They're on those charts and lists because they're widely considered the best.
It's not like OP is the first person to ever ask what the best foreign language films are.

...

that's bad but still better than pans labyrinth

To Live

...

why do you consider pans labyrinth to be worse than avengers?

I, too, am curious.

Cyrano de Bergerac with Depardieu
A masterpiece.

>foreign
Yea, cuz M'urica is center of world! xD

How should I have phrased it?

this

non english

Non-hollywood pl0x

Tokyo Story

that sounds retarded

If the shoe fits.

buy them

don't listen to these sperg. Foreign is fine since it's a relative term. It's not the same for all of us whether non-english or non-hollywood are more specific

Adam's Apples
The Hunt
The Celebration

Seven Samurai

>No one mentions Elite Squad 1 and 2
Holly plebeians.

let me know when you actually win a war without us fampie

>Depardieu

>without us
How many wars have you fought in again?

>america

you just start them then watch from afar. fucking isis has more balls than murrica

But that's not a foreign film.

...

The villain is more two dimensional in Pans Labyrinth than in any MCU film.

But they use this as a contrast of the pure evil of a Spanish dictator with the pure good of a child. And it gets old quick.

Meanwhile, the kid eats a grape just to move the plot along instead of just sticking it in her pocket.

Then the girl gives the dictator superficial wounds just so the movie doesn't end too soon.

Pans Labyrinth is a beautiful looking film that has love and passion of the filmmakers pouring out of every scene. It's just a shite script.

Lawl

Fucking oversensitive twat.

Sorry the girl dies.
Sorry that the mom dies.
Sorry that the fairies die.
Sorry that the rabbit farmers die.

Kill yourself tho.

They're on Sup Forums lists because they're good.
And A Prophet won the grand prix at Cannes i believe, hardly an unknown movie

The Sup Forums lists are troll lists tho

Yah, yah, spritzen mein anus 2

It's an obscure german nature film.

A comédia de Deus

>Americans think "foreign language" is a genre

Fuck you're stupid

>subtitled movies is a category

It's as if foreign movies were made by space aliens which are seen only by the bravest and most adventurous humans.

it was pretentious shit just like whole Tarkovsky

he ruined a great SciFi novel just like he did with Solaris because he had to put his orthodox christfag pseudo-philosophy and moralfaggotry everywhere

If by "foreign language film" you mean "any film that is in a different language other than english" then my vote would be for 'irreversible'

Son of Saul
das boot
Cavalry

Kontroll is better

This is so shit.

Whats that user? I don't understand foreignish

>that bit where she gets her dress muddy that her mother worked so hard to make
>when she eats the food even though she is told specifically not to eat the food and gets that little fairy killed

she deserved everything she got

Hara Kiri: Death of a Samurai
Some of the best visual story-telling I have seen in years. You don't need to read the subtitles to understand what is going on. It has an excellent twist in the end that I did not see coming.

but he's russian now

>b-but it's a metaphor
>It's a fairytale

Muh heaven and hell allegory

NEIN.

They mostly join the winning side halfway through in the actual wars
