People who sincerely thought Civil War was good - what happened in this movie?
I'm trying to think of an event that occurred that was important within the narrative but I can't do it.
>Some Nigerian people died Some Nigerian people died inside a building but it happened off screen and we never actually saw any loss of life
>A woman got angry at Tony so he changed his mind about the Avengers Again, a woman we've never met before talked to Tony for 5 minutes and suddenly his entire outlook shifts?
>The Wakandan king died Somebody we met two minutes before he died. No impact
>The Avengers broke up That's the premise of the movie, and even that didn't really happen. At the end, Cap breaks his people out of jail and Tony smirks... so they really don't seem to be that mad
>They had an epic airport fight, dude! This wasn't even a fight. Doesn't the title "Civil War" imply actual fighting? The whole "showdown" was just every hero nonthreateningly attempting to stall each other at a vacant airport while spouting quips
The only consequence of this entire film was that Don Cheadle had to go to physical therapy... and Bucky lost his arm (of which they could just make another).
So what the fuck is Marvel's problem? Are they too scared to actually pull the trigger on anything? The only characters they kill are stupid side characters we just met.
Colton Phillips
>Some Nigerian people died inside a building but it happened off screen thanks PG13
Carson Brooks
Yeah but think about that moment in the Civil War comic (if you've read it).
Some superheroes cause an explosion at a school yard while kids are there and it is pretty damn serious without any blood or gore.
This was just a mild explosion on the side of a building.
Lucas Flores
Yeah but it was established the children were there. Here there's no sign of activity in the building, the problem is there is a disconnection between the event in substance and in appearance.
Saying that a guy you never met or heard of has much less impact than seeing said guy get frozen, even if you hadn't met it before hand.
Liam Johnson
bland as fuck, like most disney films lately.
Austin Jones
Exactly.
Lucas Sanchez
agreed
and yet they pretty much all get critical acclaim and gross a billion.
Ian Wright
so what was zemo's master plan? a rubber mask? also did he know what he was searching for? the tape i mean.. what would happen if Bucky died in action with the German cops?
Lincoln Clark
>Again, a woman we've never met before talked to Tony for 5 minutes and suddenly his entire outlook shifts? He'd been heading towards this for the last 3 movies
Andrew Jenkins
how exactly? his actions in all the previous movies show he wants freedom to operate not oversight
Luis Price
>IT MAKES SENSE IF YOU WATCH ALL THE OTHER MARVEL MOVIES AND BUY THEM ON BLU-RAY FOR JUST 19.99 AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL RETAILER
Fuck off. Even if that's your argument (and it's a shitty one), a movie should still be at least coherent as a standalone piece.
This woman Tony has never met talks to Tony in a hallway and shows him a a picture of her son (that he has also never met) and suddenly he changes? Marvel has fucking dozens of characters in their universe and they still need to introduce a random new one to get points like this across?
Ryan Jackson
>Introduce Zemo Hey why is this guy angry? Hopefully it's for an interesting reason and not just because his family was in Sokovia or some bullshit >"Reveal" Zemo's motivations MUH FAMILY WAS IN SOKOVIA
mfw
Brody Hill
That's fucking retarded, according to you the two towers should work on its own. The empire strikes back should work on its own...
Ian Cox
>DCucks are still mad
Henry Martin
>I WANT TO MAKE ULTRON BY MYSELF WITH NO INPUT FROM THE OTHER AVENGERS OR ANYONE ELSE AT ALL
random woman in hallway shows a picture of her son
>OH SHIT IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! FUCK BETTER HAVE THE GOVERNMENT CONTROL EVERYTHING WE DO
David Morgan
Fuck off if you don't know how this works. Cinematic universe means you watch all the movies or you drop dead, there's no room to accommodate the idiots who want to be spoon fed everything every movie.
Nathan Watson
They do work on their own. When shit happens in those movies, we still understand why that shit is happening. Sure the plot ties in to the other films, but as a contained piece each one functions as a movie... not just a trailer for the next one.
Gabriel Gonzalez
>implying Tony's motivation makes more sense if you watch the other movies
Disney shills are hands down the most hilarious people on this board.
Alexander Rivera
Yeah this was the biggest disappointment for me. Zemo was almost interesting. Too bad Panther stopped his suicide so he could be thrown in muh villain purgatory in case Disney needs to wheel him out for a sequel when they run out of ideas.
Grayson Watson
Tony repeatedly tells the government to fuck off. His entire fucking genesis is a distrust of faceless organization... realizing that his own company was doing shit behind his back.
You're telling me he decided to turn the Avengers over to some fucking security council because of one death that he just suddenly realized he caused?
Laughable.

Jonathan Phillips
It's weird... I kind of want to post in this thread... but I also feel like this movie isn't even worth discussing.
Hudson Bailey
>you're wrong according to my evidence from iron man 2, over 7 films ago
His guilt was over ultron, and the kid was a basic symbol of that. Not to mention he wanted to be able to rely on the government so he could have more time to dedicate to his own life since Pepper broke up with him.
Adam Harris
You're glossing over the part where Ultron killed hundreds(?) of people and Tony realized his own culpability
Ethan Morales
*tip*
Nathaniel King
At what point did Tony realize his own culpability? In the hallway?
Seriously asking. It doesn't happen in Ultron and Civil War was the next time we saw him.
Thomas Parker
I think they banked a lot of Black Panther involvement hoping that would get this movie being good.
Only to realise that their demographic is white families so then put alot of involvement into the spiderman stuff, which obviously was good, but looking back now its nothing since there has been 5 spiderman films in the last 14 years
Easton Martin
I'm actually hyped for both spiderman and black panther, even as a white supremacist.
Nicholas Collins
>DC kills Superman purely as a gimmick to give the final battle forced significance, when we all know Superman will be revived the next movie, giving his death no really meaning or weight at all
Thank you, based Marvel, for not resorting to audience-insulting gimmicks
MARTHA!!!!!!!!!
Dominic Sanders
what happened in BvS?
Lex is pissy that there is Superman, Bats blames Superman for destruction. so Bats = Sokovia Accords.
Martha name stops BvS
and quips quips quips for the entire movie. THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH YOU BRO
ooh and also El Flasho
Dylan Sullivan
>Sup Forums is a little safe space for DC faggots to circlejerk to BvS, meanwhile in the real world everyone recognizes BvS is a shitty movie.
Exact same thing happened with Man of Steel, same thing will happen with Justice League. The Sekret Club of Sad Faggots.
MARTHA!!!!!!!!
Dominic Gray
fucking capeshit again
Adam Brooks
so ugly
Do you log on from the 90's?
Ian Barnes
>not muh win10/macOS kek fag
Elijah Cruz
