I work at bunnings - Ask me anything

what is the secret ingredient in the snags?

what happened to succcccccccccc

On leach hwy?

Fat

Nope

What bruh

I bought a nice cordless drill the other day, but when I got home I realised it didn't come with a battery or charger! WTF brah???

What the fuck is Bunnings?

No. I refuse and I want you to know this.

You probably bought skin only, bring it back explain the confusion we'all be happy to accomodate

Huge hardware store in Australia, New Zealand and now England

Appreciate the response

Yeah, I was in a hurry. Didn't matter, just went back and got a battery package, I live only a couple of hundred metres away. Love Bunning's, good on ya, m8!

how much you get?
are all floor staff paid the same?
do you have different ranks?

Oh that's good! Cheers m8! Easy confusion, I hate some of the packaging for tools, easy to miss that it's not included

Here you go OP, GF and I the other night.

Is it fun to work there? I imagine it would be a bit like being a bouncer at a brothel, everyone else is going in for fun and you have to work, smile and be nice to grumpy tradies.

I'm paid about $28p/h
No - everyone's paid differently, depends on what you are also depends on how long you've been there.
There's different ranks as well as different positions as well

I used to work at bunnings but i quit because it made me want to kill myself.

That's like putting a strawberry on a crayfish tail!

u wot m8?

thats not so bad, how long u bin there?
how long are your shifts?
how much is your rent?
how much money do you save?

Hot dude - be careful there's team that work over night they might've copped a look ;)

I enjoy it tbh, I find it fun, the whole team as a whole are supportive and generally enthusiastic - we're Aussies after all, mateship are what makes us so yeah it's fun. Of course some days are shit and most customers are good except you do get the shitty ones of course

Like.. putting something nice on something else nice.. sorry, I'll go home now.

Not OP.
I used to work in the trade section just checking the cars that drive through. Pretty much just sat on my phone and every 10 minutes pretended to check a car.

OP tell your mates to stop giving uneducated electrical advice

Oh i know, we were quick haha
You make no sense

Can understand that

3years
My half is $200 a week
I save about 60% of pay
My shifts are 8hrs each, some do 10hrs others do 9.5 it depends, I've done some 10 but I work mon-fri 6am till 2pm

Without any trace of sarcasm, I reckon Bunning's staff are the best anywhere. Never, ever been badly treated there. Bunning's is one of those companies who deserve to be the top dog in their field.

That's a rough area because some stuff we can give advice on, but some electrical stuff we can't say a thing only to get an electrician to do it

Why do you guys seemingly stock the same quantity of metric and imperial tools, if the metric tools sell out all the time?

Ahaha dude I've had to do that before

Fuck me, qualified tradie doing domestic works only gets slightly more, why bother with 3-4 years of shit apprenticeship when you can work at bunnings

Aw cheers man, that's real nice of you :)

We have a min/max of stuff and the team should readjust according to how much sells more, but ordering is done not by team members but by the reps for that company if that makes sense so it's the reps fault for not ordering enough because they shouldn't let stock run out at all

How much are you paid starting rate?
How many shifts do you get?
How often are people massive cunts to you for absolutely no reason.

I'm on similar rate for being a casino dealer in Victoria. Kinda sick of having to be nice to people verbally abusing me for their own losses and faults.

Where do you work

Depends on your age and whether you're casual or not.
As in team members? When I started there wasn't anyone, but tbh there is a few cunts now but when you start everyone's pretty friendly and if you need anything will show you and help you out :)
And the shifts also depend on some stuff - whether they need people for a department (you also get provided all training) and whether you're on casual or not

Bunnings in QLD - sorry that's all I'll say

>As in team members?
Nah customers.
Like come in like they're already mad at you, you meet all their needs, then they still act like you've killed their dog and leave.
Or are they mostly alright?

Part time rate?

Nah they're actually pretty good tbh, there's always gonna be a few shit ones but I don't give them good customer service if they don't respect me ya know and part time would be less than casual but pretty good still depending on age
