Jim Morrison

Thoughts on Jim's Life/Legacy?

He made very good music, then not-so-good music, then got fat and died. Now he's a rock legend.

I think that Jim, like nearly all of Scaruffi's 9/10s, never really grew up. I think he also had an intensely idiosyncratic neurosis and ego and almost certainly had some very strange experiences with drugs, dreams, and psychosis. Perhaps impossible to fathom what it would have been like to have been Jim Morrison or any of Scaruffi's 9/10s. I'm reminded of George MacDonald's novel Lilith, where there are these "Little Ones, children who never grow up, remaining pure children or becoming selfish and getting bigger and dumber, turning into "bags" or bad giants." The idiosyncratic neuroses manifesting itself in incredibly idiosyncratic and dark art in nearly all of Scaruffi's 8-9/10s remind me of this.

jeff mangum did it better

he was the lizard king

he could do anything

he looks like that nigga Nick Drake

I liked the poetry, the music was a ruse for him to get his dick out in front of everyone

He's a ridiculously good looking man. I recall cutting down to what must have been under 10% body fat in college and dressing/acting/styling my hair like him for a solid year. I got more ass than a toilet seat, but I could never do it as much justice as ol' Jim.

Proof that nu-males can make it in life if make the right choices in the right time.
