Remember to use clyp.it to post your tracks/WIP: posting a clyp.it is just providing sound for a question, posting a Soundcloud link is making self-advertisement and the thread doesn't need that.
I wanted to make a track that could feel somewhere between something organic and something synthetic. So I guess it's ambient house or something, I don't know. Tell me if I need to correct something, I'm especially shit at mixing and stuff
Sebastian Sanchez
Don't post here if you're shit. Kys fag, and gtfo.

this is cool sounds like aphex twin and boards of canada clyp.it/l5043aoa am I Justice yet??

Yo, this sounds really great for a beginner man. You can do a bit more to spice things up. Also sounds a bit too quiet. But yeah this is pretty fuckin good.
I recently discovered that putting drum and foley sounds in individual audio tracks (as opposed to just having them all in a drum rack) makes them sound so much better for some reason. That's how I got all the wierd scratchy percussion for this track.
Jackson Young
Yeah this is good. Reminds me a lot of Aphex Twin.
It's really quiet but other than that sounds great.
>listen to someone better than me at making music >give up why even try really

Simply goddamn amazing man. I'd say master it louder but this shit can get EASILY featured on one of those famous youtube channels like syrebral vibes or suicide sheep or majestic casual. Do something with this it's fuckin amazing man. Also at 2:17 it sounds like 2 of your chords are clashing, and in general I don't know if this part fits with the rest of the track before that.
The intro was fuckin sweet but the rest is way too distorted and out of key.
Because if you don't try you'll never get better.
Jaxon Garcia
The kick that comes in around the the 1:30 mark has too much high end. I think maybe a nice 808 would sound better. Also the snare sounds really generic EDM-y. Just a personal preference but I hate when """future bass"""/trap producers use basic drums like that.
Really cool track tho. The main drop part is sick. Some really cool percussion in there.
Parker Butler
first guy you replied tho. Thanks a lot for the support man! Honestly means a lot to hear that from a stranger. I find it so hard to judge my music objectively after working on it for so long.
Yeah I tried to force in another rhodes sample in there. Will have a mess around with transposing it to sound better
Charles James
Anybody here making IDM. I'm working on an Autechre style track with lots of percussive elements and textures( no link because I'm still sequencing it). Any tips for that typeof production?
Jace Roberts
I'm a young new producer from Argentina, i make my beats out of life experiencies.
In this one i've sampled Chance the Rapper's XXL freestyle and added a chill beat with nice jazzy piano samples
Trying to figure out the best way to add some bass to this. Considering using my actual bass for once.
Joseph Lewis
It sounds like random pads playing random notes all mashed together, sometimes it sounds harmonious sometimes it gets too much. 7 minutes of this is way too much.
Holy shit man, those fuckin strings and yeah, an acoustic bass would probably go great with this. What did you sample?
Parker Williams
Henry Mancini and a couple collected breakbeats.
Julian Rivera
Unrelated but if those strings are Henry Mancini that means that John Williams probably arranged those.
Christopher Allen

Jaxson Jackson
how do you guys deal with the "i just looped 4 bars from some jazz song, put drums over it and now I feel like a talentless hack" syndrome?
also where did you guys learn theory, you all make some pretty funky shit
Why does Live 9 sometimes play a note way louder than the others and lowering the velocity doesn't really do anything? Is there a way to fix it?
Camden Wright
I'm not sure how the parts are connected. I think the first part just sounds like you thought I'll make a minimal techno-modern classical track, but it's not a very considered blend. Specifically, I'm not a fan of the stuttered percussion which lets you know it's not real and sorta breaks the drums out of the rest of the song.I don't how you would develop the idea, but its begging for some big 'n low trombones to burst in. Second part sounds like it's about to be obnoxiously catchy if you want to push it in that direction. Both parts are pretty unique, but it doesn't really feel like it has a defining idea yet.
Alexander Reyes
I made a remix of that Rhianna X Calvin harris track but with pleb filters clyp.it/exesa44d
Nathaniel Garcia
Interesting. I know he worked as a member of Mancini's orchestra but I've not heard of Williams ghostwriting for him.
Sebastian Lopez
That wasn't a fake vinyl noise man, it's from a sample haha
Gavin Stewart
What about this? My first try in something slower. It's live and all analog. clyp.it/wtji0aez
found my 4 years old project Sup Forums is into such stuff as i know
Landon Wilson
That's nice I'd like to try to do something with these drum, can you upload wav?
Robert Perez
Any feedback is appreciated, but I'm mostly looking for tips on how to make the composition more interesting and coherent. Also, I feel like the melodies are too cheesy. What do you guys think?
Alesis v125 is an amazing value at less than $200, pads are super responsive and the beta version of ableton has native support. Semi weighted keys too feel nice and I have a small desk so this fits well. Looked at the m-audio code 25 too but although cooler, was more expensive and people said they had issues. That said, the maschine is the best I've played but I'm not made of money. A good computer I find goes a lot further than a midi controller.
Josiah Turner
Add more movement... Hits w long reverb sound nice and filter sweeps on your snare maybe over time to build up, don't particularly like deep house cause of that droning feeling like im on a musical hamster wheel... I always want something else to happen instead of the next verse of the same thing w different parts
Benjamin Ortiz
not bad, however, you really need to make the bassline stand out during the heavier sections, the bass should be focus of the track. Could also use a little more variation.
Sounds very amateurish right now, could use some better drums. I like it when the distortion comes in though.
Some of the notes are not timed correctly. Synth needs some eq. Kick sounds like a fart honestly.
The afx influence is very apparent here, which isn't a bad thing. It's good for a beginner, keep practicing. The track needs an evolving element though, I sat there waiting for something to happen for the most part.
The synth you're using needs more bass to do what you're going for. The sample needs some eq (cut out some of the highs). Some cowbells would add to the rhythm here.
This is really good.
It has potential, but some of the effects feel out of place, the distortion for example as someone else mentioned. Work on your music theory.
This was really good to me, since it's a style I enjoy a lot. Made me think of Oceans's 11.
It feels like you're forcing yourself to create. Like there's not really a direction you're going into. I'd say if you're a beginner/novice, try to find some artists that inspire you and study how they build tracks.
Not a bad drum loop.
super excellent my man keep it up xd
Needs eq on the highs. Work on the composition. Find new drums.
Eq out the click from the kick, or find a new one. Softer kicks are better for the genre you're going for. The bassline is nice but could use some variety every once in a while.
Sounds very rich. Needs a better climax. Kick needs some eq in my opinion

Hey, im trying to make some 8 mbs albums. What is the best way to do this effectively? Thanks
