I am part of a guerrilla marketing team surrounding Rogue One. It is my job to essentially "shill" and promote this film among others.

I recently have been gifted with the opportunity to view the most recent cut of Rogue One and am looking to share what I saw and what I know.

Go ahead and ask me anything.

What does "shill" mean?

Is that gordon ramsay?

Is that grand admiral thrawn

Is the female lead a mary sue, and if so, is she less of one or more of one than Rey?

Is the empire ever portrayed as competent/not cartoonishly evil?

>I am part of a guerrilla marketing team

No you're not.

I'm Rogue One, I like your white horns, white scum.

How many kills do you have?

wtf I hate rogue one now

Just give a synopsis of the entire movie.

What went wrong?

lol yeah right, anyways...
im glad i still havent seen TFA and never will...
you'll never get my cash

what did he meme by this?

did you see the previous cut? if so, how is it different?

Exactly how many Bothans die in this film?

Similar, but very obviously meant to stand on his own. I actually am not a HUGE star wars geek so I never read the Thrawn books, but from what I understand they are different but have some similarities

I'm gonna have to say no. She is shown to be very flawed from the start of the film and throughout. She also has nowhere near as much "look how cool and great she is" moments as Rey does. She holds her own and can fight, but is also pretty emotionally unstable

That would technically go against the contract I signed. The reason I am able to leak delicate information like this is because a loophole that allows me to give info as long as its not all at once, and I give no definitive proof that I saw the movie.

I have not. I actually do not know if the cut I saw included the reshot scenes or not. I can safely say though that from what I understand the cuts are pretty minor compared to popular belief. The cut I saw was VERY dark so I can't imagine too much was changed. That is, if the cut I saw WAS the new reshoots.

A whopping 0

Fuck off. If you really were, you'd post a better quality picture than that shit

What does Vader do in this movie. What is his most pivotal scene. Are the rumors true where he hunts and murders the main characters true?

Can you answer the second part of my question?

Is the empire ever portrayed as competent/not cartoonishly evil? In general how would you describe the way the empire and rebellion are presented?

is snokes sneeve snoke or snoke sneeve

Yeah and my dad works for Nintendo.

So how prominent are aliens in the movie?

Do they make up new planets for canon or use old ones?

Answer this

Do not expect a lot of Vader in this movie. He is in it for a collective ~20 minutes. That being said, if you are a Vader fan you will absolutely love this movie. Throughout the entire film he is talked about as some sort of unstoppable force of nature. There one of his two action scenes is shot Saving Private Ryan style with bodies being hurled past the camera as flashes of a red blade can be scene cutting people down and causing absolute chaos. There is nothing about him hunting down any main characters, but they do have a face off where he kills more than one of the main characters.

It completely surprised me how dark they made the empire in this movie. They feel less like a parody of WWII Nazis and felt more like how ACTUAL Nazis were. Despite this, the movie actually makes it pretty easy to sympathize with them. They make some genuinelly good points. Especially Director Krennic who really just wants piece in the galaxy, but will go to terribly evil extremes to achieve it. At times, the rebels are actually portrayed just as evil as the Empire is that I feel like was a great change of pace. There is a pretty important and powerful scene where a group of rebels burn down a building occupied by bot civilians and imperials, most of which seemed to be off duty. After they the building is burned down and innocent lives are taken just to kill a few storm troopers, a toy soldier is found outside the building, implying that there were innocent children inside along with the others.

I'd say no more or less than any other movie. Its not something I was really paying attention to, but I didn't notice a lack or influx of them. So much of the movie is seen through the Empires perspective though, most of those scenes are completely void of any aliens at all. There are a few returning planets. Yavin is a pretty big one. Quite a few new ones too, despite a couple going nameless. I'm sure they will appear int he visual dictionary

Does Ira Belle show her feet?

Is it true that the main chick is from Onderon?

Can't really remember the name of the planet she was from. I remember it was one I had never heard of before though. That might have been it

Is it better or worse than Godzilla (2014)?

I'd say better. Definitely less boring.

One of the characters is from Onderon.

Which one is from Onderon?

Does op pic have a name?

anything PT related in the movies? Planets, names, aliens, names, clone wars comments?

Besides Saw of course.

I believe it was Saw Gerrera actually. Pic related.

Director Krennic

Full name? It's obviously not Director

Alright user. So far so good.

You're obviously not a shitposter who hates star wars or someone who knows the material.

How much is this job paying?

please, any Prequel trilogy content...anything...names, planets. please respond. besides whitaker.

Why do you lie for attention on an anonymous Laotian crotchet BBS?

>Pic related
where

why do you get off lying on the internet?

youtube.com/watch?v=Kj08Jwp-2q0

forgot image

Absolutely. Despite this movie definitely leaning toward the OT in tone, it really does a great job blurring the line between the two trilogies. Kashyyyk has a name drop and there are plenty of prequel era ships and species appearing in the background. There is also a planet that looks like it could easily be Naboo but its never given a name.

Errol or something like that. It had an E and an R in it. As far as I remember its only really mentioned once. Hes referred to as Director through the entire movie.

see above

Yeah man, they hired a world known chef to play a role in the new star wars. :)

coolbeans about the prequels, hope you are legit.

>Errol or something like that. It had an E and an R in it.
It's Orson Krennic fool. Errol Isn't even close to Orson

Nice thread you were able to keep going, boi

>I give no definitive proof that I saw the movie.

All right people, everyone move along, nothing to see here

> That being said, if you are a Vader fan you will absolutely love this movie.
Your posts reek of subtle marketing, it's against Sup Forums rules. You can pay for adspace you know?

Remember to report shill posts.

It may have been another character with the name I was thinking of then. Like I said, he is refereed to as Director every time he is on screen

HOW TO GET HAIRCUT LIKE KRENNIC? LOOKS BAD ASS.

grow old

Did the cut you saw have a text crawl at the beginning like all the other star wars movies? Kathleen Kennedy was recently questioning if it would have one or not

>white guy
>with white hair
>wearing all white
is he a villain or a good guy?

>I am part of a guerrilla marketing team
>Your posts reek of subtle marketing
Wow you're a real sherlock holmes user

Answer this faget

It's a double bluff, he claims he's going 'rogue' on this marketing shit and wants to leak stuff but then instead just shills the movie

>Your posts reek of subtle marketing
It's not subtle if he says as much in his OP.

Also who cares if he' a shill when he's posting spoiler?

They don't show shills cuts of the movie you retard, get your fan fiction off this board.

Does it have a happy ending or is it more of a bittersweet one? I don't blame you if you can't go into specifics but i'm hoping for a "everyone dies in a last stand to protect the Death Star plans" kind of thing.

It did not, but I definitely feel like there could have been one. There isn't a whole lot of context at the beginning of the movie.

Hes a villain but fueled by passion, not by hate.

Well played, next time you will slip up

Would you say it is the darkest Star Wars film? How would you rank it compared to the others in terms of overall quality.

Why is the movie dark?

>The reason I am able to leak delicate information like this is because a loophole that allows me to give info as long as its not all at once, and I give no definitive proof that I saw the movie.

you literally just told us that you saw the movie, you stupid fuck.

I'm going to law school soon and posts like this fill me with glee, because in a few short years I'm going to fuck over people like you with zero effort and I'm going to get paid to do it.

I don't even disagree with what you're doing. I just love destroying randos that have no sense of discretion.

>inb4 soulless jew
eye tallions 4ver

that's not definitive proof. have fun being some lawyer's secretary.

exactly, the only people who see early cuts of star wars films are the ones producing it and disney execs. showing it to anyone else would guarantee leaks of the plot and beats of the film

>you literally just told us that you saw the movie, you stupid fuck.
You don't know what "definitive" means you stupid fuck.

To call it a bittersweet ending is a stretch. It feels more like the Episode III ending where despite the terrible conditions and unfortunate ending, it had to be that way because we all know how the next movie starts. Only 1 major character_ survives until the very ending, and even then is in a terrible position for what could be to come.

Absolutely yes. Imagine the final act of Episode III but throughout the entire movie.
5 > 4 > 6 > RO > 7 > 3 > 1 > 2

Why as in why did they make it dark, or why as in how is the movie dark?

>I'm going to law school soon
Why? This post proves you're an absolute moron who either doesn't have basic reading comprehension skills or you just cannot pay attention to detail while also overreacting and calling people out for shit they're not guilty of.

You carry this behavior at all into the law world and you will crash and burn big time. Maybe stick to retail m8.

Not necessarily true, companies test screen the shit out of movies this big, particularly companies like Disney. Considering this is, what, five months from release? They're definitely test screening, so who knows.

you're not smart enough to be a lawyer so the best thing you can hope for is sucking some gay kikes cock

Why as in how is the movie dark?

Damn, nice ranking. You're giving me hope.

I know you said Vader was in it for around 20 minutes so would you say he was in it more than the original Star Wars? A lot of people don't realize he only had 12 minutes of screen time in that.

>gorilla marketing

Aside from Darth Vader, any other cameos or references to characters from both the PT and the OT?

>It's an OP pretends to be someone important and anons, knowingly or not, take the bait series

How much did you get paid to "focus test" us?

A few reasons.
-Overall depressing, violent, and hopeless vibe throughout the whole movie.
-Way way way more deaths. Especially of major characters
-Straight up decapitations

Like I said in an above post, there is a scene where rebels kill completely innocent people and children. The tone of the movie is not something Star Wars has ever really experienced.

Obviously I didn't literally time how much Vader there was. It was more of a quick estimate. I actually had no idea he was in Episode 4 so little because hes effeminately in this hell of a lot less. With that in mind I'd say he gets more around 8 minutes of screen time. Hes not supposed to be a major character, more just a glooming threat.

My biggest complaint about the movie is a very very forced Boba Fett cameo where he stands outside of his ship and silently makes a deal with one of the main imperials. You can't hear what they are talking about but he looks up at one of the main rebels who is watching from afar, before getting in his ship and taking off. I honest to god do not understand the significance of this scene even a little bit. There might have been a follow up scene that was cut, or maybe will be re-added. Or maybe its to set up some sort of EU stuff. But hes there all right.

Not as much as you would expect, but more than I should.

i can see you dont follow star wars production. TFA wasn't screentested and was only shown broadly among those involved less than a month before premiere.

they haven't started screentesting R1 yet, though they may. they still have massive reshoots to get through. OP is full of bullshit

What is the inevitable plot twist?

There isn't much of one, but the biggest twist is that all the Death Troopers (the black stormtroopers like pic related) are all actually droids being massively manufactured

>I?m going to law school

you clearly need to keep going.

>6
>that high

excellent final fight, a good does not make

to be totally honest, I would actually rate 6 higher. I was more or less just going by what I thought the general consensus would be.

So its just dark troopers, except without Kyle Katarn/Gary Stu

I think so. I never played Dark Forces and know nothing about it beyond the basic plot. I think its a nod only real fans of the old stuff would really appreciate

how did you end up in this gig

tells about your job

what do you think of Hollywood

i am totally not testing you

>droid troopers
w-what are the chances for Kyle Katarn

He's Gary mate. It was hard to accept for me as well. An homage would be appreciated though

I figured you guys would do as much.

I got the job with a degree in Marketing that I barely needed and previous experience working around/with the film industry. Basically I do exactly what you guys call other anons out on by "shilling" (I really hate that word) current films or products. I don't work close enough with Hollywood to really have any secrets or know anything interesting about it. The most I ever get is the ability to view a test screening like this. It makes deceiving people on the internet completely worth it.

Completely zero. The character is long non-canon. I would reasure you that one of the new characters is basically a carbon copy of him like Jyn is supposedly a carbon copy of that one other girl, but I don't know enough about Kyle to make any comparisons

take the picture to a salon, not some shitty $15 great clips or wherever you usually go

Who is autistic enough to register an account just for this obviously fake shtick?

Is there a cameo for the younger Solo?

>register an account
Are you fucking retarded

>a toy soldier is found outside the building, implying that there were innocent children inside along with the others.
hmmmmm...

how do i apply for a gorilla marketing team?

most good guy legends characters are garys

kyle has the whole i give no fucks vibe going none of the movie characters really fulfill.

Wait you are basically a paid spammer? Isn't that like the lowest of the low regarding marketing? why would they show you the clips? or you have other roles you are not telling?

No, that's pretty clearly what he's doing and he doesn't seem to be trying to pretend otherwise.

Is that one rumored scene of Vader stalking Rebels in the forest in it?

How about how he's supposed to pick up still-alive rebels with the Force and use them as shields?

Basically just please describe the Vader action scenes as best as you can

was hoping they would be clones tb.h

...

I really don't want this to be about my job. I have other things I do but this is just one of the many. Also the only assignment I have for Rogue One specifically. Its not really worth mentioning the other things I do because they are totally irrelevant.

Thankfully no

There is a similar scene. I never read that specific rumor but they seem to get some details right. I go in a bit more deapth here >71687327

I just want him to beat an entire room of rebels to death with the force choked body of another rebel.
