tame impala's music is definitely enjoyable, but how can anyone say they're one of this decade's defining sounds? It's just a sanitized condensation of psych rock. Kevin broke out of it by embracing pop on currents, but his singing is derivative of 80's singers

Currents is their best record to me, but it took about a year after its release it to click for me entirely based on my own expectations of the record.
To me Tame Impala still don't have that "masterpiece", but at least for now they have a couple great albums I can spin
