Their discography is pretty consistent for the most part. If you enjoyed Houdini, you'll find other albums of their that you'll also enjoy

pisses me off that Lysol isn't on spotify

is it? I was looking at rym and it tells a different story

Boris - Heavy Rocks

I've always wondered what the Melvins are like, haven't listened to much in the way of metal aside from Sleep and Vektor. Please enlighten me.

Just listen to it, bruh.

this

I'm usually kinda precocious about going head in, ya' know. You only get to listen to an album for the first time once, I suppose still I may as well, let's see what happens.

rym are dumb fucking nerds.
melvins are a mixed bag in a good way
for hardcore heavy melvins with shorter songs listen to gluey porch treatments and 10 songs.
4 a closer sound to houdini u gotta check out stoner witch and lysol

How did everyone like Crystal Fairy? I liked it a lot more my second time.

You must be kinda "precocious" about learning what words mean before you use them as well.

*precarious.

That's not much better.

>At least like 10 albums with a 3.5+ rating
>Not consitent
Listen to Bullhead and then Stoner Witch
If you like Bullhead, listen to everything before it and Lysol
If you like Stoner Witch, listen to stag and a Senile animal

ive never gotten in2 her singing desu, im a fan of alot of what omar does, but i couldnt get through that bosnian rainbows album, but i do really like th recent melvins albums esp basses loaded and the solo album buzzo did was fantastic. im gonna listen soon though, mabey l8r 2day.

I-its not like I use big words in order to make me look smart or anything!

Nothing wrong with wanting to make your vocabulary more colorful

Thankyou user, sorry for my stupidity.

Except instead of saying "colorful," he would have said "ostensible."

eggnog, mate

Gazebo Penguins - Wes Anderson

Definitely check out:
Melvins - Lysol
Melvins - Stag
Boris - Amplifier Worship
Sleep - Sleep's Holy Mountain

sleep are pretty boring imo just listen to om

Also, if you like to get a little weird,
Harvey Milk - My Love Is Higher than Your Assessment of What My Love Could Be
Harvey Milk - Courtesy and Good Will Toward Men
Thrones - Sperm Whale/White Rabbit
Thrones - Day Late, Dollar Short

Dude...

It's unfortunate that you have this opinion, but he still should listen to it either way

these are good recs.
also the first few big business albums. and jucifer - if thine enemy hunger
om is way better than sleep. dopesmoker is a total snoozefest.

>Anything as good as this?

Yes, other Melvins albums. As someone who is probably the biggest Melvins fan on Sup Forums, here is a list of the albums you need to hear (listed in chronological order for convenience):

Gluey Porch Treatments
Ozma
Bullhead
Eggnog
Lysol
Houdini
Stoner Witch
The Maggot
(A) Senile Animal
Split EP with ISIS
Nude With Boots
The Bride Screamed Murder
The Bulls and the Bees
Freak Puke
Everybody Loves Sausages

Should I listen in chronological order or skip straight to Houdini then listen in said order?

Om is one of my favorites, I could listen Al noodle around on bass all day. And I could understand not having the patience for Dopesmoker, but have you listened to Sleep's Holy Mountain? It's a whole different animal.

Not that guy but I'd start with Houdini and if you want to go heavier stuff, work backwards from there and if you want catchier stuff, work forward.

Start with Houdini and then work your way around the catalog however you wish.

A caveat: not every Melvins album sounds like Houdini, and as you go forward in their discography (anything after Houdini), you'll find that they get more...weird...as time goes on. But if you like Houdini, here are the other albums by them you'd like:

Lysol, Bullhead, (A) Senile Animal, Nude With Boots, Stoner Witch, The Maggot

>Harvey Milk - My Love Is Higher than Your Assessment of What My Love Could Be
Just listening to this for the first time, this is awesome. I need to recommend this to my friend who loves metal.
I'm surprised Scaruffi didn't rate this 8.5/10, because that's exactly the kind of music he digs, but he still wrote a long review of it after all.
