The more I think about it, Attack of the Clones is the best Star Wars movie. It managed to masterfully blend a story about forbidden romance, political intrigue, and an unconventional conflict of good versus evil into a Shakespearean masterpiece. I believe the disdain for it stems mostly from disappointment of The Phantom Menace (which is still an underrated film, mind you).

I saw this movie in the theater opening night. No one knew what the fuck was going on and who the various characters were. We did grasp that the CGI, fight scenes, and acting were all terrible.

The Phantom Menace is personally my favorite.

Its easily the best prequel

and its better than TFA by a longshot

4=5=6>2>3>1>7

It sucked.

What is this?

Why was the CGI in Clones and Sith so flat and low res compared to other movies at the time?

From my point of view, this is a butt.

no one knows.

This. Something about Attack really captivates and intrigues me as one of the best Star Wars films.

It just looks too... shiny

because you're a nostalgia whore

>wow some parts of the movie has CGI that hasn't aged well so the entire thing is crap
this meme has to die

the script is dogshit.

...

I don't like sand, it's corse and rough and gets everywhere, but you, your not like sand.

This is truly Shakespearean dialogue.

...

It really shows that he didn't understand the movie's themes and nuances, when his best criticisms are cherry-picked clips of dated special effects.
Plebs will be plebs.

...

>Anakin: I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM!

theres literally nothing wrong with that besides being low res

Oh much more than the script is dog shit.

It's not just that the cgi hasn't aged well it's that it's used in nearly every shot in the film which gives the film an incredibly fake and sterile look. The first Star Wars films were very gritty and dirty and that edge is completing removed from the prequels in favor of a bland dull fabricated look that lacks any emotion and style.

it fits coruscant

and kamino genosis and mustafar all worked

>The first Star Wars films were very gritty and dirty
Because of the rise of the Empire the galaxy had regressed into shit.

why aren't we discussing the butt? i, for one, reverse image searched it and ended up watching a couple of gopro videos of butts on bikes

>Because of the rise of the Empire the galaxy had regressed into shit.
Um no, don't believe the fucking RIDF. The Galactic Empire pushed the galaxy forward thousands of years. Only outterrim shitholes were left behind

I honestly don't know what's real anymore.

Pushed the Galaxy into further entropy

Lol that's like really and Christian apologetics

You are just wrong none of the sets from any of the films are actually immersive which is a massive flaw in a space adventure film like Star Wars. And try and tell me he wa trying to make it more mature because than why did he have stuff like jar jar in it.

What are you trying to prove?

Id rather go study attack of the clones and watch it five times than watch the force awakens again

*bad apologetics

that's just your shit taste talking, nobody sane would do this.

novel ROTS>>>TPM>ROTS> Shit>AOTC

Seriously , why wasent the rots book used for the movie? It was one of the best stories to come out of Star Wars

> anakin has an actual reason for turning
> grevious a mad combination of Rommel and the joker
> republic is getting BTFO for the last year of the war, anakin, obi and Sheev are the only guys holding it from falling to pieces
> based dooku
> separatist Jews getting hacked to peices

>the force awakens is good because critics told me so
>the force awakens is good because I know good film when I see it
which one faggot

Jesus Christ

Friendly reminder there is the following exchange in the book:
>Nute Gunray: Lord Sidious promised us peace!
>Anakin Skywalker: There was a glitch in the transmission. He meant you'd be left in pieces.

Ep 2 is the second worst film in the whole series fucktard.

Only thing worse is TFA but most fans don't consider it canon anyways.

both

...

>but most fans don't consider it canon anyways

nice fan-fiction

Lmao as if on cue

>2016
>critics
>you
>analyzing film

I love this image but it would be way more effective if the dudes head was just changed to the Sup Forums logo and/or tumblr logo

>hes a daisyfag
Nice shit waifu

you're lucky Rian Johnson might save things

The Phantom Menace is the best prequel, if not the 2nd best Star Wars after Empire.

>Perfect blend of practical effects and CGI, whereas II and III are nothing but CGI and as a result look ugly as fuck
>All that imagination and creativity, from the different worlds and species to showing us the origins of different characters from the OT
>Darth Maul was actually menacing and wasn't comical or shoehorned in
>Final battle was hella epic, only matched by Anakin vs Obi-Wan and Vader vs Luke on Bespin
>Pod race = pure kino
>Jar Jar wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says and if you believe the "Jar Jar is a sith theory" then literally every little thing he does is planned out and requires rewatching to notice everything
>Literally 16 years in the making, meaning George put all of his heart and soul into it
>Filmed on actual film instead of digital, meaning it'll always look better than II or III even when converted to Blu-Ray/4k
>Began a brand new era of Star Wars, both IRL and in-universe

People only hate on TPM because it's the "cool" thing to do, but in reality AotC is much worse. Episode I gives us a classic Star Wars tale of a bunch of different characters coming together to help save the galaxy. Episode II was literally nothing but Padme and Anakin falling in love and build-up to Episode III.

Even back in 1999 people loved Episode I. The only reason it gets such hatred today is from angry Star Wars neckbeards who insist it ruined the series because it wasn't exactly like the original 3 (Yet they ironically praise TFA as being "better than the prequels" despite it literally being a shot-for-shot remake of Episode IV). The Phantom Menace felt fresh despite being a prequel, and if you can ignore the fanboyism it's a fucking great film that doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

This, even though after watching this video

I agree with the point he makes that the focus of the story should be obiwan and not anakin. Also having r2d2 and c3po was completely unnecessary and created a lot of plot holes for the series.

rotj and star wars are better than tpm

Gungans > Ewoks

TPM is best star kino

(WAKE ME UP)
