Did this need a thread?

Maybe a little

I disagree, I listened to it yesterday for the first time in a while and it still holds up. Absolutely monumental, genius production and the highest amount of clever lines out of any Kanye album.

>we love Jesus but you done learned a lot from Satan

Very overrated. Some tracks here are so weak I just can't understand why people rate it that high.

Is there any production tho

Seriously, it's like my sixth listen already. It was fine when I listened briefly some time ago, but then after trying to actually comprehend it I found too many flaws for supposedly a 10/10 album.

Wrong.

It's an underrated classic now, thanks to you faggots.

Even Melonhead has come around to accepting it's greatness.

>Is there any production tho

Melonhead still thinks that it's not that great though, even despite its 'influence' over the culture.

>Is there any production
hmmmmmm

Nope. Perfect lyrics, mostly perfect production. Enjoyable to listen to all the way through and there's not even a single bad track. Also very influential. This is the definition of a 10/10.

I like how the record sounds intentionally brickwalled. It makes the whole album seem like a timeless art piece.

Yeezus is better.

The album feels very inconsistent with all of its strange 'mood swings' of sorts, and most of the songs feel like they're just stretched out to make it not-an-EP. It almost feels like Watch The Throne has better production than this, even though it's clearly not true.

No shit. I still enjoy the opulent maximalism of MBDTF. Yeezus is a much more personal record.

Fuck you. Just. Fuck you.

So Appalled, Blame Game and Runaway need to have more than a minute and half shaved off of all them
Hell of a Life is an abomination

Yeezus is ten times better

I'm getting real fucking tired of this meme.

>The album feels very inconsistent with all of its strange 'mood swings' of sorts

Is "variety" the word you are looking for? The songs have widely varying concepts and structures, but the production is very consistent. Do you understand what production actually is?

>most of the songs feel like they're just stretched out to make it not-an-EP

Now you are just being stupid, MBDTF is Kanye's longest albums, and even if the "stretches" (which serve a purpose) it would still be a full size album.

>It almost feels like Watch The Throne has better production than this, even though it's clearly not true.

At least you got something right.

Its a 7. So appaled is a bad track, would have been better with just ye rapping on it. All of the lights interlude is completely useless and ruins the flow of the first side. Jay z verse on monster is god awful and probably shouldve been cut/rewritten. The yeezy taught me skit pads the run time of a song thats already too long. NOT EVERY SONG ON THE BACK ENDS DESERVES TO BE 5+ MINUTES

>being this much of a pleb

Kanye West is overrated in general.

What is pleb about not liking FUCKIN RIDICALUS x45 and autotune whining over the same instrumental for 4 minutes after a song should be over?

It's got substance at least, something Kanye lacks a bit nowadays.

Runaway Devil In A New Dress and Blame Game are among his best tracks. I hate Monster.
So Appalled, All of the Light and Hell of a Life aren't bad, but they're not great, either.

It's got some nice lyrics but some pretty stupid ones as well.

This, LR and 808s are probably his best.

What purpose does the stretching serve? Make you feel bored to death? It accomplishes its goal well then.

The College Dropout had good variety while having kickass production.

The production is probably the best aspect of the album. But I totally agree with you that it's completely overrated. The features are really what blows it for me. The only 10/10 song is Devil in a New Dress, rest of the album is maybe a 6 at best

It's truly one of those albums that grows on you then ungrows then grows again.

I have to go to fucking sleep now guys, it's 2am here.

In conclusion:
MBDTF = overrated a lot
Yeezus = shitty Death Grips ripoff
The College Dropout = Kanye's best album

My personal ratings for the albums:
TCD: 9/10
LR: 8/10
Graduation: 7/10
808s: 7,5/10 (haven't digged yet tho)
MBDTF: 7/10
Yeezus: 6/10
TLOP: 7/10

Additional unrelated notes:

If Kanye will not scrap Turbo Grafx 16, then it will probably be his shittiest album ever, since songs about videogames were never great.

I wish that actual SWISH was a thing, All Day was a great song. I Feel Like That was also good because of its weirdness and artsiness, sort of.

>MBDTF = overrated a lot
>Yeezus = shitty Death Grips ripoff
>The College Dropout = Kanye's best album

Never have I seen such a Fantano drone opinion.

jesus christ

>since songs about videogames were never great.

>If Kanye will not scrap Turbo Grafx 16, then it will probably be his shittiest album ever, since songs about videogames were never great.
I really want to hear a Kanye song titled Super Mario Galaxy though

that's the best part of the entire album, perhaps even of Kanye's entire discography

really makes you think

this is literally the most posturing thing I've ever seen in my life

if for whatever reason you see this, take a lengthy and extended break from Sup Forums. It really, really seems like you can't think for yourself

this

How do you rank kanyes discog?

That's because 808's is the best when will you plebs learn.

Yeezus > MBDTF > CD > 808s > LR > Graduation

808s>Graduation>Life of Pablo>Late Registrtion>MBDTF>College Dropout>Yeezus

Hmm not bad what about tlop

mine goes like this
808s>MBDTF>CD>Yeezus=Graduation>TLOP>LR

I forgot to rate TLOP, that album is so unmemorable but it's better than Graduation.

This is the only time I've ever seen that order. Congratulations, you're special.

>is there any production?
Really made me think

wtf why LR last? that's my favorite

Because some of the lyrics are ridiculous

>And I know that the government administer AIDS

I agree that line is dumb as fuck but that's the only line I really dislike on the whole album. I do really recommend watching Late Orchestration though even if you don't like the album itself, it's his best live performance by far. Maybe you'll find some appreciation for the strings.

The wired strings that is.

>is there any production tho

Uh, yeah.

Too many people fell for le p4k 10/10 meme.
With that said, it's still a good album.

No

Go to bed Fantano

It's the most overrated album of all time

lol how can you have this opinion? oh yeah its ur opinion... thas cool.... i guess....

it contains the best Rick Ross will ever come up with, your argument is invalid

also gorgeous had some his best verses, even if they might have been ghostwritten

MBDTF is overrated but it's still a 10/10. It's just not the 11/10 Kanye stans want you to believe it is.

MBDTF > Yeezus = TCD > Late Orchestration > 808s > TLOP = Grad > Late Registration >> Watch the Throne

accurate

8 the b8

Agree with 200% backing.

It is undoubtedly hands down the best thing Rick Ross has ever written in his entire career ever in the history of ever.

umderated

t. Melonhead

>reads pitchfork

Just didnt really do anything for me my man

What about my statement is wrong? Do you laugh at the yeezy taught me skit? Do you love jay zs additions to this album? Am i being FUKIN RIDICALUS??

Here are the songs that deserve their run time on the back side of this album:
Hell of a Life
Devil In a New Dress
Lost in the World (its only 4 and a half minutes)

LOOKING AT MY BITCH BET SHE GIVE YOUR ASS A BONE

Wow, I'm genuinely surprised that this thread is still up and running. Nice job, guys.

I don't browse Sup Forums very often, I am a Sup Forumsentooman mostly.

But ANOOON
Its the flaws that MAKE it a 10/10 album

Yes, but the tracks with him still quite sucked

Yeah, I agree with Fantano. So what? I disagree with him as well, especially with his Thundercat ratings and the recent HNDRXX review.

>Spaceship
>Gone
>Homecoming
>Gorgeous
>Hold My Liquor
>Ultralight Beam
Best from each album imo

Tracks drag a bit

it's a 5 to 6/10, regretted buying it after believing the hype.

>shitty Death Grips ripoff

explain... thought this meme was dead

Yeezus > TCD/MBDTF > 808s > Graduation > Late Reg > TLOP

best tracks
>New Workout Plan
>Touch the Sky
>Flashing Lights
>Street Lights
>Devil In A New Dress
>I'm In It
>No More Parties in LA

>All of the lights interlude is completely useless

Umm user, maybe we aren't listening to the same song.

...

Truly a monumental album, still the 10's AOTD so far.
So good in fact that seeing these threads makes me want to voice this opinion.

The only flaw on this album is blame game. But when you have highs like runaway and gorgeous, that more than makes up for it.

Why is it so important for people to express that kanye(especially dark fantasy) is overrated?
But anyways im just happy this album exists
If i had to call the best album of the 10s without longer thought id always pick this
Imo its the most important hip hop realease since the 90s even
Shaped the world of the genre completely

I thought I was listening to DG track when that opener came through my shuffle. But then he started to rap.

>Why is it so important for people to express that kanye(especially dark fantasy) is overrated?

Because people give it 10/10s for no real reason.

Also, To Pimp a Butterfly is more important than this.

>TPAB is more is more important than this
Cmon now

>TPAB is more important
>wah racism the album

>Enjoyable to listen to all the way through and there's not even a single bad track
all of the lights interlude

>Jay z verse on monster is god awful and probably shouldve been cut/rewritten
is this because of the fact that he mentioned a list of monsters? because if it is you realize he made a parallel to these monsters and himself and people he works with regularly

>The College Dropout had good variety while having kickass production.
CD stretched out songs as well, and even ends with a fucking 13 minute spoken word interview track.

808s=MBDTF=TCD>LR>TLOP>yeezus>Graduation

Yeah, but it wasn't as dull as MBDTF, and it had lots of very kickass songs.

Good post.

>mfw no one has gotten the correct order

Yeezus > Late Registration > 808s > MBDTF > TCD > TLOP > WTT > Graduation > Cruel Summer

>Yeezus is best
How much longer will this meme continue

why do people throw in cruel summer with the rest of em

TCD > LR > Graduation > MBDTF > 808's > Yeezus > TLOP

I don't know but Sup Forums thinks bad lyrics over a few """"""experimental beats"""""""" is considered amazing

This but put 808s dead last.

Yeezus > 808s > TLOP > Dropout > MBDTF > Late registration > Watch the throne > Graduation > Cruel summer

MBDTF > LR > Yeezus > TCD > 808s > Graduation > TLOP

And I fucking love College Dropout

listening to 808 for the first time time, the first 2 tracks were fucking awesome but everything else so far has sucked

Agreed, Runway is great though.

>being plen

>not the first 6 tracks
>being a plev

>Perfect lyrics

>Rick Ross
There's your problem
