Best album of 1996

Best album of 1996.

I re-listen to this album more than probably any other I own. It's still good.

Tourniquet is probably his best song but best album of 96 was Emperor Tomato Ketchup

Same. There isn't a single track that after 20 years I have the urge to skip. Nothing sounds dated and every track could have been a single.

Top 5 from 96
1. Long Season
2. ATLiens
3. Soundtracks For the Blind
4. Endtroducing
5. Live At the Jazz Cafe from D'Angelo

LMAO

Smells Like Children [Nothing, 1995]

Unmitigated consumer fraud--a mishmash of remixes, covers, genderfuck cover art, and titles designed to titillate and promote Manson's current tour. The lyrics to "Shitty Chicken Gangbang" are nonexistent, the lyrics to "Everlasting Cocksucker" incomprehensible. Only on "F--- Frankie", a spoken word number of a female's feigning orgasm, does it deliver what it promises once you realize that the title isn't "Fist Frankie" or "Fire Frankie" or "Feel Frankie". It's easily the best thing on the record. D+

Antichrist Superstar [Nothing, 1996] *bomb*

Mechanical Animals [Nothing, 1998]

If only the aura of artistic respectability surrounding this arrant self-promoter would teach us that not every icon deserves a think piece, that it's no big deal to have an IQ higher than Ozzy Osbourne, and that the road to excess leads to the Palace Theater. The deadpan production, designed to cover up the feebleness of La Manson's vocal affect, being yet one more item with which to flatten willing cerebella as he confronts mankind's amorality, alienation, and failure to have a good time on a Saturday night. My suspicion is that his banned-in-Wal-Mart slipcase job will fall into the haze of records that people found mildly interesting at the time. Catchiest songs--"The Dope Show" and "I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)". Duh. C+

Holy Wood [Interscope, 2000] *bomb*

Really productive post friend

I'm not upset at this dude's opinions, I just think he didn't get the music, probably because he's too old.

If you're over the age of 30 and still reviewing music (that isn't orchestra) professionally you should really re-evaluate yourself.

Manson is objectively shit and if you listen to him past the age of 15...I'm sorry, I don't know what else to say.

>objectively shit

If you only listen to "objectively good" music you don't actually like music.

musicn shouldnt be reviewed at all. maybe studied and dissected. but never rated like youre a judge in the olympics, thats a stupid endeavor done by literal leeches of culture.

>bomb
What an asshole

the lyrics are angsty teen, but his music sounds cool, OP album in particular has an impressively broad sonic palette, never repeats itself or gets old, quite a feat considering it doesnt jump genres but tone.

he sucks the cock of the stones, punk, and meme rap like nicki minaj
I think he gets it, he just doesn't like it
because it's shit
