Best comedy of all time

a better star trek movie than most star trek movies.

I barely ever watched Star Trek so I'm sure I missed a lot

But yeah great

Crackin tits on Siggy

I've never seen it but I'm looking for something to watch tonight so I will monitor this thread for a concensus

>monitoring a thread about a movie you haven't seen but want to see.
so many ways to spoil yourself senpai. why'd you pick this one?

I had never heard of the movie before finding this thread

Hide this thread so you don't get anything spoiled and watch it ASAP senpai

believe she was like 60 or something when she did that role
>you will never see the R rated version

honestly when I watched it, I just thought it was okay. I feel like I liked the start of the movie the most when it was basically parodying shatner.

I liked it a lot.

Tony Shalhoub doesn't get enough love in these threads

I think the best part of Galaxy Quest is that every major character has an arc and some closure to their story. Everybody gets their moment to shine. It's less about the battles and more about the character development. It's kind of crazy how they make it all work.

IS THERE AIR?!? YOU DON'T KNOW!

This scene always make me laugh as a kid.

Gets me every time
;_;

>tfw you watched Galaxy Quest when you were young and didn't realize he was supposed to be constantly high

Look around, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?

i watched it the first time when i was 21 and i still didnt get it

Is that confirmed? I thought he was just very adaptable to strange circumstances and that situational humor was the joke

>when they get teleported to the ship
>everyone is traumatized
>guy just screams when asked who wants a tour of the ship
>suddenly Fred appears, grinning
>"That was a hell of a thing"
>about the crew "What's wrong with them?"

Proofs that he was high?

>I thought he was just very adaptable to strange circumstances and that situational humor was the joke
That's the way I understood it.

I'd give a straight 6/10 absolutely no higher.

It makes the Star Trek rule (even films are good, odd films suck) work if you insert it into the running order.

Shaloub has done interviews, one recently, where he said he was uncomfortable portraying a character called 'Fred Kwan' who should probably be Asian.

So he pitched the idea and everyone went with it, that the character had just done a ton of drugs since the show ended and was burned out and constantly blazed through the whole movie.

I watched it with a friend and we were in hysterics at that bit because we recently watched TOS and were basically screaming out 1/2 the time that they should just be fucking wearing spacesuits.

Would have solved a lot of problems that happened to them.

Good premise, good cast, good characters, a few good one-liners. Not amazing, but overall quite solid

4th best Star Trek movie after Khan, the Motion Picture, and then the one with the whales

still got that scene of the creature turned inside out burned inside my mind
10/10

The Undiscovered Country>Wrath of Khan>Galaxy Quest

It's great.
