Can someone explain why people like Death Grips? I listened to some of their songs. The production sounds like 2 crackheads fucked on top of a keyboard while accidentally leaving Audacity on. The vocals sound like someone translated an essay from English into French then into Arabic then into Chinese then into Swedish, then back into English, randomized the words, and read them aloud. This isn't bait, I legitimately want to know what the redeeming qualities of Death Grips are. Does Sup Forums and Fantano like them as a joke or something?
Can someone explain why people like Death Grips? I listened to some of their songs...
why don't you explain it
you have them saved after all
Death Grips are fucking weird, when I listen to their song they seem like they last forever even if they're 3 minutes long. Really don't get the hype behind these guys.
It's an acquired taste. But it takes a while to get into them.
I went onto their Spotify, I didn't save any of that garbage
If you don't like DG try Zach and Andy's side project the ILYs
You won't like them at first but they will click.

why are plebs so bad at using humourous descriptions?
Death Grips is the new metal/punk rock. It's a new sort of abrassive music that gradually grows on you as you learn its rhythms and patterns.
It's hip hop technically, but doesn't really feel like urban hip hop, which makes it appeal to a lot of Sup Forums's pasty suburban white boy demographic.
it's a dgfag falceflagging
death grips is for plebs
it's sorta constricting and claustrophobic. lotsa pent up self hate, and it's like they want you to hate them too. tickles the eardums. the drumming on some tracks is really primal, the vocals too, but all in a cold digital way.
wow that's fucking spregy
when I first listened to them I didn't like them. But I kept listening to more of their songs and paying attention to the lyrics and now I love them.
Death Grips is the new nu-metal*
This.
This, except their version of hip hop, punk and industrial is very different from the genres as a whole, to the point where it's better to classify them as their own thing. Kinda like Ween.
I shat on them for a while and thought they were a meme, without actually listening to an album through. The production is absolutely bonkers, Idk what you're saying, sounds so crisp and unlike anything I've ever heard before. My main gripe is I wish I could decipher what ride is saying more clearly, but it also adds a lot to its appeal, raw and visceral. The fact that he's actually quite soft spoken irl shows how therapeutic and cathartic it all is to him, as well. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's always nice to see someone spill all their emotions, angers, and frustrations into music and art in general.
trips confirm
But metal sucks
...
yes
death grips is the new nu-metal
if anything, they're the glorified new limp bizkit or slipknot
Yeah I agree. Listen to Captain Beefheart instead, OP.
I think it's more comparable to punk than metal.
I think it's more comparable to nu-metal than metal in general or punk.
oh i thought the blue checkmark meant saved
dont force yourself to like them. they just arent for you.
next.
>loving them after you started paying attention to the lyrics
It means the artist is verified to work around impersonators, even though spotify controls what goes on their platform
>it doesn't make sense, just don't ask
>>etc
are the newfriends here?
it's a new thing to have people talking about listening to death grip for the first time now...
...
Yeah, death grips are fucking trash.
What album did you listen to? I wouldn't listen to a mix of their songs at random.
