first for dildos

8/10 only thing I would change is the reverb pedal. I really don't think those sound good at all, definitely the weak link in your pedalboard.

Rec me a boutique Fuzz pedal

Early for boards!

What are the essential pedal categories

>Pink Floyd copy
eh

It's basically a smoother big muff, you don't have to play Pink Floyd on it...Sounds crazy good if you like smooth sounding leads.

how are hall of fames bad?

How the fuck do I write a good bassline
I'm trying to avoid having it be a little more interesting than just following the chords but it sounds kinda cheesy and formulaic

Their reverbs sound cheap, digital in a bad way. Usable but they're kind of in an obsolete class of pedals imo now that you can get studio quality stuff like the Neunaber Audio reverbs for not much more.

Is John Petrucci a good goal?

those pedals are like double the price, and honestly not as versatile. do you have a specific model in mind?

>mfw he doesnt have an Evertuneā„¢ and need to retune his G string more than once every 3 months

don't listen to him. Take an hall of fame.
When you get tired of it the resale value will be much nicer than the other because its just that famous.

The Neunaber Immerse is $225, totally worth the extra bit of cash and it's just as versatile.

having this problem as well wish I could help

[citation needed]

also, that's triple the price

i can't tell if you're being sarcastic

>Keeping strings for over three months
user

>not replacing them every two weeks because of how much you play
Casual spotted

>sonic duo

Does playing guitar and singing at the same time come naturally?

Cause I can't do it.

i'm not sure. i never really sing but i can still do it. how long have you been playing? i find that it comes with very ingrained muscle memory.

there are some weird rhythms i find hard to sing and play at the same time. as cliche as it is, come as you are is one probably. i can get it if i practice for a bit but it's not as natural as strumming

Long enough that I should be able to do it. Doesn't matter what it is. Could be a simple E/A/G/D/C etc. chord and my non fretting hand will still try to sync with the vocal rhythm.

I think there's a lapse in my brain or something

A hall of Fame is $150 new, how is it triple the price? I would say it's even more versatile since every setting on the immerse is top quality and usable while the reverbs on the hall of fame are just OK, opinion of course, but come on now dude...The difference in quality is huge.

It's like comparing your Strymon pedal to the TC electronics equivalent. Totally different league.

Did I tab this correctly?

pastebin.com/cGDJxjyh
youtube.com/watch?v=G9Y5Dhzciyc

idk i think that's natural. i would just practice really slow until it clicks, i'm sure it will at some point

>$150 new
idk i was going by the used price

>even more versatile
dude the sounds on that pedal are pretty specific to certain genres like ambient and shit. doesn't seem too versatile to me but that might just be my opinion. but yeah it's obviously higher quality, i just don't know if the difference is as great as you're making it out to be. what genres do you normally play?

>"the Who haven't got a proper bass player." - Entwistle

Treat your bass like you would a guitar or piano when writing, melody is what makes music interesting. You can worry about restructuring whatever you come up with to strong beats and root notes later.

>not refretting your neck everyday because you played so much theres big cuts in them Xtra Jumbo

poor guy

>Having less than 5 guitars
How do you even live ?

What's the best finish?

inb4 vomit

>the sounds on that pedal are pretty specific to certain genres like ambient and shit.

Nah, that's just what everyone that reviews one seems to play. Check out the Spring reverb, hall and plate settings on it, definitely not just an ambient pedal. I don't own one (I have a Strymon Bigsky) but I can recognize a quality pedal. If you're happy with your HOF that's all that matters though...

I play everything, from jazz to dark ambient.

sunburst>white>blue>>>>>>>>>>>>>>red

white > sunburst > red > seafoam green

is that Rob Chapman?

i don't have a reverb pedal at all, i just use the spring reverb on my amp. looking into one though

2-color sunburst

the blue but with a gold hardware swap

this

white>>>blue>>>sunburst>red

>I don't own that gear and never played it but i'm pretty sure my perfect hear and the compressed shit tier audio quality of youtube are enough for me to tell people what $300 pedal they should buy.

Shimmer reverb is the grossest tackiest shit I've ever heard. It already sounds dated as fuck.

good bass board there buddy
not the biggest fan of the tech 21 but regardless of my opinions of the sounds, it's a great di pedal
all those way huge pedal sound amazing on da bass

I've played the pedal you dingus, I just don't own it.

How do I tell my melodies aren't shit? Should I get second opinions?

my brother saw my new blue duo-sonic and his reaction was "were they all out of normal ones"

I have 4. Somehow I get by

record and listen

Definitely digging the tech 21, really versatile. And the pickle is almost too powerful, I usually keep both top knobs barely past the lowest settings. Might switch him out for an OD in the future, but mindless stoner rock jamming is a blast sometimes.

It can sound good if you mess with the intervals and a 100 wet signal. The typical octave up U2 kind of setting sounds like shit though.

youtube.com/watch?v=tSQHSIhgw58

I was leaning towards the two color burst one because I think a maple neck is more indicative of a Tele than rosewood, and I like the 2 color burst more than the white.

I still kind of like the red and blue ones though (the red a little more).

>3 pickups on a tele

sacrilege and disgusting

Natural ash with maple neck and black pickguard is the purest and best Tele.

Serious question

Why would anyone want to start playing bass?

I don't want my tele to be pure, I want it to be a dirty whore

Because you can't have a band without bass

Eh...

Lmao

First off:

1. That's not true
2. That still doesn't answer the question as to why anyone would aspire to be a fucking bass player.

I tried it and it was fun. Same reason I play ukulele pretty much. Anyways, the actual writing behind bass parts is pretty far from guitar parts, whatever style of bass you're playing.

bolzer does okay for themselves despite no bass

youtube.com/watch?v=BXkP4WS8Y_Y

if a skanky aids ridden heroin addict truck stop prostitute transformed into a guitar it would look like that

Theres a couple of sweet bass lines out there. Primus makes good use of a bass. The seinfeld bass (still prumus guy but good bass)

>friend hands me his bass
>hey wanna start a band it'll be sick
>sure

>friend hands me his bass
>i do him a favor and put it in the dumpster for him

that ground wire tho

building a bare-bones home studio and I have everything except a daw, should I use pro-tools or ableton? what are the pros and cons of each

>friend hands me his bass
>....
>wait a minute
>i dont have any friends

>>>/prod/ will put you straight

>friend hands me his bass
>start playing it
>something stinks
>wait a minute
>it's actually a turd
>my hands are covered in shit
>the camera starts to pan out and "Only Shallow" starts to play

ok, i was hoping to get some answers from people who play and record the guitar , because I would imagine the people in /prod/ would not be as knowledgeable on mic'd instruments

Looking to buy a Boss DS-1 just for the fuck of it. Is there any benefit to buying an older one from the 80s or 90s? Is there any year/era models I should avoid?

Also, has anyone tried the DS-1X?

>producers not knowing how to mic instruments

then again /prod/ is full of synth babbys

I have a keeley modded one and an original one, the keeley is much better

>any benefit to buying an older one

probably just a reverb meme

I've heard that the 80s ones are superior. But who fucking knows. Guitarists from back then were all retards and if one dude who could shred started a rumor like that within 2 weeks every guitarist in the world would be repeating it.

That's probably not going to change which daw is best. Pretty much the daw won't affect recording much, only editing. Anyways, I'd help but I produce in debian cuz my laptop is too slow with windoze to record hi-fi audio.

Anybody know any pick materials that are especially resistant to wear, but still have an attack that's not as hard as metal? Best I know of is ultex, but even those wear down a little quicker than I would like.

Can someone give me the quick rundown on BOSS' Waza-Craft pedals?

Use Pro Tools

I practice three hours a week and I'm still shit

This fucking sucks

Damn, someone tell Jack White and his sisterwife to give back those millions of dollars

option 1
>play bass and be part of a band because the other 2 guitarist are just better than you
option 2
>live in mom basement and ask on anonymous chilean image board why someone would ever want to play bass.

It's basically the easiest job in the band and you get the same cut at any gig.

Try 3 hours a day and reevaluate in 3 months.

Why would anyone aspire to be a drummer? Or a rhythm guitarist? Because people have different tastes than (You). And I for one love the fact that I can go on Craigslist at literally any time and be bombarded with "seeking bassist" ads.

>99.9% of the bands have a bass player.
>but THAT specific "literraly who" does not haha checkmate bass player 11!1
I guess you dont even need arms to shred, some amputee shredder use their feets.

>the white stripes
>literally who

Are you arguing that the white stripes that are literraly only known for a bass line do not need a bass player ?

peter hook and les claypool are few of the many bass players that inspire people to master the bass. hating on bass is literally falling for a reddit HAHA DAE BASS IS POINTLESS meme

i slappa de bass

>why anyone would aspire to be a fucking bass player.

bass has its own skillset and nuances just like any instrument. asking this question just shows your total lack of musicianship.

>Lightning bolt
>Om
>Death From Above 1979
>Royal Blood

Considering buying a cheap sitar. How hard are they to learn?

Why?

bro.. he just bought a used squier and a roland cube.
He is obviously above all bass players

Kek I don't actually give a shit either way but seven nation army doesn't have a bass in it. If you want me to tell you that you're important too, I will, pal.

You're a fucking idiot

>cheap sitar

Enjoy not being able to tune it.

Be careful who you talk shit about.

do you want me to list the other 80k band that used bass players instead of "literraly who"s ?
Dont tell me you actually use your arms to play ?? youtu.be/lGm96vFvmxk
