YEAH IT FEEEEEEEEELS LIKE SUMMER
YEAH IT FEEEEEEEEELS LIKE SUMMER
I don't think it's a bad song
Really?
It's definitely different from what Weezer has put out in the past, but I think it's catchy and I don't wanna hate on them for experimenting with different styles
It's a shit Weezer song and an even shittier Pop song. If some unknown new artist put out the same song nobody would give a fuck and it would be a flop.
...
It's not good, but it's not as bad as a lot of what they've put out. I can listen to it the whole way through at least. If this is just a one-off on the album I could still see the album turning out well. I couldn't imagine Rivers at his worst trying to do a whole album of Electropop.
I hope you are right about this song being a one-off. I want more Pinkerton style stuff
BEVERLY
Just listened to it. Not great. Not good even. Passable.
I think it's time for Sup Forums to accept that weezer will never be as good as its peak. They're all getting old. Out of touch. Rivers at his best is when he was being honest with himself. Unfortunately, either he's changed to become a boring musician and this is him being honest, or he's being dishonest. Either way, It will get one week of radio playtime and quickly disappear, just like almost everything they've made since Pinkerton.
White album sucked too. Don't understand why Sup Forums likes it. His boner for Brian Wilson went too far. But even that sounded better than this normie pop trash.
much like the new avalanches album
HILLS
What the fuck are you implying with that post user?
>white album sucked too
Wrong
the reason everyone's still flipping out about it is because White Album was really good. Almost on par with Blue/Pink era Weezer.
Meh. I get it is kinda a return to form for them, but I think at this point its too late for them. Its a shame. I they prove me wrong one day.
DELTE
Their best music was from a time when Alternative Rock was still somewhat new and exciting to the mainstream. Their best lyric were from a time when Rivers was young and insecure and trying to figure out who he was as a person.
Now they're middle age millionaires with nothing left to prove. Rivers is happily married with a child and is probably content with life and the person that he is. Musically they're outdated.
It would literally be impossible for them to make something like Pinkerton again because even if they tried their absolute hardest it would be disingenuous as fuck and part of the charm of early Weezer was the blunt emotional honesty.
>but I think at this point its too late for them.
>I they prove me wrong one day.
But how can they prove you wrong if you believe it's too late for them? You just admitted they returned to form so what more do you want?
I didn't. I think they are too far gone, but I would love to be surprised.
They can return to form but likesaid and I said earlier, any attempt at returning to form would be a shallow attempt.
was meant for
>I get it is kinda a return to form for them
>but i'm not admitting it's a return to form for them
Oh I gotcha
I CAN'T WAIT TILL SUMMER CUZ IT'S GONNA BE A SUMMER OF LOVE
I agree. If it becomes a hit and I start hearing it everywhere I won't mind.
You now realize that the lyrics are about a man grieving over the death of his lover
I CAN'T STOP
PARTYIN' PARTYIN'
Are you retarded? I'm not arguing whether or not its a return to form, I'm saying that they can't go back to the old ways and have it sound genuine or exciting. And when they try to stray from the tried and true blue/white album sound, we get shit like feels like summer
>kinda a return to form
>i'm not saying it's a return to form
Hey bruh, your words not mine
I think Rivers' goal is to release a modern sounding Pop song and have it become a surprise hit. He wants to be relevant and be seen as someone who can adapt to what is popular now.
Is it just me or does his voice sound weird with the music? Like there's a definitely a genuine modern Pop feel to it, but his voice doesn't work at all. If he gave this song to The Chainsmokers it might have actually worked.
Don't you dare make fun of Rivers' tweets
i have yet to see a weezer fan justify this
>you are saying its a return to form
>"well yeah it is, just not a good one"
>why are you saying its not a return to form then?
>"I never said that"
>Wh-what are you trying to say user? My four year old reading comprehension skills can't handle your post!
I can do it too. Grow a brain, brainlet. Whether they try to adapt or regress, they're fucked. Stop putting words in my mouth.
that would be literal hell for me
>that black family laughing at them
Name one post-Pinkerton Weezer single that didn't suck.
I NEED SOME AXE BODY SPRAY
>that black family
i'm pretty sure the people in the backseat are not their kids
Island in the Sun unironiclaly.
ewbaite was pretty good
back to the shack lied to me
nothing wrong on weezers part, commercial was just absolute shit
hip hip
If you're looking for a band to recapture the fun poppy rock n roll/punk of early Weezer, just listen to Rocket From The Crypt. I just read an old interview where Rivers asked RFTC to tour with them after Pinkerton came out, they couldn't because of scheduling conflicts. Pat and the drummer of Rocket also formed a band called The Special Goodness.
I SAID I NEED SOME AXE BODY SPRAY
