I like to compare albums vs singles to racism classification and oppression vs individualism and valorisation of the individual.
Surely, a conceptual album can be a great piece of art on it's own but I think I see why you would focus on singles instead of albums.
Albums I enjoy as a whole, I can count them on my fingers. So yeah, I get your perspective.
