What a little bitch

>Argentinian economy is bad
Yes, 2 years ago is bad. Inflation is under control now.
>Crime
Yeah, it is not like brazil but yeah.
>Poverty
We are a latin american country, what did you expect?
>Corruption
We are a latin american country that descended from the italians
>Racism
How is this bad? you're white

I lived there for 13 months as an exchange student.

The inflation and crime situation is obviously pretty bad (I was victim of 3 attempt robbery and a pickpocket stole my phone at some point).

The poverty is obvious but meh most people have enough to eat and have shelter.
I have never seem any racism beside really light casual banter and the corruption exist but its not that much of a big deal on a daily basis.

I think overall what make the city sucks is the crime and the fact that it's really dirty otherwise it would be quite ok.

>3 attempt robbery

Did you fight them or called the cops?

>implying Beaner Aires isn't the equivalent of Jew York or D.C

It's pretty sad.

Lmao, he doesn't need to be robbed a fourth time.

why do people visit amerindian countries like argentina and then pretend to come back home horrified?

what the fuck do you all expect from a mestizo third world country?

you're all so fuking dumb

>Porteña society, with its roots largely in Italy, Spain, and other Western European countries, is fairly homogenous. As an expat, if you fit that European-descended mold, chances are you’ll fit right in (superficially, at least). If you hail from more “exotic” climes, however, expect to receive some unwanted attention. I’ve frequently heard black acquaintances — of both African and North American origin — complain of porteños’ lack of awareness and insensitivity when making reference to their cultural backgrounds.

What the fuck, that's it? "People are kind of rude sometimes" is worth being listed next to corruption and crime?

Everything I know about Argentina I learned from Cybersix

look, buenos aires and argentina as a whole is amerindian, and you should NOT expect any less or more than you'd expect from other mestizo amerindian nations just like us all over latin america.
anyone who comes here with your Sup Forums-tier mentality is sure to experience a really shitty time in Argentina.
so yeah there's your honest answer.

we probably want to figure out how this is possible?

why exactly do you have so many fucking robberies? why is nobody doing anything about them? also if everything is so bad how do you as a "local" avoid these situations?

Why would I visit Argentina (boo) when I could visit Chile (yea)?

I'll address each point individually, bear in mind I'm Brazilian so a natural enemy of the Argentinianjew, I'll still try to be as unbiased as possible

>1 Inflation

Argentina's economy has been struggling for a really long time now, this isn't news to anyone (unless you're a sheltered white american boy). It's not as bad as it was in the 90's or early 2000's though, things have sort of gotten better (sort of).

>2 Crime

Argentina has more crime than Chile, but it's one of the least dangerous countries in South America. It's obviously not nearly as safe as Japan or Iceland, nor is it on the level of many European countries, but it'd surprise you to know that Argentina has had LESS homicides in certain years than the USA for example. Pickpocketing and robbery does occur, but then again it does so in NY and Berlin too. All in all, not nearly as bad as 90% of South and Central America, you'll be fine if you're not a retard (but since you're on4chan and German I doubt that's the case).

>3 Poverty
>4 Corruption

More or less these 2 are linked... is it any secret that South America as a whole is corrupt as fuck? Poverty has been here forever and it's not going away soon. Not to mention, Buenos Aires (and Argentina as a whole) has seen an increasing influx of Bolivians and Peruvians, so their poverty rate is bound to increase.

>5 Racism

As anywhere in the world now, the trend is calling everything racist. Argentinians are no more racist than anyone else, I suppose Buenos Aires being the capital gives the people living there an air of ''superiority'' but that's that, it's not related to race, although some Argentinians do like to remember everyone about their Italian/German roots....

Any more questions?

>2 years ago is bad. Inflation is under control now.
We still have and will have a 2 digits inflation rate for at least one more year. That's pretty bad compared with the world average. Even Ukraine being on a literal civil war has a more trustworthy currency

it's the third world duh
don't europeans investigate about the countries they want to visit before actually going them?
god it's common knowledge that argentina is an underdevoped banana republic, if you don't believe me you have data backing me up from THOUSANDS of sources.

>avoid these situations
nobody avoids it, if it happens it happens, even to locals. that's it.

>it'd surprise you to know that Argentina has had LESS homicides in certain years than the USA for example

The way posters on Sup Forums talk about it it feels like the entire country is like one of New York's worst neighborhoods. We have lots of crime, but Americans on Sup Forums like me have never seen any of that, we're sheltered from the shittiest parts of it, while it seems like every Argie and Brazilian and Chilean is living right next door to their nations' worst slums.

>nobody avoids it

we're not retarded enough to pay to go to a favela like they do.

Europeans are a bunch of naive retards, they are too sheltered from living in places where bad things almost don't happen and you can go to jail for hurting feelings.

>Any more questions?
What are the smaller cities and towns like? For example, my friend travelled through South East Asia recently, and he said he only had issues with bagsnatchers and scum once he got to the main cities. Going through the towns and villages he never had any issues except with overly inquisitive police asking him if he's lost.

Seeing you don't see the crime happening in your country therefore it's fine is one of the shittiest ''arguments'' I've seen in my whole life.

Detroit has more murders than most Brazilian cities.

Would you say that's fine just because you don't live there?

What if the negroes who DO live there decide to move to your city?

what a picardy

C H I C A N O
>descended from italians
LOL

You still don't go to the shittiest areas in the city, and take out your phone or smile to that one group of 4 or 5 brown skinny guys that always wear football jerseys and soft caps and seem to be always commiting crimes

it doesn't seem like a stat to brag about either since the usa has like 10 times the population

argentina seems pretty based though

Depends on the city, really.

Some are fine, others are not.
There are towns in Brazil where murders truly don't happen, where you can leave your doors open and your car with the keys on and no one will touch it, but they are very few.

I wouldn't recommend ever traveling to a South American country and ''leaving your guard down'' though, specially if you come from a well off country and will stand out (being pale, blonde etc).

I'd say most towns in Chile are completely fine, Uruguay too - Argentina and Brazil you'll have to watch out for each individual one.

Bear in mind that infrastructure is shit so if you get in trouble you're fucked.

We have places here where 2 police officers are supposed to cover more than 3 small towns by themselves with no support...

>We have places here where 2 police officers are supposed to cover more than 3 small towns by themselves with no support...
do lynch mobs happen there?

>Detroit has more murders than most Brazilian cities.
>Would you say that's fine just because you don't live there?

Yes? I would literally have to look at a map and research statistics online to find the closest place in my city where I'd be liable to get shot. The point is that good places EXIST in our country where you can live like it's first world, but I've never heard of anywhere like that from your posters.

>hurr durr look at me I'm a WHITE faggot going to a poor shithskin third world mestizo latino country for holidays and I'm surprised to see that everywhere here is poor and shit

>hurr durr I took out my galaxy note 7 yurofag limited edition and asked those friendly local people to take a pic of me in this shitty slum, you won't believe that THEY ROBBED ME

Are you trying to imply that there are no safe places here because you've never heard about them? Did you fail logic class or something?

lol

from the article
>According to Index Mundi, that’s 30% of Argentines living below the poverty line.
wew lad looks like the data uruguayinsider user leaked was correct. argies on sucide watch ;_;

by argentine standards, 30%
by european/north american standards around 90% of argentines live below the poverty line and I think i'm being generous.

hmmm time for *unsheathes red book* communism

>uruguayinsider
That implies that was a secret. It was on every newspaper the day the government intervened the stastistics institute. Private statistic tracking companies and universities have been publishing their own numbers for years.

Try it and I will steal your babies and I'll start hanging jews in some plaza

we should do that even if there's no communism tho

probably. at least you guys shouldn't go hungry though no matter how fucked things get?
>leaked data
>literally a wall of links to news articles
there's a lot of "insider" larping on pol, this was just bantz.

those are the official statistics, all Argentines know that.
Also, poverty is measured differently in different countries.
If Argentina measured poverty like Brazil, poverty would fall from 32% to 8%, and if we measured it like the USA, it woud go from 32% to 65%.
Chile has like 20% less poverty than Argentina, but if they measured it like we do, we would be practically tied. Their caloric requirements per day to not be considered poor are much lower.

by definition poor people alocate almost 100% of their income to food already, so since they can't stop consuming even if the prices go up, you either give them welfare, or they eat shittier, unhealty food
and that's why lower classes tend to get fatter as economy goes to shit since eating carbohydrates is cheaper than eating a more balanced meal.
hungry? no.
kids on their developing age needing as many nutrients as they can get getting their development crippled and fucking future generations? yeah

another racemixed mestizo shithole, of course it's bad

>and I want to live somewhere white.
Where are you from? Why don't you just go home?

well, that's me btfo. this is going to sound incredibly naive, but I presumed there would be some sort of subsidies or something in place since food is so abundant there.

>We still have and will have a 2 digits inflation rate for at least one more year.
It is under control. It doesn't matter if it's still high, inflation is going down and will persist in this trend, especially after the midterm elections.

there are subdsidies for the poor, but not subsidies on food to make it cheaper. food is the main export and most competitive sector, they subsidize the rest of the economy by being taxed heavily, but we dont subsidize agriculture in any way.

wtf i hate australia now
matadornetwork.com/abroad/7-uncomfortable-truths-living-australia/5/

agroindustries are mostly left on their own little freemarket world aside a few regulations while the rest the economy has been historically intervened by the state here and there on necessity goods especially.
that said, government had put in place something like a +35% tax to it for the last ten years.
that meant the producers either had to pay the taxes, sit on their food indifinetely (not possible except for grain producers, and for a limited amount of time), or sell it on the internal market. That create an excess of offer and lower prices.
Our actual government reduced the tax slightly and plans on reducing them gradually on future years. Prices for said food of course jumped up to the world's average because of that
But at the same time they increased the number of people on welfare in the last year, so I'm not sure what to think of it.

>uncomfortable-truths-living-australia
>4. It is really white.
>Australia is 92% white. For perspective, the United States is 63% white.

wtf this is problematic, we should enrich australia rn

I think he meant murders per 100000 people which is different
Chile and Canada are usually the safest

>way posters on Sup Forums talk about it it feels like the entire country
duh, that's Sup Forums in a nutshell. cherry picking and generalizations. intards have no time or desire for any kind of critical thinking.

don't really have anything to add or say, but you deserve a (Vous) for a decent reply. cheers.

ahh if it's per capita then that's actually decent. if you're just a rich boi in SA minding your own business - if you fall victim to crime it's likely 99% going to be non-violent - right? e.g. break and enter as opposed to diego holding a gun to my head while his pal rapes my wife

oh I actually know some people who got kidnapped at gunpoint lmao, but they were 18, rich and naive as fuck. think that happened in colombia or somewhere too, not the Southern cone

I'm from Seattle in America.

Its a grey, drizzly liberal hell hole with too many brown immigrants (elementary through high school I had to deal with Somalis, Bengals and, other third world filth imported into what was previously one of the whitest areas in the U.S.). The city is filled with self-loathing cucks, the women are sexless prigs and we have an openly socialist city council member. Plus, its grey and overcast for 9 months out of the year.

Everywhere in the U.S. that seems like it could be worth living in is overrun with brown/black people/socialists/Mexicans and/or fat people.

Argentina is filled with skinny white folks and its shitty enough and far enough out of the way that mass brown migration seems unlikely in the near future. That aside, the architecture in Buenos Aires is beautiful and the city seems like an amazing place to live.

>92% white
Last I read we're 12% Asians, probably more like 15% now. Are Asians white?

Yeah, pretty much
Here the robber will ask you for your stuff and if you don't comply just then it can get scary

>Argentina is filled with skinny white folks and its shitty enough and far enough out of the way that mass brown migration seems unlikely in the near future. That aside, the architecture in Buenos Aires is beautiful and the city seems like an amazing place to live.
Brown migration already happened m8

can confirm seattle is shit.
you should probably visit before falling in love with the place though. i'm unironically an argieboo but the more i learn about the place, the more i realise it's rose tinted glasses. still planning on going there in 9 months or something tho

>drizzly liberal hell hole with too many brown immigrants

You just described argentina, but instead of "immingrants", it's "locals"

>(Vous)

hahahaha (Tu)
i went frogmode didnt i. how will i ever recover

The pussy game is ridiculous if you're a white tourist from europe though.

>you're white

have fun getting venereal diseases from chubby mestiza midgets not even an orc would fuck lol

It's their own fault for going to a third world shithole, should've came to Brazil.

>5-uncomfortable-truths-living-buenos-aires
>Is it really this bad living in Argentina?
are you fucking retarded or baiting?

By U.S. standards, 85% of us are wage slaves living a single missed paycheck or bill away from homelessness.

Take your pick--no bullshit poverty, or an illusion of financial liberty where at least your food is hot and your water is clean (mostly).
