Isn't autechre at least IDM? Aphex twin maybe is not but i would like to get into something more experimental sounding like him.
IDM doesn't actually exist

Experimental... IDM... No no no we aren't in the 90s!
>you can only listen to current music
even better because its comfier
Thank you! I listened couple songs from each album and this is what i was looking for.
Isn't there any newer artist who make this kind of music or is it only 90s thing? I'm new so don't know.
for the particular style like saw 85-92, its pretty much 90s only, mind you theres still ambient techno being made, only its a lot more modern and doesnt really have the same vibe
this would be something youd find today
youtube.com
Everything has splintered off into multiple different genres and sub-genres so no one artist strictly makes 90s style ambient techno, you're better off exploring techno as a whole and see what you like
Thanks. I also like this song and this kind of electronic music.

subscribe to the yt channel 7296272962, they upload good experimental shit everyday almost.
>BOC
>ambient techno
Let's all argue about what a certain genre is or isn't instead of actually giving OP suggestions of something he would actually like. It's so constructive right? You can all prove you know everything there is to know about genre trees. What differentiates music is how it makes you FEEL. Not the technicalities of BPM, sequencing or sounds.
Ill list some of my favorite artists, they are not all the same style.

Stop caring about what mu thinks 99% of these guys are real daft. Oosten to what YOU like only.
Most of these literally don't sound like saw 85-92
at least half the other people in the thread managed to give him something remotely similar
What else is it?
How Gas 0095 is included when Woob 1194 isn't?
So expand your horizons
That's not the point of the thread.
If you like the crazy snares on the RDJ album and Druqks, check out Venetian Snares.
If you've only listened to SAW, you should just continue to explore his discography.
why not explore something you really like first then when you've gotten a hold of that move onto to something else
bump
Idk what genre is this i suppose minimal techno
post some similar if you have
youtube.com
Based retard.
not that user, but the closest thing would be downtempo. still.not a very good description, but better than ambient techno which is totally inaccurate.
What a fucking shitty list. Yung Gud, Jamie XX, fucking Moderat? Wew
Some of my favourite IDM albums:
Farben - Textstar
Phonem - Hydro Electric
Mouse on Mars - Autoditacker
Squarepusher - Hard Normal Daddy
Autechre - Confield
AFX - Hangable Auto Bulb
I've still got lots to listen to though
half this shit isn't even ambient tech
Which one of these is good for bass. I'm looking for something to listen to in my car stereo with 12 in p3s. I want something with good rhythm not just boring like rap
anything from the Artificial Intelligence series is a good place to start if you want that early 90s IDM sound that SAW85-92 has.
The classic that influenced them all.
I feel like YMO and its solo artists were a bigger influence on IDM than the acid house movement, even if IDM artists got their start making house. Just compare these two tracks:

I feel like you're fucking dumb m8.
IDM
boring
>japanese synthpop artists were more influential than british acid house artists on british techno artists that started out as acid house artists who still mix acid house tracks in their dj sets even to this day
this is some RYM-tier revisionism
those two records aren't IDM, they're ambient techno. IDM doesn't exist
Here's some of my favorite ambient/minimal techno
Voices from the Lake - s/t (2012)
DeepChord Presents Echospace - Liumin (2010)
Conoco - Kemikoski (1999)
Autechre - Garbage (1995)
Yagya - Sleepygirls (2014)
Edanticonf - Forest Echo (2012)
Pantha du Prince - This Bliss (2007)
If you like those middle three then get into dub techno, aka basic channel
If you like those last two then get into microhouse/deep house, check out nicolas jaar, dj sprinkles, and moodymann
To anyone interested in experimental electronic music (and not just IDM) i really recommend trying Orange Milk Records releases, it's truly refreshing and at the very least interesting. Some releases are mind blowing imo. They had 6 new ones last week that I think are very good but I never see them discussed around here
