Is actually a good thing, less competition for good musicians
Whilst I'd usually be inclined to agree, I truly believe that most audiences wouldn't realise if they even heard these so called 'good musicians'. They clearly don't see any problem with the lifeless sounds coming from bands such as the ones OP listed (including the one's he said were good, in fact, especially those ones). It's a problem with what is now considered good, the bar hasn't just been set low but a sound has developed from it which is dull and uninspired. Bands now get praised for being derivative, the amount of times I've seen youtube comments saying things like "this band is bringing back that 90s sound, when music was actually good" I die a little inside every time.
