What did she mean by this?

I think my first project as a filmmaker will be turning Martin Luther's "on the Jews and their lies" into a movie

Best Nicholas Ray?

Also a lot of new users around here it seems, how's it going?

Gregory's Girl soon btw for those it concerns!

/lbg/ past I think about spring breakers and only god forgives

when meme movies would come out and people would actually talk about them

>Also a lot of new users around here it seems, how's it going?
Judging by the quality of the past few threads, extremely well.

Bitter Victory, Rebel Without a Cause, They Live by Night

Yeah I'm actually genuinely impressed.

Cool, like the selection though I'm not as keen on RWaC

can we change one of our answers?

Hey Neon Demon is actually getting a wide UK release

I figured it would be 2weird for normies and just in picturehouse etc type cinemas

Who was the flat chested qt from the last thread? Xenoplanet?

just submitted mine through docs

It WILL be 2weird for normies

Bigger Than Life is pretty fantastic. Some people do find the ending to be weak but it doesn't bother me really.

What the h*ck? I never heard of the ending being weak. Mainly, because, well, it isn't. Fantastic film, all around

Reminder that I will fricken k*ll you if you continue to post at nosaj the way that you are posting at nosaj.

at least from what i've seen, some people don't like the "hollywood" ending

Go see it if you get a chance it's really great

letterboxd.com/lozjudai/

welp it looks like I'm a #DickMissile now

Gonna go this weekend I think

>feel bad for Lozjudai
>about to follow him again
>he says Neon Demon is "really great"
well that's too bad

...

It's allright senpai we just have a different taste

Meant for

There's no way that a qt like you is here

letterboxd.com/steakbro/

i was surprised to find out that it wasn't my local "indie" theater playing it but instead one of the big chains

i'm glad i got to see it

Saw it today. It was good

Why do we bully other users?

because it's fun

only the strong survive

any other lb users live in nyc?

Because the weak should fear the strong.

Hadn't seen anything by Kiarostami before, but I loved Close-Up. Does anyone have a recommendation of which film by him I should watch next? Will probably watch Late Spring tonight as well.

All great answers. Based /lbullyg/

CERTIFIED COPY and LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE are two of the best films of the 10's imo.

post the fucking scene

yet still nowhere near top tier 'Stami (Close-Up being that level)

mmm puppet sex

Someone please tell me what I should watch.

dleted film

trash direcotr kys

What movie, though?

if you can't guess it from that frame you obviously haven't been here long.

VOD of The Semen Demon when? I wanna watch it

www.imdb.com/title/tt3966404

Thanks, I'll definitely check those out. Now I'm off to watch Late Spring.

Oh, Mustang. Thanks, friend

It was a pretty random frame, and very non-referential to the film

Very nice btw, 7.5/10. So many qts

excellent, interested to see your opinion.

Your mom is fat

you didn't have to go that far user...

sigh, I made it.

I'm already regretting it...

Wow, that was uncalled for

I'm really digging the color scheme. My account should still work, right?

A website designed for special-needs discord shitposters.

[email protected]

hit me up with a link

Why the fuck did MUBI delete its forum section anyway? Did something really bad happen there or what

I made a chan board and fused it with a social network.

e-mail me as I probably reset your password. You should also see your new Diary, which I'm calling Timeline. You can now log films without rating them! (button hidden next to the stars)

Board won't go live till tomorrow though cause it's late and there are probably a few bugs still. It's also a plain text board (for now).

Took me way too long to figure out how to install reCAPTCHA.

it was morphing into its own community that didn't necessarily tie into the film library part of the site.

I guess it was pretty random considering they wanted to be a VOD service. But they had tons of good threads. Kinda shitty that they deleted the whole thing rather than archived it.

What's your email?

Where did you go?

i assume invite-only at this point?

go outside

how can i get an invite to this?

he gives link with email

[email protected]

but I have a pretty strict no shitposters or memeing policy. I want to keep it constructive, y'know?

it would help if you have a verifiable letterboxd/mubi/rym/imdb so I can be sure you're legit.

e-mail me your lb profile and the username you'd like to have.

it will probably be a closed community for awhile. I need to try and foster a good userbase!

>r a good userbase!
Are you sure recruiting people from Sup Forums 2.0 is a good idea?

email'd with a link and all.
hopefully i can help a bit.

forums are nice as long as you don't use normie forum thigns like visible post counts, registration dates. they make forums shit. as anonymous as possible would be ideal imo.

Websites have to get made somehow, user. What seems to be your problem with him?

this

no post counts, no registration dates, no karma or reputation, etc. because then people will just talk and obsess about those and everything turns into a mess

the only thing you can't avoid is discussions going to shit when a mod or admin posts, but that's an inevitability that happens on Sup Forums too

precisely why I'm doing this whole secretive email + closed community thing.

I will probably never post the name/address on here. I usually advise anyone who helps test it to do the same.

it's still usable as a daily site, though. I've been using it to log stuff for 2 years.

this general is the closest thing to reddit on Sup Forums

did u get my email (yandex)?

...

totally agree. that's why it's a just simple text board, but linked to your account so there's some accountability there.

There will be no +1s, Likes or popularity rankings for posts. Every other aspect behaves exactly like Sup Forums.

That also means threads die after awhile. I can't keep an archive, unfortunately, as the server costs would balloon indefinitely.

hope you wont backtrack.
your site uses the movie database? does your site have as bad poster management then as, letterboxd?

>i'm too good for "cape-shit"

nuevo-culture bar-lowered shit-content-pushers. they're both idly entertaining the absolute scum of movie audiences with their frivolous movies. what about BADASS MAVERICKS like TIM BURTON? remember that intelligent individual? shit, man, he had a warehouse of specialfx goodies that they drew from, they'd build some awesome stuff on his own accord cause he's a fucking genius. and then they'd get some A-list actors, roll the cameras and MAKE FILMS. THAT'S the VIBE, man. THAT'S where it was AT. not these two culture-demon coorporations making green screen movies from writers stuck in their phony dusty pseudo-retro dying-corners. look at the fucking goof spiderman in the trailer. barging into the trailer for views. that's not my hero. shouldn't be anyone's hero. what losers you people are

Who that bitch in your avatar?

got it! should reply around same time tomorrow but no promises.

Yes I cloned their database for myself so it's totally customisable, but it's not a wikipedia situation where anyone can edit, unfortunately.

I'm trying to keep to a visual aesthetic that revolves around backdrops + thumbnails rather than posters. I don't think it will please everyone (anyone?) but I hope it looks good to some people.

I don't wanna shill myself too much here. If anyone else is curious just drop me an e-mail!

/dropout_bear

fuck ALL of you

I discovered Letterboxd through these threads. I only usually browse /p/ but have been getting more and more into film in the past 3 years.
