I prefer the live version to the studio version, but both are good. Wonder why it never made Hunky Dory.

For those who don't have it, the unreleased Bowie album Toy.

Why didn't he release it?

EMI was busy, Bowie was busy being a dad, Bowie moved on to Heathen and it got leaked on the internet anyway,

Holy shit, thanks user!

Sounds like Smashmouth. Jesus christ

I always remember Tired Of My Life as a early song, but I always forget what it meant.

I love Bowie. I'm a true acolyte, if you can say that without needing to kill yourself. But his music has always been with me since I was a child, and his aesthetic since I was a teen, with zero knowledge.

Later on, I really knew all his music. And when I finally, after years of sticking on the 70's, got to Scary Monsters. It truly struck me as an album about how sick Bowie was about the world's shit. He was done with the inconsistency, the cruelty. All sorts of things. All of it.

There's something so much more painful about it once your realize the piece that opens and closes it was written before you ever knew his name. Once you realize he would "throw that rock against the road" and think something similar before he did coke, before he was famous. Before Ziggy. That sat in the back of his head for years, despite his success.

Somehow, that makes me love, sympathize, and identify with him and his music even more in my own way. But it's still a damn sad thought.

>Modern Love by Carlos Alomar

Bowie had a great eye for talent. That said, Alomar was one of his best bandmates. And with that said, I wonder why, of all of them, he never much branched out on a solo career or worked with many other musicians. He clearly had the ability, he's fucking integral to some of what Bowie did. God bless him.

I want an old fashioned house
