What do you guys do while you listen to music?

What do you guys do while you listen to music?

i like reading about the album as i listen

browse this miserable board and try to feel something, anything

roll blunts, smoke them, browse the internet and this board, study, play vidya or just listen to music while driving.

look at porn, browse Sup Forums, go on walks, play video games

drugs

Depends

If i'm just listening to shuffled songs in my library, ill browse Sup Forums or play vidya

If its something i've never heard before i try to pay attention/analyze the music

...

beating da meat

Procrastinate writing mine or smooch gf

Occasionally browse the chan or play Killer Instinct

stare at my music player, no one does it?

Music bee has these cool artist photo slideshows they pull from google images

Sometimes i get a kek out of what comes up

Lie down with my eyes closed

I sit or lay down

play video games, walk, draw. I can't just sit there and listen

I'm either working out or driving.

No one actually listens to music in other situations, do they? Don't you have more productive shit to do?

twitch streams muted

Lately I've been organizing tags in my player. It's therapeutic in a way.

this

homework

college is a bitch but music makes the tedium bearable

Run The Jewels at the moment. Otherwise DnB/Edm or occasionally some metal like Mastodon or TBDM

I go for a 2 hour walk every day so I dedicate that time to listen to new albums when I need to.

drink, post on soc, lurk on Sup Forums

Go on a walk, browse websites, smoke on blouts of kusch

tagging music, especially if you have a large library, is probably one of the deepest levels of hell.

especially classical music. holy fuck kill me now

How about listen to music?
Why are people incapable of active listening?

I like to watch tv shows or movies on mute and see how well the music suits the images. Attenborough documentaries usually go quite well.

i like to shitpost while i'm listening to music

>especially classical music
Jesus this is horrible. I have a bunch of CD's I've put off listening to because it would mean I would have to organize everything perfectly

Very relatable

lots of drugs

and weed everyday

I just set classical "artists" to the composer because it's fucked otherwise.

if physical usually just listen to it

if digital read about the band or play mindless flash games

>smooch gf

can't fucking relate no thanks

If it makes things any better, she only likes to listen to shoegaze or reverby California shit during

>tfw no shoegaze gf

>i have never hated someone as much as i hate you right now.

can you say you're in between relationships if your last one was two years ago? can i keep lying to myself?

definitely could be worse

I can't listen to more than one song without pacing all around unless I take adderall. But then I feel like I should be doing something more useful.

Depends on how many listens I've had. First listen I'm usually reading about the artist/album. If I like it good enough then second and third listens I'm paying more attention and deciding what I like about it

This too. I feel like if I'm too much of a hyperactive shitbag to just take the music in by itself then I might as well learn about it.

i usually listen to albums at night, so it's cold and I can wear my comfy winter gear and sit outside while listening to it.
i stare at the stars, stare at the moon, stare at the space between, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
then i go inside and fall asleep, content with my life.

Write, draw, go for walks, vidya, drive, study, etc.

John Maus and Pale Saints are like the only two things I can get down with that she puts on, and I showed HER pale saints.

A chair/couch by the window on a cold night with laptop or tapes is top level comfy.

Bait right?

usually smoking pot

this
after my last computer crapped itself I can't even be bothered to hunt album art for stuff again, let alone bother with year/genre

albumartexchange doesn't usually let me down

Just a friendly reminder that if you do any other activity while listening to music and you are not giving it your full undivided attention, you aren't really listening to it.

It's fine to put music on for background noise or just general ambience while doing something else every now and again, but if this is what you are doing each and every time you listen to music, you're a full blown pleb.

To be honest, that sounds like most of you in this thread.

You wouldn't go to a play or a movie and spend the whole time doing something else, watching it out of the corner of your eye. It's pathetic.

Many of you have no idea how to truly listen. Lots of you will then come here and share your asinine and baseless opinions about the music you didn't even listen to in the first place. Lots of you act as if music plays some important part in your life, or is anything more than just another fashion accessory for you. If that was true then you would learn to respect the art and give it your undivided attention.

Pay total attention to it.

This.

Also quality of listening is more important than quantity of listening.

No, you did not "listen" to 10 albums today when they were listened to in the car on your drive to work/school, listened to while playing video games, posting on facebook, working out, reading, etc.

"Git gud at multitasking, gramps."

A meme that has been thoroughly debunked by modern neuroscience.

I get just as much out of an album while browsing Sup Forums as I do without. If anything I pay better attention, as I don't end up drifting into the hellhole that is my own thoughts. If I like an album, I listen to it multiple times.

Sometimes a combination of some.

Nothing, I just listen to the fucking music you dickhead.

No one makes music expecting some guy to sit there and stare at the record as it turns.

tfw im gay now

Drink heavily. Masturbate. Go on walks. Work out. Shower.

shitpost or play vidya, but only grindy vidyas make for good music. like arpgs

fap

i've been trying to write rhymes but i am getting all fucked up lately
too much bud and too much brew

>t. plebs

look i get that youve listened to two tool records in your lifetime but you're a patrician because you squeezed your eyes real goddamn tight

however Sup Forums and tetris unironically put my mind in a much easier place than lying in my bed would, making it easier to focus.

that's so comfy, i envy you user

>while listening to music
>thinking in silence and solitude
That last point was retarded, but other than that, that's about it. Basically thinking while listening to music. Which isn't so original, admittedly.

>t. pleb

Who is this cute lesbian and how tight is "her" pussy

>t.teen who hardly listens to any music and doesnt "listen to it better" than anybody else but thinks hes patrish because he closes his eyes while doing it

unironically some of the most emotional reactions ive had to music have been while shitposting

literally broke into tears once to an album i was listening to while shifting thru Sup Forums. did you ever think that maybe thoughtlessly sifting thru threads was the background task? but anyway sorry i didnt "really listen to it"

pretty sure i used to sleep with that girl lol

>t. pleb

"Girl"

...

if you find it is (in your own words) "easier to focus" while playing videoames while you listen to music, I wont overly judge you for it, I'm just pointing out the obvious - you need some flashy distraction to help you focus because the music isn't enough to keep your attention

you're a pleb

I realise this wont help you change your ways so I'll stop now, but if you take music at all seriously maybe it's time to learn some respect for it

what album brought you to tears if i may ask?

I have plenty of respect for music, thanks. I think that you're a pretentious twat who unironically thinks that playing tetris is a new tab takes up all that much focus. I have listened to a ton of music without any distraction, I used to post this same type of shit in these threads that you're posting. After I stopped I'm still able to focus and enjoy it just as well.

DI Go Pop

drink some coffee, whistle the song (I don't like to sing), do homework.

for me it's not at all about focus
almost every time the music made a serious emotional impact on me was when i was unprepared and doing something random

I agree with this too. As I said before, I'm more stressed trapped within my own head than I am while online.

>t. pleb

simply epic

for example I've loved moon and antarctica for years, but the first time that album emotionaly hit me was when i played it while trying to sleep

in retrospect, i never quiet understood gravity rides everything before that

Maybe we listen to music more for an experience and less for a study. They're both valid, but I listen to music because I love it and it's history, not because I want to review it or study it. That doesn't mean I don't take it seriously or it's an invalid part of my identity, and I still know a depressingly large amount about popular music history, more than most of this board certainly.

lmfao, if it hadn't got to you you would never have kept replying

face facts, this annoys you as much as it does because deep down you know it's true, the way you consume music isn't serious in the slightest

if music isn't enough to hold your attention, and you have already admitted it isn't, there's nothing much more to say about it

yeah, i agree
if you get too analytical you wind up a pretentious douchebag like half of this board
that's the same reason why i dislike most of the music critics

I listen to music on low volume while falling asleep every night. This is the only thing that stops my sleep paralysis (or getting drunk works as well). I used to hate it, but now I look forward going to bed everyday because of it.

got any favourite albums/artists for sleepy time?

not the same guy, but i like listening to galaxie 500 in bed

nah it just bugs me when people think they're smart for their ebin "trolling skills" by repeating the same non-argument inanities ad infinitum

>the way you consume music isn't serious in the slightest

please explain to me how one way of consuming music is more "serious" than another

>if music isn't enough to hold your attention, and you have already admitted it isn't

music is one of the few things im pretty good at focusing on, my mind races when doing anything else

if i just listened to the music without Sup Forums, and i still focused just as well (which I would), would I then be a >t.pleb?

play video games on mute

same desu. Addicted to rym reviews

write essays

t. pleb

>t. pleb

At the moment I use Hymm to the immortal Wind by Mono.

Times End by Theophany is probably my favourite for sleeping after cutting out the more intense songs

i always fall asleep if i do this, same with just sitting and staring. i hate it

I threaten people on Sup Forums with physical violence

Hymn* fuck

Masturbate. Furiously.

Tfw im now imagining some autistic dude sitting in his room alone listening intently to Trout Mask Replica for the 50th time today, all he does with his eyes is watch the track time and think about nothing
