Holy shit what a tasteless pleb.
Clapton core muffin rock for old fat truckers. See yourselves out.
Only granddadcore allowed ITT from now on.
youtube.com
fat truckers wouldn't listen to that. and neither would you since you're a tasteless faggot
Ok, let's see if I can appease or offend you both with a compromise. I have dadrock that's melodic, is old fat trucker friendly, and earnest enough.
How about the Allman Bros. band's early output? In particular Live at The Fillmore East, Eat a Peach, and Brothers and Sisters.
what in the honk is muffin rock?

Florida guitar assaults incoming.
Nirvana
As much as like Brothers and Sisters hard to include it with AFE and EAP cuz Duane not on it...even tho it was their most commercially successful album
Their first album is, in fact, quite good. But as a Pleb, you would not be able to know this.
This still kicks /mu's ass all over the place.
I really like it. Dickey pulls out all the stops and Chuck Leavell proves to be a great new member. I'm not the biggest fan of their, or anybody's ultralong jams, so I've always considered it top tier
This tbqh
Monster release.
Saw them back in the early 80s and it was one of the greatest gigs i've ever seen.
Rolling Stones
Sonic Youth
...
The Who are king of Dadrock
Tattoo You was their last great album IMO

Brothers In Arms [Warner Bros., 1985]
"Money For Nothing" is a catchy sumbitch, there's no getting around it, and side one moves with a simple generosity not often associated with this studio guitarist's ego trip. We know that Mark Knopfler's working class antihero is a thicky because he talks like Randy Newman and uses the same word for homosexuals that old bluesmen use, a word that he's somehow managed to sneak onto the radio with no static from the PMRC. But it's too late for the ol' bluesboy to suck us in with his ruminations on the perfidy of woman and the futility of political struggle, and "Money For Nothing" is also a benchmark of pop hypocrisy. Why "little faggot with the earring"? Why not "little nigger with the spitcurl" instead? Mark? And while we're at it, how the hell did you end up on MTV? By spelling its name right? C+
Knopfler is a guitar God, GTFO
That if you lower your standards quite a bit. I'd stop at Some Girls.
Basically agree...its just Duane tho....the studio tracks on EAP - Stand Back, Blue Sky, little Martha are hard to beat - plus the short tunes of Trouble No More and One Way Out are all killer...and even AintWastin Time No More...just hard to beat IMHO ...Mountain Jam is sublime.
Chuck is awesome tho. Funny to see him with the Stones now.
Pedo band
Pete didn't actually do anything.
The who more like the literally who
Utterly clueless pleb
not really, they never were pedos, unlike zeppelin and bowie
Most dad rock is actually good, tbqh
Sonic youth is dad rock!? I'm getting old I guess
>shagging hot 13-14 year olds
>pedo
Says the one who actually likes the who, middle of the road garbage for people who don't like their "rawk" poppy or hard enough. And that's the worst kind tbqh, literally the Foo Fighters of the 60s/70s
The Police
Before Sting went solo and decided he was going to try to put everyone to sleep with dull and slow music while saving the rainforest, he had a fantastic drummer who could tell him to fuck off.

Man, you surely convinced me with that argument
jethro tull is god tier dad rock
this

Crack isn't good for you.

The Pink Floyd song Empty Spaces is basically my guilty pleasure. Also all of Steely Dan.
>People in this thread kidding themselves that that dad rock for them is from the 70's when they were conceived in the backseat of a Toyota to the beats of SotD, King of Leon and Alien Ant Farm
So basically... a white kid was born with a 770 credit score
>projecting
my dad graduated high school 1978
define "dad" rock
its 2017, Stone Temple Pilots could be considered dadrock, and Steely Dan could be considered grandparock
My parents were born in the early sixties so were teenagers in the early to mid 70s. The bands posted here are definitely dadrock.
Steely Dan gargles my balls
its ok to be wrong
and Fleetwood Mac, no shame
dadrock is 90s rock
70s rock is grampa rock
what is 80s rock or 60s
great grandpa rock
Kek, I love Christgau
Actually, that was my Toyota.
Also during a time when girls would lie about their age to try and bang rockstars.

If you were from Michigan you grew up on Seger
neither The Who
Dadrock is just anything they play on Classic Rock radio stations all day. And my classic rock station plays STP and Nirvana and Foo Fighters so they are classic rock now.
>Saw them back in the early 80s and it was one of the greatest gigs i've ever seen.
They were pretty much a force of nature back then...Larger Than Life they were at the point...Rock music hasnt seen anything like it since-
not a soundboard but this high quality boot from '81 gives the plebs an idea...
Look at all the people hear tonight!

They were THE band back then. They had a hell of a run during their classic era.
I unironically watched that whole video. Pretty stunning outro.
THIS
No other "dad rock" band gets me as excited as thees guys

Too bad that is not a soundboard. Its a killer performance. The historical value is immense.

No Triumph?
Ever hear of Coney Hatch?
Now thats a fucking rock band. kids today- sheesh.
The kind of stuff that really sticks in your mind and makes you really want to see the band the next time they tour through.
I assumed Triumph was a given, similar to Rush. Rik Emmett is a guitar virtuoso and a great singer. I've heard of Monkey Bars by Coney Hatch. It sounds like Cheap Trick to me which is cool
they don't sound like dadrock at all
>No Triumph?

Coming right up.
