College thread

What colleges do you guys go to? which have the best music taste? pic related is mine

NEET HERE ;)

Fuck off, Will. There's no need to shill on here anymore.

xD

my name is not will

why you gotta lie?

Holy shit I go to WM too! They should rename us Will Toledo and Mary, probably

Central Washington University reporting in.
People in the composition program are pretty good for the most part. Some even like Sup Forumscore unironically. Everyone else has shit taste tho

loans galore

actually I shouldn't be surprised I'm not the only WM person since some asshole literally named their radio thing after Sup Forums

For all the NEETS:

Post your favorite Lays flavor

penn state

Anyone UGA?

Who /communitycollege/ here? I'm in a transition period to be fair to myself

I go to Worcester Polytechnic and everybody here has awful fucking taste. Save me please

I attend this school as well, t b h I thought everyone at NYU was too much of a normie to go near Sup Forums. But I've never really hung out at WNYU or anything

WHATS GOOD?!!

Hey man, I start there this fall. What can you tell me about the music there right now?

Marquette here. Campus as a whole has shit "hipster" taste.

All my friends go to NYU. You guys from nyc originally?

Is it true that all Marquette students own at least one yacht? - UWM dropout

>willingly going to the shithole that is Worcester
I know it's technically on the up-and-up but still you did it to yourself

Worcester is a shithole, but my college is nice

University of Colorado at Boulder everyone listens to the chainsmokers, chance the rapper, and jcole

Nah I'm originally from Boston. I was pretty surprised how many native New Yorkers there are here though, it seems to be the second largest demographic behind international asian kids

I went to CC but I transferred to a 4-year (pic related). Community college is incredibly misunderstood and underrated. Such an affordable option at a time when the cost a degree in the U.S. is egregiously expensive. Power to you, user.

Yeah man it's a great school, plus you don't have to leave NYC. Win-win if you can afford it. How does NYC compare to Boston?

Nope, I'm originally from Maine but I haven't been back in like 3 years because my family moved to Mass.

Just got into here, anyone have experience?

More Asians in Boston/Cambridge

probably transferring soon tho

Agreed. Fuck the US education system. College shouldn't be a luxury. I've taken fantastic classes and had great, knowledgeable teachers.

Get back to studying, Steven.

Yo i go to cwu too. whats your major?

Nevermind. Your major is composition.

NYC is better in literally every way imo. Boston is more walkable I guess but thats mainly just a function of the fact that its so much smaller. You stop finding new things to do in Boston reeeeally fast.

Yeah it's pretty special user. Surprised with your answer since Bostonians are so proud generally. Glad you like it

at w&m but pretty miserable. don't know if i'll transfer but yanno

I can attest to this. I'm finishing my 3rd year at Tisch and this city is still as crazy and magical as when I first came here. My brother works in Cambridge and I lived with him in Southie last summer. The city got boring very quickly.

where are you from? It's pretty good. But very 'band'centric...ie, everyone talking about what "bands" are playing if you get what I'm saying. little to no hip hop or electronic presence in the local scene. A few of the WUOG DJs have electronic projects though. There's a few people who do downtempo/instrumental hip hop though. VERY easy to get shows booked, even if you're a brand new band. Lots of venues will book virtually anyone if its a weekday night, and there's always house shows going on.

There's also a ton of national acts always coming through Athens. Just this spring we're getting Spoon, Japandroids, Dino JR, Explosions in the Sky..

Long story short, if you like music, you're coming to the right place

Glad to hear it, that sounds great.
>everyone is talking about what "bands" are playing
So it's still mainly rock that's popular? What subgenres?

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, can confirm the chainsmoker hype is real :(

Wisconsin. Most people have extremely bad taste in music here. Everyone is either a hardcore Drake/Kendrick fan or consider themselves hipster because they like Car Seat Headrest.

tell us more

what's good? I'm a junior

WOOF WOOF WOOF WOO FWOO WFOO WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF

At least you're filthy stinking rich and will never have to work a day in your life.

Lot of girls here listen to shit like animal collective, Mac demarco. The xx etc. Just a lot of indie shit

lehgo
WUOG is absolutely based for discovering new music and local bands. Good scene too, currently looking for people to form a band with

Can you explain to me why literally everyone who goes to Tisch seems pretty cool except my roommate who is the most boring stereotypical jewish kid from long island?

Why did this happen to me?

UMM and depressed as hell.
Been listening to a lot of blues and classical recently.

That happens everywhere. He probably thinks he is going to be an industry dinosaur. My freshman roommate was a spoiled baby from Malibu. He was the most asinine person I've met so far in this school. I avoided him at all costs.

well he has the jewish part going for him

>William and Mary
The only damn school in the state I can't come up with any banter for.
At least we kicked your ass in football this year.

Everyone's into hip-hop and various edm subgenres here. Great rave/festival scene in the area but not too much else.

I mean if you like CSH you probably are a hipster. Obviously they aren't super underground but hipster stuff never is.
