The joke about Nordic food is that much of it is white or brown, but it really hits the spot as far as giving you energy to work out in the cold all day. Some of the best comfort food doesn't look that great presentation-wise. What else have you tried your hand at?
Here's an example- Suzme Plov and lamb meatballs in pomegranate molasses w/ walnuts. Azeri food can be colorful, or not so colorful. But definitely delicious.
