>COSPLAY WELCOME!

lol. oh shit fukkin dropped

It appears to be called Idiot Fest for a reason. Especially for California that is an awful line up. However everything has a price. I think a maximum of $40 for the whole thing is fair.

look totally tubular dude!

>Nu.male: the festival

Bluegrass festivals are patrician as fuck

Don't go unless it's an artist who's normal concert is expensive or there are multiple people there that make it worth going to.
Even then they are not as fun as your normal concert. They are usually jam packed with people so if you prefer your concerts smaller it can be annoying.
Also never camp, seems cool at first but it adds up money wise and there are tons of annoying people around you.
That's about all I can offer, have been to four festivals and camped at two.

Never heard of a single one

sounds like you went camping at the wrong festivals user

Thanks yeah. some good points are being made. I've never been to a music festival but I have been to cons because friends told me to go and ended up hating it.

It sounds like it could be fun but I really only want to see one band (animal collective) and on second thought they're recent set lists have been mostly from painting with...

their*

the only good acts:
weezer
ok go
car seat headrest
demetri martin
tv on the radio
animal collective

also shoreline is sort of a bad venue in my opinion, feel like it would really bad for a festival type thing.

i'm sort of over festivals in general, would rather just see the bands on their own tour, unless it is a headliner you end up getting a weird preview of what their set would be like on a normal date, and most people are less than half interested. also most people at festivals seem to suck

honestly i feel like that's a pretty good roster for stuff to do for 2 days.

like how many things can you fit into a day at a festival, on a good day?

Literally the only acts announced so far are the ones on the poster. I think another round of announcements are coming up next week though.

The only one I'm really hyped for so far is Low, always gotten a great four days out of sled every year though.

South African here. The fact that First-Worlders "consider" festivals when I would die to go to any of them makes me so sad.

I went to my first festival last year and I'm going to another this year. They're pretty crazy if you watch whats going on around. I went to this last year with a few of my friends. I ended up dressing up as luigi while my friend dressed as mario, we were both on lsd.

Shit I didn't even post the final line up

>Cosplay welcome!

That's why mad decent is shite

...

Not bad of a lineup. Bassnectar, Andy C, odesza, Nero, 12th planet, crywolf, opiuo, illenium, and a pendulum DJ set. Plus there's eptic and trampa. Only gripe is not enough DnB

Fuck yeah , Check out Liquid Stranger and Space Jesus.
I'm most excited for those names.

Liquid stranger isn't too bad. His stuff is amazing, but I love the song "Destroy him my robots". So good of a DnB song

Recently got back from Okeechobee Music Festival. Saw sturgill simpson, badbadnotgood, usher and the roots, waka flocka flame, anderson paak, tauk, dram, rae sremmurd, solange, and a few others i cant remember. Great festival.

Fuck bassnectar. Bassheads and their ketamine ruin every goddamn festival they go to.

>Kendrick Lamar
Laughed

>Dissing on bassnectar
>Because of bassheads

There's worse fans then his.
Skrillex and snails fans are some of the most annoying

Never seen a fanbase more unaware of their favorite artist's music in my life. They were going hard as fuck and everybody was shocked because nectar came out and said sorry im late. Everybody is on so much ketamine it doesnt even matter who is playing. Bassheads are ruining the scene.

Went there '06, '07, '08, '10 and '12
It is kinda expensive but you can walk drunk through the tents, just sit down with total strangers and they offer you a beer and then ask for your name

P excited about field day desu. Was very cheap too, but has some of my fav artists in there. London represent.

Damn thats a solid lineup

>your city will never have good music festivals, or even concerts

Hang in there dude. I wouldve said the same thing 3 yrs ago but lo and behold florida got okeechobee fest last year. I mead we have ultra, but thats a mainstream edm fest

>Your city got a music festival last year
>It was basically in the smallest shittiest open space they could possibly find and immediately afterwards they decided to take a year off to find a better one
Fucking Promowest Fest

oh my god is this real?
I see at least 4 artists I absolutley adore
and among them there is my favourite mucisian ever, Aphex Twin

They also had a horrible lineup too, just like fucking Bunbury.

At least Nelsonville's reliably pretty good, but damn Ohio could really use another good fest or two.

Ultra is shit. Pendulum comes and the fucks are like "Dude where's the big room lol"

Yeah I went on the last day for Brand New and MM and that was it
I really want to go to Nelsonville but none of my friends are interested in most of the bands there

what the fuck

that lineup is insane

I had ultra tickets last year but sold them last minute to go to chobee. I made the right decision

Anybody else going?

The thing about Nelsonville is you need to go with people who are open minded about new artists. Instead of booking disposable trash in the undercard, they get artists that are usually great at what they do. Like last year had tiny font artists like Yonatan Gat, Heron Oblivion, Daniel Bachman, and Hanba who put on fantastic shows, but you probably wouldn't see any of those artists on another US fest lineup

You have a poster from that? I mean, you missed pendulum preforming but that's all. I just want to see someone good do a set there

>South African here.
are you white? if so, how have you survived this long?

...

I live in Texas, all we have is SXSW which is in the nu-male/hipster/faggot whatever capital of Texas, Austin. Everyone there was probably born in California and they're ruining it. The tickets are also $1000+ . On top of that they only seem to bring on obscure acts, which is interesting but not fucking $1000 interesting. The only other one that seems salvageable, and I might go to is Fortress Fest, which has some surprisingly big acts this year (RTJ, Flying Lotus, Slowdive).

Wouldn't 3 days worth of rapping over backing tracks played off a Macbook get pretty fuckin boring?

I read a bunch of accounts that the wooks and bassheads ruined the fest for everyone, but made it really easy to get up close for the rock sets

this is a really good lineup

start here
youtube.com/watch?v=080Kwc1WWiQ

thats a pretty trendy SF lineup

Not that bad of a lineup

>XXXTentacion
what the fuck?
is he performing over the phone or some shit?

yeah it really is solid man i'm so excited. if you live near london definitely go to this.
totally real brah. thought it was amazing too when i saw it on songkick. and yeah super cheap compared to most festivals. i got it for around £60, but it seems to have gone up by about £5 or so now. still a steal imo. aphex twin + flylo + death grips are really some of my top favourite artists.

Boston Calling sounds cool, but 99$ for a Day ticket, nah

Yea the bassheads were fucking annoying. In kholes all over the place, puking n shit and bringing a dark and gloomy side to everything. They pretty much left after saturday when he played, but immedistely after the show it was as if the nearest rehab clinic let out. Kind of a vibe killer if ur on L. But yea i was able to get front row for some amazing shows both this year and last year because of it.

Anyone been to Pemberton in Canada? Went last year and am going again and honestly it was the time of my life. Canadians are fucking sweet and you really get a sense of community. Everyone is there to have a good time would definitely recommend.

>youtube.com/watch?v=080Kwc1WWiQ
old mans got pipes

Any good music festivals in Toronto or Chicago (besides p4k/lolla) this year?

Since Bonnaroo is dead I'd like to try something else and both of those cities aren't too far from me

Lol both ur replies are to two of my comments. But honestly no. That is a dream lineup for me. Solid mix of lyricists and trap

>that lineup
>mix of anything

Riot Fest is great and worth traveling for

Open air is a good one if you are local to chicagoland and can endure some bad butt rock

If you arent into hip hop i understand ur sentiment, but youre still incorrect.

if wookies are there that means its a good festival

I forgot about Riot Fest, I actually went to the Toronto one in 2013 and had a blast. I'll definitely consider the Chicago one this year.

Stay home wook. Nobody wants ur ketamine induced douchebaggery

Have you ever tried to go a show on ketamine? Have you ever tried to do anything at all on ketamine? Do you even know what ketamine is other than what you read on Sup Forums?

This man is a boring cunt with no friends

Yes, its terrible. Much rather take lsd, mushrooms, mdma, dmt, nitrous, or even a percocet. Ketamine is not a party drug. Its for depressed fucks that want to be buried in a hole. Nobody interacts or connects on Ketamine. Do it in ur basement

>judging people at music festivals

don't you realize this is how great festivals dies?
no wook = no shakedown street = no heart of the town

I admit to admit it but you're right. I went to Bonnaroo last year and it was like all the wooks were replaced by fuckboys and fuckgirls who just wanted to rage at the Kalliope stage all weekend

Wooks and bassheads ruin festivals.

Ill be at this one too, excited for Converge, Flylo, Low, King Woman and WITTR more than the other ones. But I'm hoping the next wave of lineup announcements brings some more good headliners.

(I'm also hoping Flylo brings his movie because I really want to see that shit)

I would not be able to stand the hordes of obnoxious white teenagers in expensive skateboarding clothes that I know will be the primary audience at this fest, so no way in hell will I be going

Dude stop whining you have levitation.
I'll be going to fortress as well

yeah but levitation isn't happening this year

You must not get out much then, dude. You do realize that every artist is going to have at least a semi cringey crowd, right? Go for the music

moogfest is going to be cool this year

I've always wanted to go to a bunch but never hear about any coming up.

I've been to a few festivals. The one I've been to the most is FPSF. But this year the lineup is total shit considering I've seen most of the people on there already and it's just a mix of the people they've had the last three years. ACL was amazing last year. Also Day For Night had Björk Digital, which was worth the wait. Day For Night also has art installations which is a plus, so I'll probably go every year they have it even if the lineup is bad just to see the amazing art.

This one has a cool line-up, wish it were in the US.

>Created and hosted by Chris Hardwick

Stopped reading there.

Flylo's the guest curator so I'll essentially guarantee you that they'll screen his movie.

I'm just fucking d-y-i-n-g for them to bring Mount Eerie back. I've been praying they do it every lineup announcement they've made over the last five goddamn years.

Going to this at the end of May, went last year and it was the best weekend if my life for sure

NXNE? I've always preferred that style of festival to the campout kinds though.

Forgot picture....

Holy shit i am so stoned

Oh yeah I've wanted to check that one out before. Just checked their lineup for this year though and holy shit it's really bad

i promote for this so i get 2 free tix every year. WEEP BITCHES

You and would get along

what the fuck is the target audience of this

Yea I'm sure dressing up as a videogame character at a festival would be totally bearable

best music going experience I ever had. Cant wait for this year

I wish we got festivals like this in Trump country. Fuck the Midwest.

Oh yuck, they changed the NXNE format.

Pop Montreal in September has some pretty solid lineups if you can venture out though.

If you're in texas you could check out Levitation Festival next year, their line ups are just as good if not better.

pic related is from cancelled 2016 fest

I'm in Ohio, so the closest I'd have is the Chicago version of Levitation, assuming they ever have that again

To everyone coming to Austin for SXSW this week. Have fun, just don't fucking litter all over the place.

They've got trash cans everywhere, put your garbage in one.

chicagos been running more regular than the main fest so I'd say you're good

>deakin

levitation is taking a year off and is coming back in 2018

his set was great. he was very concerned with how the audio set up sounded

Went to Day For Night last year and it was fucking incredible. Aphex Twin playing patrician tracks from Jlin and Sd Laika was great. None of the normies knew the tracks tho.

Do I dare?
