citations and found out I was wrong, guess thats what I get for spewing shit without researching kek

1000 games on modded XBOX

all original

pic related

Nah I was just saying how big Pokemon Go was for like 9 weeks, that influx must have been pretty nice regardless of their other merchandise profits.

nigger, the Wii is one of the best selling consoles of all time. Every single one of the handhelds have outsold almost all other consoles - handheld and not - ever made (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_game_consoles).
They have a small amount of third party developers, and a very large IP platform with some of the longest running and most successful videogame franchises of all time.

Another low power gimmick console to cement Nintendo near future departure from video game hardware.

Like every other console in the 2000s and beyond third party support will dry up because fucking no one will want to develop games only for the Switch when they can develop games for both the other consoles and PC at the same time.
What are they actually trying to avoid the last 3 flops? Nothing from what I can tell. They are just trying to throw something else random and see if it sticks.
When will the good will towards Nintendo dry up?

Too bad I got to buy one because of Monster Hunter.

>the last 3 flops
what flops are those?

Oh. Ok. Interesting

>last 3 flops
>Wii sold 101 million units and is the 5th best selling console of all time.

I'm the guy you replied to. I was considering getting an Alienware desktop to play MS Flight Simulator. Guess I'll re-think that.

It sold really well. But as the generation wore on its popularity tanked and has low interest with more avid gamer.
You know, The reason the WiiU was nothing like the Wii.
Well the gamecube was the least successful, But hardly a flop I guess.

>Will you buying it, why? Why not?

> Can it play Sly Cooper?

No.

> Can it play Kingdom Hearts?

No.

So that will be a no from me and my family.

>Well the gamecube was the least successful, But hardly a flop I guess.

The gamecube was marginally less successful than the original xbox. The Wii sold almost as many units as the xbox and xbox 360 combined.

The WiiU failed due to poor marketing. The Wii outsold every console in its generation. Objectively, it was the best out of the 3 (between the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) because it sold more.

The Wii U failed because it was a retarded gimmick that they tried to shove down their consumers' throats. Half the games that used the handheld screen thing were worse off because of it.

haven't own a Nintendo anything scene my advance sp. switched to the PSP, then found internet porn on the go.

now I exclusively play on porn capable devices.

I wanted one of those. I had the pink see thru game boy advance bec. it was the only one in stock when my mom agreed to buy it for me and I was just like fuck it whatever.

>The WiiU failed due to poor marketing

No, It failed because no one wanted to make games on a single power powered console when you can make the near exact game work on 2 other consoles and the PC sometimes.

The WiiU had no third party support and Nintendo didn't do much to try to changed that.
Fuck off with that meme, Nintendo does need marketing with its 100 million strong fanbase. If they make something worth buying its shown people will adopt in the millions.

They need to give people a reason to buy its products. They need something to market on.

>Objectively, it was the best out of the 3 (between the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) because it sold more.

Please dont breed.

>
No, It failed because no one wanted to make games on a single -LOW- power powered console when you can make the near exact game work on 2 other consoles and the PC sometimes.

Fixed

Im sure if more devs put out more games on it they would have figured out a better standard of using the touch screen.

I think it was brilliant on Monster hunter on both the DS and on the WiiU

I never played monster hunter on it. Didn't enjoy what little of MH I played on the 3ds, but I didn't really give it a chance. Anyway. Mario Maker used the screen well. I haven't seen anything else that did. Starfox was completely raped because of it.

No, it literally failed because people didn't realize that the WiiU was a different console. They thought it was just the same thing with a different controller. They ran virtually no marketing campaigns to try and cover the fact that it had a very similar name, and hence why people didn't buy it.

I will agree that the name being virtually identical was utterly retarded.

I think its kinda expected one of the first attempts to use a new controller might end up being terrible.

Designing a game to showcase your controller instead of fun gameplay also didn't help.

Build your own PC. Best way to go if you don't buy one put together (HP would be the route I go).

Asus is the bets route with Intel components. AMD is shit tier cheap trash that will not perform. Yes Intel is expensive, but will last you as long a you take care of it.The next best thing would be a Gigabyte or MSI based board. SSD or HDD is up to you, just use major brands there. Avoid Toshiba in any market, they suck (It's a miracle my PS3 Slim HDD still works [hint it's a Toshiba]). NVIDIA Graphics cards with Intel chips are your best bet. 4gb is just fine for modern games with 60 fps and max graphics. 8gb is max for now unless you are doing photo and video editing. Then the price and increase in video memory justifies the price. Power Supply is up to you, just don't go cheap Chinese trash (I have an EVGA) [Go 650 Watt range or higher for increase in power demand down the road), and consult pro's about cases. There are some really sick looking cases that are just atehetic and I have been informed by sales associates that some cases they had for sale killed both AMD and Intel computers due to it's poor design. Corsair and Thermaltake are good bets, but be sure to research first.

An Alineware is just a Dell with different badging. Costs more too. Right now, my build on my computer benched at about $1,000 to $1,100. Alienware is $1,500 to $2,200 last time I checked, and my system can still outperform it.

I will get a Switch the day that these games are released.

Monster Hunter
BoTW
Some type of Mario
Some type of Metriod

Its about time I get back into consoles.

What are you on about? Starfox came out, what, 4 years after the Wiiu?

(But yeah it was obviously them saying HEY PAY ATTENTION WE HAVE THIS FANCY CONTROLLER HEY)

yeah that came out rather later then I remember.

I've never had good luck with HP laptops, however I've never had a bad HP desktop

My friend had an HP laptop that lasted forever. DV^ or something like that? an $800 laptop new. I have an old Gateway I bought from him. Real pos.they have gone downhill a second time. Maybe they never got any better just like how Compaq went to shit when HP bought them and likely made them shit to make their image better, but I digress.

Nintendo makes more money off of its handheld sales than all the other consoles combined. They can shit out a new DS and print money. Kids still buy the fuck outta the handhelds.

Game Boy Advance is one of my favorite consoles. I have a 3DS now, it's porn capable

No. That device is going to have like 4 built in batteries. The portability is going to be wholly novel, and not a all useable for any meaningful gaming sessions.

Moreover, I bet you they aren't user replaceable either. After two years, your left remote might be completely useless, but your right might be fine.

If your display (which is the console itself, I presume) stops holding a charge, you need to buy a whole new fucking console just to have the portability feature.

It also looks like the cheapest fucking plastic on Earth.

The combined controller is goofy as hell, no one wants to hold a cuboid.

I'll buy it if it's around the $400 range. I really hope Nintendo make a console Pokemon game. That's long overdue.

In my country the price of Nintendo console aren't that much lower than Sony or Microsoft console offerings. Maybe in some countries there's a big price different.

I picked up a wii u for R999. 00 (roughly 72USD) a few months ago with splatoon and 2 amibos (brand new... The shop stopped stocking nintendo and got rid of the last 2 consoles they had left). I fucking love it. The gamepad is amazing and the exclusives are great.

relatable

I go where the Zelda series goes. I generally into PlayStation but right now Breath of the Wild is giving me a huge Skyrim nostalgia so I'm enticed to get the system.

Not particularly interested. The controller looks terribly awkward, I already have a DS so the mobile faction is asinine, and it doesn't appear to offer anything that the Wii U isn't.

I'll skip.
