definitely took me a few listens to fully appreciate this
Glad I listened to this again.
When this clicked, it clicked HARD
I first got into them with their later albums so this and Lonesome Crowded West were off putting when I first heard them in high school. But fuck they grew on me almost immediately after
youtube.com
the hour long changed me
The first time I listened to Arcade Fire (Funeral singles on Much Music) I didn't like them, but after the Suburbs came out I went back and listened to it all and... it still didn't hit me until after I liked Neon Bible. That band really was a grower for me.
At what point do i either love them or just move on? I absolutely love a few of their songs but all the others just don't do it for me
...

Doris > EARL > IDLS
IDLS is okay a bit bland and dark tho
solace is a cool little side ep too
That last track became incredible and transcendental after the third listen.
I thought it was kinda antiquated at first. Wtf... 10/10
yes
Things have to click.
There's very few albums I enjoyed fully on the first listen.
Sure. Sometimes I just have not be in the right / a good mood when I've tried something for the first time. Then upon trying it again under better circumstances I can be left wondering why the hell I didn't like it in the first place.
...
I don't know how this couldn't click straight away if you're into post rock.
>that fucking harrowing narration going into that guitar
