My wife is from there and we have decided to move back to be closer to her family. (My only living relative is an alcoholic uncle and his 300 pound wife)

I lived there for 2 years. Providence is awful. The only areas that are habitable are pricey and the one's that aren't overly pricey are shit holes. I worked on the cable lines at night in a bucket truck. I've heard gunshots seen robberies, had drunk niggers open the door of my truck MULTIPLE times, etc. There are some nice college type places but they just mask the reality. You're better off moving to N. Providence,Warwick or E. Greenwich.

Well if your wife somehow WANTS to live in Providence, that's one thing, but if you're open to suggestions, I'd say look into attleboro or somewhere less sketchy)

and to add to this. RI as a whole is a strange fucked up place. Pain pills and drugs every where and everyone is on them. Pizza parlors that don't sell slices of pizza.... That's right you have to buy by the pie and they are terrible. The people who aren't dirtbags are the most pretentious white new england types you could ever imagine.

I did work in one of the prisons there.... did i say prisons i meant high school. I was escorted through the school by and armed security guard to the server room. In the server room were monitors for the security cams. My and another guy i was with watched as a girl gave a guy a hand job in a stairwell, drugs were being dealt in hallways as look outs would text dealers as security got close and they would scatter before they got there, "kids" (if you want to call them that) walked out of classes smoked weed next to bathrooms then walked right back and on and on. I swear to you this is true.

Yeah. Gets worse as you get up into Massachusetts. Lived there my whole life and its fuckin liberal trash everywhere. Easy entertainment if you like triggering them

Funny. I live in Providence and never thought anyone would seriously move here.
Put it this way.
Stay away from the south side and west end of Providence because it's trash. The north is shit. And the east is LITERALLY full of college kids.
Risd, jwu , brown. Etc
Cops out here are assholes.

Ct is the worst. I've got Ct stories too. In W. Hartford on albany ave i was working on one end of a cable and my co worker on the other. BOTH of us had police details. Not because we were in the road but because over there without one you'd get killed. Bodega across the street from coworker gets robbed people run out screaming. He gets out of bucket truck goes to his detail and says "hey there's a robbery".. Cop looks at him and says "what do you want me to do about it" goes back to playing on his phone... True story Hand to god
