Be me
im in the army, but i know i would get a dishonorable discharge. One of the last things you want on your record, a dishonable will stay with you your whole life i think.
Idk, when you apply for a job, your manager might raise an eyebrow
I was in army infantry. Everyone i knew who got a dui was kicked out. Unless they were a kissass Nco or Officer. But yea. Everyone who was lower enlisted was kicked out quick. Idk about the air force tho.
Nah im in a critically manned field they wont discharge me and ive been in too long for them to just dump me like that plenty of my co workers have gotten duis just not underage duis shit one of them got a hit and run dui and he still got out honorably
Also. If you get kicked out for that shit. Its most likely an "other than honorable" discharge. Its pretty rare that someone gets a dishonorable. Unless they really fuck up. But ive never seen a dishonorable from a dui
murica and their cucked drinking age
Ha wow. Wayyyyy different than the army. They dont give a fuck how long you been in.
i find that legitimately hard to believe, but whatever. Kinda strange how you ask a question, i answer it, and you clearly dont like the answer so you answer your own question that reassures yourself
yo, when i reup and get back from this upcoming deployment, ima go infantry. Im working on my ba, hopefully in 2 years i'll be in shape for it and be close to being an officer. Do the rangers who were around you, did they all have 300 pt scores? and are pullups required to be a ranger? im fucking 6'5" and pullups are fucking horrible for me
Thanks for the uplift homie honestly if they kick me out i have a foot in the door for a job paying 30 plus dollars an hour washing the same jets i work on at the hangar next door so fuck it... doesnt an other than honorable change to an honorable after a year or 2 or something like that anyways or atleast you can apply for the change
Not necessarily reassuring myself just taking the clues from experiences from my peers if you were in the same branch then i probably wouldve shat a little but different branches handle things differently
Well for infantry officers. Its kind of like a right of passage for them to have their ranger tabs or some shit. Mostly all of my LTs had them. Im pretty sure the ranger pt test includes pull ups. And id say yea if you want to do well in ranger school then yea a 300 pt score would be preferable. But i think you inly need a 270 to actually be eligible.
probably wont be a dishonorable. Depends on how your shirt and CC like you. you might get off easy, but expect to be an Amn or an AB soon. Hopefully you werent overseas
Ive heard something or another about being able to get it changed. But idek if its true and ive never seen someone do it. If you can get it changed tho....Im sure theres certain criteria for it
Nah i was state side the shitty thing is that i wasnt even drunk just had had a few drinks but because i was underage and drank. I did however blow over the limit but i passed the physical part of the test ie walking the line and shit
Word makes sense dude also chek'd
ive heard of the right of passage..if you dont have a ranger tab you better have something else. dude i'll work on it man, ive got a few years. im 27 right now, hopefully i wont be too old for it when i get there. thanks dude, thank you for your service
Damn quads on my post. Thats a first for me
Okay, so it looks like the base has jurisdiction, ADC up asap, just hoping we're not at the same base and hear about you this week...
Too bad it was wasted on my shit thread.
What base are you at and dont gimme that opsec shit.
My PSG was 31 when he finally got his ranger tab at e-7. So as long as your physically fit for it and definitely mentally fit then youll be good. 90 percent of ppl that i saw go for ranger school failed. Not to get your hopes down. But its a tough school. Mental preparedness is definitelly something to consider. And no problem man thanks for yours
ADC up?
Area defense counsel. Its just legal advice. I Googled adc airforce and its the first result
Little bitch
I could be completely wrong but I thought they were pretty lax about military men drinking underage? At least where I grew up (Corpus Christi, TX), the dudes on the naval base could drink at 18 and nobody really cared. It's the "he's old enough die for the country so he's old enough to drink" mentality. I suppose the Air Force could treat it differently than the Navy though. Sorry about your situation man, but I think you'll be fine. Civilians have gotten away with way worse, and since you're in the military it'll be easier to work this out. My buddy in high school fell asleep in his car while stopped at a stop sign after he had smoked some weed and woke up to a cop knocking on his window. He spent the night in jail because he didn't want to piss off his parents just yet, but past that he only had to do some community service and the underage DUI wasn't put on his record. I'd suggest just being honest about what actually happened, but tell them that being married and serving the country at 20 is a really tough commitment. It doesn't seem like you were over the legal limit, but simply made a traffic violation. Any prosecutor with half a brain would know you actually weren't a danger to society or in danger of committing genuinely dangerous DUI. If somebody is out to try to fuck up your life for going to pick up some cigarettes after a long day, they're the fucking antichrist and at some point will get what's coming to them. Don't worry about this bud, it may seem scary and anxiety inducing but this is just their way of scaring you into not doing it again, which is understandable. I'm by no means an expert on this but my cousin was killed by a piece of shit doctor who was driving drunk, so I have a vague understanding of the law through that experience. Overall, be honest about the events that occurred but (honestly or dishonestly) explain to them your service and marriage led to having a beer or two and a craving for nicotine. You're chillin.
Getting a ranger tab doesn't make you a ranger
