ITT: artists you used to like, then hated, and now think are alright
corporate indie is soroscore
>being this controlled by the court of public opinion
i already expect this new album to get 8's from p4k and anthony
I just hate his fans who poorly emulate him and killed Los Angeles music scene and the critical acclaim he gets for making uninventive but pleasant music
...
>your opinion of an artist is affected by the quality of their fans
Nirvana is the obligatory answer.
As someone who lives in Long Beach I completely understand.
Every band out here ages 17-22 seems to either wanna be Growlers or J-Dilla-lite
yeah
I'll +1 this.
I probably listened to 2 over 500 times back in late 2012/early 2013.
Now if someone puts him on that's fine but idk, salad days was pretty good but everything else has been meh.
Saw him live in 2014 and again last year and holy shit the second time sucked. He kind of hates playing live now it seems too he was so happy and innocent seeming back in 2014, with his thumb up his ass.
Tame Impala
In summer 2015 at the place I lived at my roommate played Currents nonstop and at first I hated it, but it grew on me over time. Kevin Parker's falsetto bothered me so much the first 50 times I heard it and ruined the whole album for me. I don't know if I would've ended up liking that album at all if it wasn't for me being forced to listen to it.
dude even WHY THE GROWLERS garage rock is my bread and butter and even i can see they are some cookie cutter bullshit group
I actually like him nowadays more than I did before I started to hate him.
>gu-guyse he kisses dudes ;_;
hating Mac Demarco is just a Sup Forums meme people spout mindlessly to distance themselves from more basic indie fans. there's nothing wrong with Mac and people who actively hate him are fucking try hards
This.
Nah, I really do fucking hate him.
I don't hate him his fan base are artificial teenagers you insecure nu male
Now father john misty I actually hate, epitome of a tryhard
Tame Impala got really fucking bastardized by normies after Innerspeaker
...
>epitome of a tryhard
FJM doesn't take himself half as seriously as people accuse him to do.
this
>first album
Really because everytime I've ever read in interview with him ever he seems totally fucking insufferable.
Remember how ten years ago people said Wilco is for aging hipster dads? FJM is now filling that niche.
At least Wilco put out a classic record once.
I know the whole band is based around kool pzixdelik drugz, but there were some of us that actually listened to "It Is Not Meant To Be" for the lyrics, you know
Wilco are pretty nice and breezy esp in comparison with that corporate douche
