Rust in Peace - Megadeth
Virtually everything Black Sabbath up until Mob Rules

Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley
Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill
>inb4 Pantera are plebeian
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Tool - Lateralus
Opeth - Blackwater Park

This album is fucking trash

Actual God Tier Metal albums:
>Master of Puppets
>Ride The Lightning
>...And Justice For All
>Paranoid
>Master of Reality
>Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
>Rust In Peace
>Panopticon
>Leviathan
>Remission
>Times of Grace
>Reign In Blood

>Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
>metal

>Metallica
>good

Isn't past your bedtime kid?

Coroner - Punishment for Decadence

...

...

Only correct post in this thread

>didn't start the list with Ride The Lightning
let me just tell you something

neck yourself

>he thinks the list is in some kind of order

wew

Sorry didn't realize Porcupine Tree are categorized as Post-Punk Revival

They are heavy prog rock not metal

> Alice in Chains - Dirt
> Cryptopsy - None So Vile
> Death - Leprosy
> Death - Symbolic
> Judas Priest - Defender of the Faith
> Mercyful Fate - Melissa
> Motörhead - Inferno
> Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
> Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar

drun k list:

death - symbolic
blut aus nor - memori vista 2
ihsahn - after
metallica - ride the lightning
children of bodom - hatebreeder
protest the hero - fortress
obscura - cosmogenesis
krallice - years past matter
mastodon - leviathan

...

Porc Tree is progressive and Kyuss is stoner/desert rock

>Defender of the Faith
That's one of the worst JP albums
Point of Entry, Screaming for Vengeance and British Steel are all far superior early 80s Priest.

How can you call Defenders of the Faith shit and then say that Point of Entry is better in any way?

>Symbolic
>Not ITP

Saw Throat - Inde$troy
Eyehategod - In the Name of Suffering
Torture Chain - Mutilating Astral Entities
Dystopia - Human = Garbage
Esoteric - Metamorphogenesis

Of the 3 I listed PoE is the weakest but still better than Defenders. What made you pick that particular album anyway? It seems such an odd choice given all of the ones to pick from that are far more deserving.
Sad Wings
Sin After Sin
Unleashed
Stained Class

Like it but AIC isn't metal
and you missed this one

Isn't Dirt mostly Grunge Metal?

A shit ton of those albums aren't even metal. Heart? Fucking Heart? C'mon man. I always thought Scaruffi was a hack. This just confirms it.

>grunge metal
Are we just making up genres now?

Well you never hear it called Grunge Rock

WTF are you talking about. I've always heard it referred to grunge or grunge rock. Even just metal (rarely) but never grunge metal.

It is painfully obvious that the post you are replying to is bait.

Sure Metallica is a joke now, but if they had stopped after Cliff died and hadn't released a string of painfully cringe albums, they would be revered as one of the greatest metal bands by Sup Forums

>should have been Lars

i forgot to add i only listen to true 'underground' stuff like lamb of god, five finger death punch and children of bodom
>pic related: its me

Great albums posted here so far, im gonna go add some some i havent seen posted yet.
>necrophagist - epitaph
>gorguts - obscura
>silencer - death- pierce me
>metallica - kill em all
>Demilich - nesphite
>Darkthrone - a blaze in the northern sky
>xasthur - telepathic with the deceased
>skepticism - stormcrowfleet
> sunn O))) - black one
> portal - outre
> nile - annihilation of the wicked
> napalm death - time waits for no slave
>monstrousity - millenium
> disembowelment - transcendence into the peripheral
> dragged into sunlight - hatred for mankind
> between the buried and me - colors
> shining - V
> mayhem - deathcrush

long haired fedoralords will disagree but this is the best thrash metal album

that's not bonded by blood

Bounded by blood is damn good too, can't disagree with you there. I like KIll 'Em All and Show No Mercy better though.

I wouldn't consider more than half of these "god tier."

Epitaph, Annihilation of the Wicked, Outre, Time Waits for No Slave, Black One, and Deathcrush are all decent or good, but no where near god tier. That's just a few of them

Agreed. Kill em all and reign in blood are what thrash is with no acoustic wank or soft fillers

youtube.com/watch?v=VlUP9NoNBKo

Which ones would you consider god tier? I think theyre all pretty much objectively perfect but i do have a bias as they are all albums i personally really enjoy

The ones of your list that I would consider god tier are Nespithe, Obscura, Kill 'em All, V (I assume you're talking about "Halmstad"), and Stormcrowfleet

Makes sense. I guess records like death-pierce me and telepathic with the deceased are hindered by the fact you need to know what the people who are making it were going through at the time to fully appreciate it. Also i think outre is damaged by being too niche and epitaph is only regarded as a masterpiece because of the instrumental talent involved. Bonus points for liking obscura and stormcrowfleet though, you seem like a cool guy

I've never really liked Necrophagist at all, but generally love Techdeath. I saw the list was mainly Black Metal, you have any recommendations that aren't well known?

not bad

I dont really dig that deep for my music, but you may not have heard of diocletian, tsjuder, exiled from light, urgehal or striborg. (Even though they are faily well known by the bm community)

Forgot to rec specific albums, but all of those bands discographies are pretty consistant

...

>Disso
>Skeletons
>Only album in discography
10/10

I'm simultaneously sad and glad they only released one album

AiC is alternate metal

everything by Portal
