BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR WATCH IT NOW
no subtitles yet
Oh nice
Well im gonna check it out now.
expecting to be great tho as the other films from this director
What's the release name group?
i got it off passthepopcorn, the filename is just The.Wailing.2016.720p.mkv (3.89 GiB) no release group listed
does the version has hardcoded chinese subs?
Looks like it.
How's the quality?
Already seen it.
the only hardcoded subs are from japanese to korean i think
video quality you can judge for yourself (pic related), the english subs are homemade by someone so they're not perfect but they got the point across in every scene, i was never confused by a poor translation
Won't the english subs placed over the chinese subs look bad?
how new are you
the chinese subs are not hardcoded
>japshit
no thanks
see pic
actually the japs are looked down upon in the movie since its korean
Im watching the version with the hardcoded subs and added eng subs and its totally watchable desu
of course you can always dl the version which is not hardcoded
FUCK YES THEY GOT IT WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW
TV MAY BE GOING DOWN BUT THANKS FOR THIS
>actually the japs are looked down upon in the movie since its korean
sold.
its korean and they make pretty good films desu
so glad you brought this up, i fucking missed the showings when they were in chicago
its my #4 for the year so far, behind The Wait, The Commune and The Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
pretty great flick
>gook torture porn masquerading as cinema
>again
No thanks.
what films are you talking about? im curious
Looks fun,will watch it tonight
2/10
Would wait to accidental IFC channel surf into
The Man From Nowhere
That's not even torture porn, just a pretty good action movie.
Sitting thru it was an unbearable chore and the cunny made me fap
You have several issues then.
not the filmmakers problem you are mentally ill
Best Korean film is Memories of murder, fight me
I agree.
Oldboy
nah overrated as hell also baby's first foreign flick
city of god, pan's labyrinth, amelie the list goes on right?
correct
I Saw The Devil
china does it again
Just finished it and it was great.
moral message: japs are the literal devil
how come this gets subtitled a 4 days after release when movies like chasing doesn't get any attention at all despite being a great movie?
so is this a pure horror movie with actual curses rather than a thriller disguised as horror?
because some random person decided to translate korean to english?
feel free to get someone to do so for chasing
MoM is probably the best runner up is probably The Chaser
meh, it's become a bit of a cliche the japs are always bad people, just like americans
Is this Chinese? I thought they had taboo against ghost/spirits?
What do you mean? In korean movies or in general? Iv seen plenty of korean movies and dont remember the japs being the so called bad guys
korean, they're based as fuck with their movies
whenever a jap is in a korean movie you know that they are going t be bad one way or the other
Was the movie allowed to be viewed in China?
it's from korea
...
it's not racist if it's not perpetrated by whites
Did they allow it in Chinese theaters? Apparently Ghost Busters 3 isn't allowed, so I'm curious where they draw the line.
>whites
But that's not Keit-ai.
china only allow american, european and Chinese movies in their theaters
Interesting, you learn something new every day.
Thanks for bringing this on my rardar, user.
Here, have a treat yourself:
>park chan-wook
didn't know he still made movies
What is
> Kundo
> Ode to my Father (International Market)
> A Violent Prosecutor
...
oh wait, all those are are:
> Korean Django Unchained
> Korean Forest Gump
> Korean Shawshank Redemption
> Koreans in charge of not ripping off American movie concepts
Neat.
Have any other good Asian movies come out recently? I haven't paid attention in a while, but I've seen most of the Korean ones.
don't forget about admiral: roaring currents
korean 300 with boats
Best Korino flick coming through.
sk makes better movies than usa right now
This one's actually really good.
Oldboy is definitely the best, it's also the most popular so a bunch of contrarians are undervalueing it.
pleb choice will be Oldboy since it's gotten the most famous outside of the country
Memories of Murder is the true best probably
>Oldboy is definitely the best, it's also the most popular so a bunch of contrarians are undervalueing it.
You'll eventually grow out of the phase where you think Oldboy, Donnie Darko and Fight Club are the best things ever made.
Its not a contrarian opinion, everyone outside of IMDB rates MoM the better movie. and it clearly is.
Which is why oldboy is frequently the first modern Korean films paraded around as a must watch.
It's also the one that won Grand Prize of the Jury at Cannes.
I mean, imdb.com
vs
imdb.com
MoM is fucking good, that's true, but Oldboy is just astounding, which is why it has hte better critical reception.
Oldboy has only a better score on Imdb which is not saying much. MoM is better rated in metascore and rotten tomatoes and evidently a better film
>Grand Prize of the Jury at Cannes.
Garbage like 'Inside Llewyn Davis' can win this, critical reception means nothing when its all hypetrain
try thinking for yourself for once
Agree here
Can you explain why you enjoy MoM so much? I'm not movie reviewer but I personally found a lot of it annoying
I mean the entire police force was grossly incompetent and corrupt no wonder they never caught the murderer
I enjoyed the final scene and the chase but that's what it
oldboy > memories of a murder
also the rest of the movies you name is just the first things you find when you google 'foreign movie'. stay down in the dirt pleb
>read the synopsis
>it's a "we don't know who the bad guy is" episode
Not him, but the representation of the police is not far from what korea had in that time, corrupt and incompetent being key words.
Also I enjoy the camera work, the general atmosphere, and the pacing. And it helps that it's built on a real case in which the murderer never was caught, which makes the final scene that much better.
As for Oldboy, I really like it too, but it didn't leave that much of an impact on me as MoM.
Its based on a true story. They legit didn't have the resources to catch the killer, the guy was never found.
Makes the part where he detective looks into the camera at the end even more powerful.
if you would bother reading the post retard you would realize I was making fun of his taste hence the list goes on meme
lurk more faggot
also prefering Oldboy and calling others pleb oh am I laffin
OH GOODIE
another Korean murder film
That doesn't become clear from your post at all, try to convey your thoughts a bit better
>you in charge of reading comprehension
I'm the guy that said it was the best, you have to look at the honesty of the film and the portrayal of a small shitty police force over their heads with a murder case they just can't solve. The film cemented itself because the actual murder was never solved, and in the final shot he was looking at the viewer, because one of us is the real killer
So anyway, is The Wailing any good? As good as The Chaser and Yellow Sea?
I can understand this post. Great job, you're doing better.
Yes it does but apparently things have to be spelled out to you.
For future reference: I love foreign directors! Tarkovsky, Bergman, Malle,Ozu the list goes on!
My biggest fear is that a fire will break out while I'm in the Nova. I'll be burnt to a crisp while fighting through those narrow corridors.
I'm not him, lad.
>if it's popular then it's for plebs
>having this mindset and calling others plebs
what a fucking joke, kill you're self already you fucking 18 year olds
>I said something retarded
>better call it a meme so people won't make fun of me
literally the saddest thing i've ever seen
I guess it's your brother posting from the same IP address
I was trying to explain it to you captain autismo but you still don't seem to apprehend what reading is
>saddest thing I've seen
no mirror in your apartment?
you first you will not acquire an actual taste anyway :)
t. mad pleb
Really got me with that one...
I liked 3-Iron, are there any other similar movies?
>you first you will not acquire an actual taste anyway :)
sick burn :p it's funny how you're trying to act elitist by calling people out on "babby's first foregin flick" when you act like you just watched your first Takeshi Kitano movie and now you're the savviest movie buff on reddit lmao fucking poseur
I have three mirrors in my house (not appartment) and I'm handsome and succesful.
My reading comprehension is perfectly fine, I shouldn't be responding to stupid bait posts like this one though. I argued you into a corner and you resort to ad hominems.
Nice projecting mate.
But nah not really. Noone here is acting elitist I'm simply stating why a certain film is better than the other and you got butthurt.
also nice mention of Reddit you forgot to type cuck btw
>Noone here is acting elitist
>I'm simply stating why a certain film is better
The fact that you don't see the irony in this tells me enough. Begone troll.
>My reading comprehension is perfectly fine
well that's where you are wrong since this conversation is still going on. If you bothered to read the previous posts this would not be happening.
Is stating the obvious what gets you butthurt? Probably shouldnt be using this site then
of course he does
