Simple thread: pick the best one

Meat Is Murder
Hatful of Hollow
Damn OP, why do you have to make me choose
I'd say Strangeways if I had to pick
Hatful is better than all of them but comps dont count
The Queen is Dead
Meat is Murder.
this
This.
But if I have to pick from studio albums, Meat is Murder.
>Hatful of Hollow
>The Smiths
>The Queen is Dead
>Meat is Murder
>Rank
>Louder Than Bombs
>The World Wont listen
>Troy Tate Recordings
>Morrisey's Solo work
>We were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
>Andy Rourke's Heroin Addiction
>Strangeways Here We Come
Strangeways isn't bad. It's not. But I feel like the other 3 albums, and compilations, are such stronger albums.
this
vote here famalams
Strangeways is my favorite for being the most varied of all their albums even though it's less consistent, and it hits the highest highs in my opinion
I hope Meat is Murder prevails in the end.
>there's more to life then smiths you know but not much more
It will. Of the studio albums, it's the strongest batch of songs.
I always found it extremely ironic that their B-sides were always their best material heh.
The Cure > The Smiths
the queen is dead
contrarians fuck off
after that comes either the s/t or meat is murder, they fluctuate for me
then comes strangeways, because strangeways is trash and people only say it's the best because they wanna seem ~unique~ and ~special~
Tfw you like something but you're told you're a contrarian because user doesn't like it
>people only say it's the best because they wanna seem ~unique~ and ~special~
Oh piss off. It took a different direction hence most Smiths fans not rating it as highly but it's certainly not trash.
The smiths... it's hard to acknowledge their existence, especially when you have the cure.
Strangeways isnt the best but it's my favourite
>strangeways is trash and people only say it's the best because they wanna seem ~unique~ and ~special~
fuck off. Strangeways is my least favourite, I think it's their weakest LP, but it is absolutely not trash.
The Queen is Dead.
Their best release by far is Louder than Bombs though.
S/T objectively has the best songwriting
literally this
that is not true for Miserable Lie alone. What the fuck was going on in Moz's mind when he recorded those Mickey Mouse vocals?
Miserable Lie is an outlier. The rest is stellar
Still Ill > anything else they ever recorded
so that automatically makes S/T their best
The Queen is Dead
hatful of hollow
>tfw the first minute of the song is perfect and then it goes down the shitter
Strangeways
Sums up a lot of mu.
>Thinking that heathens is the best bowie album unironically
Which one has This Charming Man on it?
they do now because I said so
This but Meat is Murder is the best studio album
Queen Is Dead > S/T = Strangeways > Meat Is Murder
you literally cant prove this wrong
...
tqid = hatful of hollow > meat is murder = s/t > strangeways
meat is murder and s/t have too many filler tracks, even if headmaster ritual and reel around the fountain are absolutely amazing. the only shitty track on tqid is never had no one ever.
Meat Is Murder
meat is murder is only so well regarded because it has a cool cover; the rest of their cover art is really weird.
my favorite bowie albums are space oddity and diamond dogs. not super contrarian, but not everyone thinks hunky dory ziggy and low are the best.
why do so many people like hatful of hollow so much? i always thought it was just alright but not exactly their best
desu it makes me think this is a result of Sup Forumsdrones following the essentials charts/hivemind, since they always rank hatful of hollow above all for whatever reason
louder than bombs
i think you just hate good music
appalling bait
Because it has their best songs on it
would you?
This man gets it
Definitely Queen Is Dead.
This Charming Man > Better than that whole goddamn album though

Meat is Murder > The Queen is Dead > S/T > Strangeways, Here We Come
It has some of their best tracks, but I like the John Peel Sessions better. They're more hookish.
William it was Really Nothing is an amazing opener, Back to the Old House is an overlooked song, and it was the first lp release of Please, please, please.
All of those are on Louder Than Bombs.
Their best compilation.
queen is dead
It has the singles I mentioned, but it doesn't have the first Peel sessions.
Louder Than Bombs also has Golden Lights which everyone else thinks is their worst song.
>tfw jeane never made it onto either of the comps people give a shit about
Yeah, that's a misstep for sure, but for the most part it has all the best too and it's what really got me into them.
To be fair Half A Person is great and Asleep is up there with There is a Light.
The quen is dead
Miserable Lie is not that bad, the falsettos are a nice break from the baritone, something like Unloveable is so much worse, one of the few songs by them that genuinely has nothing going for it
vote is for s/t
lolwut
Except for the "wear black on the outside" line there is p much nothing wrong with Unloveable. Classic Moz vocal.
>still pretending hatful of hollow is a comp
... there's not a single album only release. Some of the John Peel sessions were recorded and aired before the first album even came out.
the cure might have better singles but the smiths are more consistent
I'm usually accepting of opinions, but that particular opinion triggered me. Bowie has ten other albums that are better than Heathens although Heathens is a decent album.
Diamonds dogs is great. I like a lot of songs on there that aren't even good, but still enjoyable. e.g Rock and Roll with me
Self-titled or Meat.
Anyone else think Louder Than Bombs is better than Hatful of Hollow?
