Wrong. McLaren ripped off the Richard Hell style and literally told them to write their own version of Blank Generation. One night Richard Hell got into a big fight with his "girlfriend," and he got so angry that he attacked and trashed everything he owned with a knife. As he was smacked on drugs as much as possible, replacing it was out of the question, so when he went out later that night he just held his clothes together with safety pins and anything else he could find, accidentally inventing a trend.
Richard Hell is by far the most influential, least listened to artist. There wouldn't be a Sex Pistols with him.
