Putrid pile is my husbando.

So I'm starting to get into metal. All I've listened to so far is Electric Wizard, Sleep, and High on Fire. Where do I go from here? Preferably stuff in a similar vein.

Mastoktor - Terminal Emperor

I AM THE EMPEROR!

I AM COLOSSUS

So, does anyone want to discuss anything? Let's say thrash, perhaps?

You can't discuss anything anymore here. All you'll get is 'mastocuck' or 'terminal redux'.

or >insert xyz.
You can discuss something and get good reccs, too, but you need to go through heaps of shit and more often than not it's not worth it. Can't wait for /nbbmn/.

Also, T H R A S H

>he listens to post the return.. bathory

>he wants "reccs" from Sup Forums of all places
>is also a /nbbmn/cuck
checks out, how new?

t. 2012 """"oldfag""""

Knowing the guys at FromSoft dig stuff like Nitzer Ebb
Is that a coincidence ?

>he wants "reccs" from Sup Forums of all places
Why wouldn't I? Also, we're not talking about Sup Forums in general, we're talking about /metal/.

>is also a /nbbmn/cuck
>cuck
Epic maymay. /nbbmn/ threads are comfy and usually sprawl a solid number of discussions, not to mention that you can find tons of obscure shit here.

>how new?
2016, knock yourself out.

Hello drumpflet

What are implying?

Astronoid – Air

Violet Cold - Desperate Dreams

One can only hope that the situation in which millennials are lefty nu-males while generation Z are conservatives can be mirrored in the metal world in the form of those just now hitting adolescence being trad/1st&2ndwaveblack/deathmetal fans instead of atmofaggery/blackgays drones.

laugh my cock off that they made glam great again

NWOGM when?

Where does technical death metal fall into this equation?

The trash bin

Steel panther tried, i guess. There are also people saying crabcore was the second wave of glam because of the focus on generic song structures and fasion trends, which i disagree with. Glam was just a product of its time and is only revered by this general

soon

I guess death metal would sit between black and trad. Tech would just be included within that because the majority of techdeath band members look the same as osdm members

sp is shit. We need serious bands. Bands like crazy lixx are not really glammy, too much estrogen in the water

Incantation/Onward To Golgotha

youtube.com/watch?v=CBt-mwGtvHc

We'll never see real glam just bands that look and sound like a corrupted memory of glam

You might be keen on Jex Thoth. Pretty great stoner-doom, heavy, sludgy, and slightly psychedelic.

Separated at Birth. An absolute monster of a track.

Does thrash still exist properly? I did enjoy Terminal Redux. But the scene seems to be quite quiet now. However, I am massively out of the loop, and reacquainting myself with it after a few years not keeping up.

The whole revival around 2008-10 was quite fun, but sadly rammed full of derivative gimmicks, with few lasting successes.

Did you hear this? It leans more to death, but it's a solid fucking album. Power Trip has some solid records, as well, but yeah, the scene is full of pizza thrash garbage.

>I did enjoy Terminal Redux
stopped reading right there

>
Mostly blackened thrash and 80s band clones nowadays

Speed and thrash are and always will be trash.

....I admit im a Ausfag who is way too drunk to have opinions

>speed and thrash are and always will be trash
Can you at least tell me why?

Indian Handcrafts

Anybody else feel like they're growing out of metal? I don't feel the same energy I used to and lately I've been listening to gay shit like power metal (sonata arctica etc) and dad rock. I hate being old.

I'm 25 and I still listen to it daily. Go out and explore a bit, then return back.

How can he be so based?

/meal/ help me find the band. I remember that they used the same artwork on one of their albums like Mortem ("Last Judgement" Jan Van Eyck) picrelated. It was a death/doom metal band

Any ideas?

no
it means you've been listening to wrong metal

>can't appreciate Metallica's early work
>eats up every literally who thrash band that sounds like a Slayer and/or Municipal Waste ripoff
Not saying good bands don't still exist but the thrash "scene" that I've noticed in the past few years has just turned into a hivemind of people who listen to the same shit as each other, while holding the same popular opinions. Hell, if you don't like Metallica good for you, but if you're in your early twenties and your first reason is "they sold out" or anything else not music related, fuck you.

Where does death metal go after Sweden? I'm new to the genre, but at the moment I recognize Death Metal to have originated from Possessed and Death, while the latter band was in California, and then they returned to Florida and kicked off the Florida scene, which then influenced Swedish metalers like Entombed who pioneered Swedish Death Metal. I love that sound. Melodic Death Metal seems too clean and mostly disappointing, but at the same time I hate how everything takes a turn into disgusting vocals.

Where does that kind of Swedish sound go in like the mid-to-late 90s? Is that the end of "old school death metal?" Or does someone else pick it up from there?

I get the feeling that after Melodic Death metal came around "old school death metal" was pretty much killed, and the bands that eschewed Melodeth became increasingly interested in being "brutal."

Am I wrong?
