Bands/ artists who constantly wrote songs other than love songs.
ITT:
>mfw syd in the background out of focus
Tears for Fears
Roland said he specifically avoided writing about the matter of love in their first two albums
fun fact: there is only one real person in this picture, the rest are carboard cutouts. can you guess the real one?
I love this pic a lot for that matter only. It speaks so much.
Thank you. Checking out right away.
>I don't know the definition of band.
>constantly wrote songs other than love songs.
So 99% of bands? I mean Beatles wrote a lot of love songs but they still "constantly" wrote non-love songs also
Peter Gabriel stayed the fuck away from overt love songs for his first four solo albums. The closest he ever got on the self-titled albums was abstract songs like Shock The Monkey about the negative effects that love and jealousy have on the psyche.
Then he went pop when he released "So" by adding an overt love song, and it instantly became regarded as one of the greatest love songs of all time.
I don't know if there's been anyone else who was so based.
90% of music is about love
No.
4 non-love songs out of 14 songs in one album doesn't count.
This.
Why! Is it that hard to write about something else?
no its not lol
Wow!
Best contribution.
>4 non-love songs out of 14 songs in one album doesn't count.
Why not?
Death Grips - No Love
kek
What non-love songs did these guys do?
because that's not what we're asking for
>because that's not what we're asking for
You're not asking for bands who wrote non-love songs?
Maybe you've never listened to the Beatles before.
if you're not gonna contribute with anything meaningful then fuck off
and i have indeed heard many beatles albums
Dude they literally had an album called "please please me"
Which is spoiler alert full of love songs
Most of The White Album isn't about love songs. Are you both tarded?
The Beatles career lasted for like 10 years and 5 of those years were spent writing love songs you doof
yeah, we know full well that they had non love songs, but OP is asking for something entirely different.
are you being belligerent just for the sake of it?
OP here, I was asking for bands and artists who constantly released/releasing ALBUMS with non-loves songs in them.
Why are you even here?
Oh so, less than 50% of their music? There's a starter for you
He's not. Pink Floyd's career is full of love songs.
How about The Beatles then.
What's wrong with love songs anyways? Trouble relating?
Contribution doesn't mean anything you fucking smug faggot. All he needs to do is say 4 words to tell you you're wrong, 90% of music isn't actually about love, that's obvious, you need to get off your little high horse pretending you know shit about music.
>, 90% of music isn't actually about love,
Such as?
why are you here? everyone here is looking for something in particular and you're here just to argue
you need to get laid or something
>you need to get laid or something
Remind me again why you are afraid of songs about love
90% of life is actually love. Lmao not yours tho
go jack off to the beatles if you like love songs so much
Pop music maybe, but believe it or not, there are genres other than pop out there.
>go jack off to the beatles if you like love songs so much
That's only like half their songs though.
Like what? You seem to be making claims you can't back up
>it's an user thinks he's intelligent for listening to Pink Floyd instead of The Beatles
I remember when I was 13.
get a trip so i can filter you and your irrelevant posts
>there are other genres than pop
>you seem to be making claims you can't back up
You aren't very smart are you?
Oh did you forget what this thread was about?
I'll rec some things if you tell me why you are afraid of love songs.
i love the beatles, but they clearly dont qualify for what OP is asking
So you never listened to half their albums
We're looking for bands that never wrote love songs ever
he's asking for artists that consistently made records that did not have love songs. maybe you should worry more about your reading comprehension than my knowledge of the beatles
Then why'd OP post Pink Floyd?
I was thinking the same thing
>maybe you should worry more about your reading comprehension than my knowledge of the beatles
Well, since you don't seem to realize The Beatles answers your query, I do worry about your knowledge. How long have you been studying music theory?
>Pink Floyd's career is full of love songs.
From 14 albums: The Nile Song, Green Is The Colour, If, Summer '68, A Pillow of Winds, Stay, Pigs On The Wing, Young Lust, One Of My Turns, Don't Leave Me Now, Nobody Home, Take It Back.
Not going to talk about A Momentary Lapse Of Reason. That's the shittiest album.
Singles: Apples And Oranges, Paint Box, Candy and a Current Bun, It Would Be So Nice, Julia Dream.
You retard?
>What's wrong with love songs anyways? Trouble relating?
See and
>How long have you been studying music theory?
many years, about as long as i've been plowing your mom
now tell me, what other bands answer my query?
>The Nile Song
Love of the Nile
>Green Is The Colour
Love of the outdoors
>Summer '68
Love of the past (nostalgia)
>Apples And Oranges
Love of fruit
And so forth. They are all love songs.
>See and
Non sequitur
Answer the question
>now tell me, what other bands answer my query?
Well, are you willing to demonstrate your theory knowledge?
not to someone like you, i've got better things to do with my time
Like post on 4hcan?
You don't
...
talking with anons who aren't needlessly trying to evoke anger is much more worthwhile than talking with you, i can assure you
Not sure what you mean. I already have a rec, I'll give more if you give me what I want. Why are you so afraid?
Very simple actually. Romantic love is not everything in life, it's a huge part yes, but not everything.
I love artists who can write lyrics like,
"What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream.";
"You only have to read the lines
They're scribbly black and everything";
"And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon";
"And if they try to break down your disguise with their questions
You can hide, hide, hide,
Behind paranoid eyes."
and still makes me want to cry.
i couldn't care less about your recs man. if there's something else you want to argue about then sure, otherwise get lost
>"What did you dream?
>It's alright we told you what to dream.";
This is actually about love though. Love of the past.
So I'm not sure what you are asking. Maybe you need to work on your interpretation skills
Whats the real reason you don't like love songs user?
>"What did you dream?
>It's alright we told you what to dream.";
>This is actually about love though. Love of the past.
>He doesn't know the differences between romantic love, love for friends, love for nostalgia .
Get off this board you 14 years old pleb.
>This is actually about love though. Love of the past.
no, waters said it was about the controlling nature of the music industry. you're just making shit up
>Whats the real reason you don't like love songs user?
my dad was killed by Lionel Richie
Also he thinks Welcome to the Machine is a nostalgic song.
Of course you're a 14 years old immature piece of shit, who never even listened to Pink Floyd songs.
Acid Bath, Ahab, Arab on Radar, Archers of Loaf, Bauhaus, Beastie Boys, Beck, Black Flag, Black Sabbath, Blackhouse, Boris, Bowery Electric, Burzum, Captain Murphy, Camel, Can, Caroliner, Christian Death, Crass, Darkthrone, Dead Kennedys, Death Grips, the Dwarves, Electric Wizard, Faust, Foetus, Goblin, Godspeed You! Nice backpedaling
>controlling nature of the music industry.
So, about the love of artistic freedom. Nice try
It is. Did you read the lyrics?
>Wish You Were Here
A concept album about their love of a former band member?
Yes that's the only thing the album is about...
Thanks for agreeing with me.
speaking of love, i'd love for you to kill yourself
Don't worry, he's not going to last much longer anyway. He doesn't understand the differences between various kinds of love.
>complaining about love songs
>>/r/music
Show me one more consistent band than them in that matter.
Only actual contributors.
This is what Sup Forums actually is.
>Black Sabbath
This is the worst thread I've ever seen.
It got derailed by one shitposter denying that the beatles made consistent love songs, while only listing one album as an exception to prove that they didn't
OP never specified.
Please use your reading comprehension
