Most of stephen king films suck

>via 9gag.com

Do you think they will include the underage child orgy scene this time?

explain

>All stephen king books suck
fixed that for you

Read the fucking book, fuckface.

Not that guy, but no self respecting intellectual would polute his mind by even reading a single sentence written by King.

Satan, we know you're jealous, but man, you got beat.

Suck it, he even evaded your demons you sent to kill him and made that into a badass book too.

I like the part where it's Mike Hanlon's turn, and since Bev's pussy was all blown out from just being fucked by the other guys, he goes for the butthole.

This. 9gag is filled, among other things, with fan-made posters.

Then what the fuck are you doing in this thread, retard?

Is this a meme? That Stephen King is a terrible writer? Seems like simple enough bait...

In the book the main characters all run a train on the female character when they are kids so that they can remember their memories or some shit

You can't adapt a Stephen King book as a movie. They're all bad. Only Shining has an honorable mention thanks to Jack Nicholson.

who the fuck did they even cast as pennywise since they dropped the fuck from breaking bad?

also, it's gonna be shit

imdb.com/name/nm0803889/?ref_=tt_cl_t1

This is going to be really bad...

>no Tim Curry

....shawshank

I can't be the only one who wasn't scared by the original

Pennywise was just too damn entertaining to be frightening

>we will never get the Cary Jo Fukanaga miniseries

The Shining was NOTHING like the book though

it was hyper bullshitted and made into a separate entity all together

>Is this a meme? That Stephen King is a terrible writer?
No, that's just a fact.

i was really rooting for that guy from breaking bad too, he seemed like he had potential, maybe not as pennywise but they were shilling his audition as being scary and whatnot

Every Kings based movies are nothing like the books. Because you can't adapt them.

Apt pupil
Shawshank
Shining
Green mile
Firestarter
Dolores Claiborne
Misery
Storm of the Century
Secret Window
Carrie (original)
Dark Half
thinner
Hearts in Atlantis
Stand By Me
The Mist
Needful Things
Running Man
Secret Window
1408

All decent, fàm

This is a remake I get. The original is popular but like this user says most of them look like they are done on the cheap.

IT with a proper budget and production could be cool

Which Breaking Bad actor are you talking about?

...

>I read book thus I'm an intellectual. This writer is mainstream so it's shit because I'm different and superior. The door is red, what did he mean by this ? Let's analyze that so I can discuss it at my next meeting with my small circle of superior intellectual.

We got it user, you're special. His style is boring though, gotta admit that.

Christine

h8ers gonna h8

Satan speaks the truth

I haven't seen Christine so I didn't include it.

Not-Matt Damon

Anyone who seriously devotes themselves to reading will never defend Stephen King's writing.

>Thinking you can make a better remake without Tim Curry
>Tim Curry who was so fucking scary they had to get him to tone it down
>Tim Curry who was freaking out other members of the cast and crew

OH BOY, CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS NON MOVIE

fair enough

>Anyone who seriously devotes themselves to reading

I told you we got it, you're special. Good for you user.

I got to admit, the cover art they have for this looks really good

kek

he was best girl in the series by far though

This sounds an awful lot like how people are reacting to Leto on Suicide Squad, desu

checked

>Tim Curry who was so fucking scary they had to get him to tone it down
>Tim Curry who was freaking out other members of the cast and crew

how stupid are you? we have jared leto to do those things for us now

why does he look like a robot ape?

Eh, the first few Dark Tower books are okay, before they become trash. The Shining. The Stand. Actually, I think that's it

>>Tim Curry who was freaking out other members of the cast and crew
source of this stuff?

woooah, another terrifying day on set with Jared, he's so good, we're actually scared XDXD #suicidesquad #insane #mgf

IT is better than The Stand.

so how would they know it's bad if they don't read a single sentence? are they just as stupid as Sup Forums is with film?

wat

>we have jared leto
NICE TIMELY MEME

>Tim Curry who was so fucking scary they had to get him to tone it down
>Tim Curry who was freaking out other members of the cast and crew

MOMS GONNA FREAK

And you still managed to leave off Pet Semetary.

you read the statement, and i meant what i posted
todd is best girl

he is from the future
from Ape City

What? There are around a dozen shitty Stephen King films but there are also a ton of good ones.

>The Shining
>Brian De Palma's Carrie
>John Carpenter's Christine
>David Cronenberg's The Dead Zone
>Misery
>The Shawshank Redemption
>The Green Mile
>Stand By Me
>The Mist
>1408
>The Running Man

Shit, I didn't mean to post that image.

IT television series suck. I never found Tim Curry's Pennywise scary or disturbing. So I'm actually looking forward to this movie.

Probably be shit though.

I didn't think it was good mang. That's why I left it off

well the first one was absolute dog shit when tim curry wasnt on screen so im willing to accept it. too bad tim curry cant come back to do the role of it

Reminds me of my life
>Despise stephen king and everybody who likes him
>Be very vocal about it, be proud of the fact that I've ever read even a line of his "writing"
>Get a birthday card from a friend
>odd (badly written) sentence written at the end of it.
>google it
>it's a passage from fucking Cujo
I never spoke to him again, I still get mad now just thinking about it. Fuck Stephen King.

This man is a true god among men. Sad to hear about his condition. Hope he gets better.

Watch it, senpai. It's a must watch if you like Stephen King or John Carpenter.

But Firestarter is? lol

Any bookfags here? Is The Stand worth reading?

Yeah. It is. Pet Semetary is just gory garbage

>True Detective director worked on the script
>tried to make it something new and more original, less of an adaptation of the book
>wanted hard-R spooks
>got the boot by producers for thinking creatively
>got replaced with a yes-man
>will now be PG-13
>will have lines/references to the original miniseries
>will be forgettable garbage no one remembers a week later like the Poltergeist remake

Bravo Schlomo!

People are dumb and gay and everything sucks

Think you need to rewatch Firestarter. Pet Semetary is leagues better.

>Is The Stand worth reading?

Fuck yes. Unless you're a /lit/ snob. I think it's his Magnum Opus. It's especially neat if you like any of the Dark Tower universe.

>will now be PG-13
It's not.

I always thought either Peter Dinklage, Michael Shannon, or (no joke) Nicolas Cage could pull off Pennywise.

That movie blows.

youtube.com/watch?v=A3ZbnfXEuyc

In what fucking universe is this scary?

Face it, the movie was dogshit 100% of the time. This one has the potential to be better simply because it cant get much worse

>hate an author when you've never even read any of his work
>not even "a single sentence"

If this is bait, it's pretty good

>Clown in the rain

Why is this so unsettling? Just imagine your brain slowly realizing that his makeup isn't running and it's not actually makeup at all.

I'm actually reading through it right now on the recommendation of a friend and it's... okay? Very meandering. I've read a few other King novels, and while he's often got a lot of good ideas he's also very self indulgent and sloppy, including stuff he doesn't need to or probably shouldn't have. So far The Stand is bearing that out.

If King wasn't utter shit then retards wouldn't be able to enjoy his work.

Fuck off, faggot. It's one of the top 10 best Stephen King adaptations.

>Sup Forums on the left

It's not scary but it's pretty unsettling m8

>thanks to Jack Nicholson.
>Not thanks to Kubrick

t. Armond White

It's just another case of Sup Forums doesn't like popular things

>Sup Forums hates Stephen King now because Roland is being played by a black man

Thanks, Sup Forums.

Not even a bit. Its like a cartoon for kids trying to be scary

>dumb people like something
>therefore it has no merit or depth
dumb people like Bach and Haydn but that doesn't mean they understand it

I dunno but that guy terrorized people just for kicks

huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/16/scary-clown-northhampton-england_n_3934290.html

Sup Forums has always hated King. Even more than /lit/

>tfw pennywise is only supposed to be scary to the kids
>tfw that is literally how he is portrayed
stop posting anytime

well Sup Forums has hated him before because he's an extremely popular author of mainstream novels.

This scene is mostly just hilarious. its a little creepy when they explode in blood but tim curry spinning the thing laughing is just too much comedic gold.

the laugh is 10/10

>Terrorizes English Town Just By Standing Around

Holy shit I thought that human statue stuff in Hot Fuzz was just a joke.

>tfw a photographer posted pic related on normiebook as some sort of "cute" birthday shoot for the poor boy.

The best adaptations of his work have nothing to do with horror.

IT will be a generic "dude scares lmao" popcorn flick.

Maybe so, but Christine wasn't a good book to start with. And I say this as a guy who likes other Stephen King Books.

isn't that what the horror genre is about?
no movie is going to scare you when you stop being underage, having shitty jumpscares is the only way to create tension
