So is this guy a white trash version of Stevie Ray Vaughan?
Kayden Sullivan
real guitarists also dont post on Sup Forums just saying
Ethan Hall
>implying Stevie Ray Vaughan isn't the white trash version of Stevie Ray Vaughan he was also 5'5, fuckin manlet
Jacob Gutierrez
>real guitarists don't care about blemishes
Actually really want to get a nice nitrocellulose lacquer guitar and wear it out naturally over my lifetime so I can give something to my future child that has a real history
Wyatt Howard
lol
You would know, I guess.
Gavin Lopez
Does anyone play lol
Jace Reed
in /gg/? no silly question
Cooper Diaz
I bet some famous guitar god posts here to laugh at us
Noah Harris
poorfags and bed room warriors ruined /gg/
Juan Barnes
I was a support main in season 2 and an adc in season 3 but I haven't played in over a year
Every human being who was ever lived has fell into one of these categories, congrats on being so specific
Noah Sullivan
so /gg/ was never good then?
Leo Turner
Why is roman starting threads? We all saw your autistic outrage last thread you cuck boy.
Evan Gray
>so /gg/ was never good then? lmao
Adam Barnes
Oh shit did someone just say Sup Forumso'clock?
John Moore
You missed people arguing about their favourite artist in a thread that crosses near all genres.
>when some of your favourite guitar players aren't virtuosos and you have to read a thread full of satriani arguments
Ryder Roberts
fuck yea muh nigga post em
Henry Wood
No one cares about blemishes unless they plan to re-sell a guitar, however why would you go to buy a (((brand new))) guitar without any relic work and pay ridiculous money when its essentially damaged b-stock. >inb4 roman gets triggered again and starts posting bait
Jordan James
So what kind of strings do you like to use?
On my SSS MiM strat I use DR pure blues light gauge
On my MiM HH jazzmaster i use DR pure blues medium gauge
On my musicman stingray I use DR hi beams medium gauge
Howbout you guys?
Ian Jenkins
...
Lincoln Smith
I use super slinky Ernie Balls cause I'm a poorfag with one guitar
Leo Scott
>mfw I can get to you but you can't get to me
Brandon Ward
Elixir 10-52 is the god tier string. last forever
Cooper Taylor
What is the origin of that photo? I saw Stephen O'malley put it on his twitter recently.
Ryder Campbell
you got got bro
Oliver Rodriguez
>muh turbo amps and full stack worshiper
>muh 80s japs handmade geeitar weeb
Christopher Cox
what pedal should I buy if I wanna make music like Deafheaven?
David Perry
GHS Boomers 10-46 when I play in C# or D standard.
Same brand in 9-42 when I play E or Eb standard.
Lincoln Sanders
NYXLs but they're pricey yeah, your own shitpost
Cameron Diaz
I play with 11 gauge d'addario chromes on my jaguar. I didn't like the feel of roundwound strings when I started playing so flatwounds kind of stuck.
Jason Collins
I got an Ibanez RG, Mitchell MM-100 and a shitty squire strat, and I use Elixr on all of them because my hands are too acidic for other strings, besides the way Elixr coats they're strings lets them ring well and they alwayss sound great.
Cooper Johnson
>deafheaven
A poweramp with a broken off ground pin on the power cable.
Bentley Hughes
>chicks playing le guitar disgusting >chicks playing le acoustic guitar puke >chicks playing acoustic guitar with a capo just kill me plz
Nathan Cooper
>(you) lulz
Wyatt Cooper
You don't need PANTS to play GUITAR
Brandon Walker
>not wanting your gf to also be your jam buddy
Sebastian Diaz
wouldn't that kill me?
Cameron Cox
Dunno I first saw it here I think
Nathaniel Moore
>put up beginner guitar up on ebay >asking price 300 >get offer for 250 >counter with 285 >dude doesn't reply anymore REEEE why does he not haggle? BUY MY GUITAR, ASSHOLE
Julian Campbell
I always laugh when I see some dumb 19 year old buying a guitar. It's like why, you dumb fuck? Why waste your time and money? You don't know guitar based music is deader than horse shit? What the fuck do you think's going to happen? Why do you think everybody in their late 20s and early 30s stops playing in bands? Go take a look at the lineups of all the popular music festivals these days. What's the average age of most of those bands? Why do you think that is? I'll tell you why: because being poor as shit is only fun when you're a stupid ass kid. Just as soon as your peer group moves on to adult pursuits you look fucking retarded playing the "cool kid who plays in a band". Trust me, when all your family and friends have stable jobs, kids, and nice houses your "artistic poverty" playing shitshows out of an old dilapidated rust covered van won't measure up anymore. It's like.. think about what your doing, you dumb little shit. What are you trying to achieve? Do you really think you'll be one of the lucky few who'll wins the lottery and has a successful career in music? I mean, really? Do you really think you're talented and smart enough to succeed in the music industry? Are you fucking stupid?
And don't give me all that "I do it for myself" bullshit either. lol, no fuck you don't. You're doing it in the hopes that one day it'll garner you some peer recognition, you're hoping it'll help you climb up socially one day. You do it because you're a fucking loser who wants to desperately escape the societal pecking order you feel has marginalized you. Name a famous guitarist who started off wealthy. Oh, you can't? That's who you think you are, loser. You want that same success and you know it. Only problem with your plan is noone cares because guitar music doesn't matter anymore
Go to school, get a real job, and stop wasting your time trying to score "cool points" with other impressionable moron kids like you. You ain't gonna make it, you fucking idiot
Get a fucking clue
Hudson Cook
Whoever makes these photos is an extreme case of being a virgin.
Mason Ortiz
Maybe he didn't think it was worth any more than 250
Chase Young
...
Matthew Ross
I want to put the high strings from a 12 string set on my six string but I haven't been bothered yet
Christopher Ross
Then why didn't he lowball by offering 200 and letting me haggle up to 250? I would have been happy to do that.
Kayden Phillips
thats a sick guitar though
Connor Ramirez
What I do is list the guitar for a little more than what you want ( $350 for example) so that the first offer is a bit higher and you can accept it without haggling and make the buyer think they're getting a great deal.
Caleb Butler
...
Carson Brooks
Mom, is that you???
Elijah Evans
This^ Most people won't haggle because they're tight arsed fuckers.
Jose Jenkins
I don't care how much pussy you get the only way a picture like that exists is if someone draws it
Nolan Foster
I was counting on 250 but haggling is just part of the game. There's still 3 weeks left on the offer and 8 people are watching it so I guess the next time someone tries 250 I'll accept. I just want to buy a new guitar but on principle don't want to buy it before the old guitar is gone.
Robert Bell
Its as if you're unaware most artists only get commissioned by furries and the likes.
Jonathan Morgan
thanks, user,I am surely gonna waste my money on drugs, dumb chicks and alcohol again.
Gabriel Cooper
I feel you, but a lot of times people offer their highest offer outright (I do it sometimes), so if someone offers you an acceptable price it's best to just accept it. Gotta keep that gear moving.
Cooper Hernandez
...
Gavin Hernandez
Yeah that's cool but when I try to order a mousepad with tits I'm a fucking creep.
Jack Scott
...
Evan Phillips
Meh, in my book liking boobies doesn't make you a creep no matter what you plaster it to. But I'm pretty sure people will think you're as much of a creep either way.
Jaxson Johnson
what mic does Sup Forums use to record their instruments and vocals?
Jeremiah Thomas
>11 strings >smug anime girl Is this PEAK autism?
Ian Morris
fuck d00d I would jam all day if my gal could play
Eli Cook
...
Mason Cruz
sm57 for everything
David Kelly
sm57 and sm57. But I only ever record vocals when I'm messing around since I suck at singing. If I was serious about it I'd buy an sm7b
Ethan Gutierrez
>fuck d00d I would jam all day if my gal could play >if my gal could play >my gal
Andrew Hughes
women always tend to pick violin, clarinet and shit. Where the bass playing gfs at
Benjamin Ramirez
I'll be your bass playing gf
Jeremiah Bennett
>redpilling is buying a much worse, toxic, absolute dogshit finish on a guitar so it wears out faster
yeah nah. next someone will say it affects tone.
Elijah Miller
it's short for galaxy m8
Nathaniel Watson
Yeah. People just have to loosen up a little. I will leave it at that. There's no use trying to discuss how western society keeps sex so taboo. We all kind of know already.
Hunter King
oh baby, just don't take the wig off
Mason Martinez
YES THIS, THIS FOREVER.
Liam Kelly
I used to lurk /gg/ back in 2012. I started playing in 2010 when I was 18. I'm I'm a touring band and make between 150 and 200 usd a day doing session work.
>playing guitar is still only my side hustle
Any other semi successful musicians even lurk this cesspool? I check in from time to time when I'm bored/too drunk to play. wtf is going in these threads lmao?
Jackson Thomas
care to give a brief run down of your recording set up? I have ableton, but I'm willing to DL a better program that suits my needs.
David Brooks
>not playing chamber music with your qt classical gf
Evan Roberts
>Any other semi successful musicians even lurk this cesspool? You rang? Who were you in 2012?
Nicholas Ramirez
I started lurking in 2014, now im 2+ years in 2017. How did you find a band?
Nathan Johnson
Does this seem like a good teacher if I want to get past a mediocre level and actually learn music theory?
Isaac Morales
The guy with a gibson LP gold top who couldn't play his way out of a paper bag
Jose Cox
I used to gig several times every week and do session work from time to time ( I have several recordings on pretty big labels). Then I got a chronic headache that keeps me from playing guitar for more than an hour at a time. Still trying to accurately diagnose it, but on a musician's income in the US you basically have no income and I can't afford all the tests I need.
Alcohol and pills are the only thing that numbs the pain. Shit sucks man, I really want to get back to gigging. Healthcare in this country is so fucking backwards
Carson Sullivan
hired gun in Atlanta, mostly bass.
I occasionally go up to Chapel Hill and the like if the pay is good enough (it has to be A LOT) but I usually stay here. I sometimes play guitar too, but I keep to bass because I've been going to Nashville often these past few months and there's no fucking hope to getting a gig there because it's probably the best place on earth in terms of being able to just hire someone to play guitar.
Juan Martin
Mic in front of cab speaker, into Komplete Audio 6 interface, into laptop, into Pro Tools 10. For bass I go DI and drums are done with samples in midi
I'm sure you can do good work with Ableton. What matters is how well you know your DAW
Carson Lewis
Hung around my local "scene"
supported my friends bands
Shameless showed friends and other musicians shitty phone recordings until I was writing shit people liked. Eventually people liked my stuff enough to give me a chance playing lead. It snowballed from there.
Justin Hall
He left his bedroom, stop asking stupid questions. I don't know if I remember you or not. I don't think I do actually. Any other specifics I might remember you? That's fucking hilarious. You live in Atlanta just because it's cheap?
Matthew Robinson
>Bachelor of Science in Music Production >Music Production >Science Uh no.
Asher Gonzalez
I've been considering doing this as well. My other plan is to buy used college texts books on music theory (prob the cost of one session with this guy) and keep on teaching myself. Honestly if you have the time and money You could always try it out.
Luis Hill
no, it's where i'm from and where i can get work without taking long drives. it's far from cheap.
Andrew Nguyen
>it's far from cheap. Living in Atlanta is beyond cheap unless your some kind of fucking retard. Let me guess, you insist on living like you're a middle class suburbanite even though you're a dirt poor musician?
Asher Wood
gold top guy here. I didn't post all that often. Mostly just lurked. Every now and then I'd post a rig pic. Back then I had the gold top and a Marshall jcm2000. Current gig rig is a fender johnny marr jaguar plugged straight into a fender hotrod deluxe that was gutted by the previous owner. It's internals are pretty much a mesa inspired combo now.
Brody Sanchez
nah, it's just much more expensive to live a decent lifestyle in ATL than it is in Marietta or somewhere else close that has the same amenities
Luke Anderson
damn I need to move back to boulder I used to live in a house of musicians.. not that I want to make a living playing but I miss jamming
Colton Bailey
>gold top and a Marshall jcm2000. I don't remember this rig at all to be honest. I have thousands of unorganized pics, I was thinking I might post your stuff. The chances of me finding it on that description are slim to none. >it's just much more expensive to live >a decent lifestyle >in ATL Yep, called it. You ain't gonna make it bro.
Joshua Cruz
i've lived here for 8 years with no problem
stop acting like a preteen moron, you seem to live in some pipe dream where you think someone gives a shit what you think to the point where you're trying to be some smarmy cunt about literally nothing on the internet
take your last (You) and stop being a fucking weirdo
Juan Parker
It's still not my main source of income and I never expect it to be. If the stars aligned and I do become a "rock star" I'd be more than willing to run with it.
My advice would to never stop playing. Some of my best riffs I've written came to me when I was noodling mindlessly while watching netflix. Also when you write something that sounds good to YOU, show it to your musically inclined friends or aquatancies. Even if that means a shitty recording on your phone. Support and befriend other local artists. Not just musicians.
