Working on a lot of new material like this. If you want to check out some of the older songs they're a lot more straight indie and pop rock. Be coming back here to check out more artists.
Hearing this live would be awesome. Reminds me of a mix between sung tongs and loveless for some reason.
I usually post in the bc threads, but I started making sjw youtube videos if anyone's interested
I like this a lot, it's your own brand of artsy pop music that could really go somewhere. Your voice is better than you think, you can make it a bit louder and possibly filter out the highest highs.

listening to our time is gone. that clash in the rhodes sound against the overall harmony is pretty ugly sounding and I think it detracts from the overall piece. I know you're going for nice voiceleading, but you have a tritone or a minor 9th in there, and it's really destroying the ambience. You definitely might think it's okay, but I think you might have over exposed yourself, the dissonance is really harsh and doesn't really happen for a reason, and no other part of your arrangement references that dissonance. If you really like that clash, you need to make the rest of your piece speak to that clash so it doesn't sound like a mistake.
I like the overall vibe, I think you did an okay job with the overall form. You had me pretty interested until 3:00. Adding complexity is great and easy, and sounds good, but if you're just going to take that complexity away at the end of the tune slowly, it kind of feels like we didn't accomplish anything.
Overall, nice

Good shit, I like Blur
I fucking adore your sound design and your imagery
honestly it's not what i was going for and in fact i never noticed it - i'll give it a listen in a little while. i'll probably notice what you're talking about, and i'll definitely give a go of finishing it.
honestly my knowledge of composition is putting stuff together that sounds nice, i'm not at all versed in theory.
thank you very much for your honesty! i really appreciate this.

dont listen to that guy.... seriously, he just goes around these threads saying "shitty voice leading" to every single artist he encounters. hes trying to make himself sound smart, but the truth is, he doesnt know what that means, and neither does anyone else. Your music is great. the ambience takes up space and is relaxing and pleasant to the ear. do not let some fuckwad tell you anything different when he has his own fucking problems to deal with... sainte kay out.
Yeah, so I'm not at a piano so i can't tell you exactly what you're doing, but it sounds like your rhodes is playing 2 note chords, and it comes in at 1:48 on a G and something else, and at 1:50 it plays an A and something else. It's that chord, on the 1:50, that has something in there that's either not in the key of the song, or not agreeing with the other parts of the harmony. And of course you don't need to know music theory, you're using your ears, and I understand that sometimes you can listen to your own music so much that you get used to these dissonances, even though if you heard that on someone else's track it would pop out.
He actually has nice voice leading, which lead to a separate problem. But nice try.

cute idea, great title, entertaining lyrics + concept, catchy melody.
I think the piano sound is lacking. It's really weak compared to the guitar sound, have you tried doubling it on another instrument, taking it down an octave, or finding a piano sample with more body? It's distractingly midi-sounding, unlike the drums where it feels like a stylistic choice.
I think the guitar is a little too hot in the mix (to the detriment of the vocals), but I do like the overall mix.
cheers
there is no sampling, i played it all and I am shit on piano. could always use a different keyboard. to me i thought it fit, i didnt get Midi from it all (and i tried some that did sound midi-fied). will have a tinker.
Sorry, I meant sampling as in a sample library, a midi instrument. If you recorded an acoustic piano I think it might be a microphone placement thing, or a microphone quality thing, it just feels a little weak. I think I would want it to be doubled down an octave, or something like that.
My advice, soundcloud is dead and full of spam, just put full released on bandcamp for free
im a little pissed off because i have shown this to loads of people, and i bet when i do double the keys an octave lower, and prefer it, i'll be pissed off that I jumped the gun. cheers.

New song out. This one reflected on my views on the world from violence to politics.
I'm not saying anything directly, obviously, but my influence was from the war on Vietnam (hence the name).
Anyway, hope you enjoy it! Haven't uploaded in a week or so, so I'm
hoping this'll get the same amount of love as the other tracks.

[Singer-Songwriter/Acoustic]
I know I'm not the best singer, so my main focus lies on the Lyrics and the GuitarWork.
I guess so far I mainly write songs about being lonesome, growing up, taking drugs and such and I would love some feedback on them.
Will return all feedback.
