I've never been to reddit, so that may be part of it...
but as far I can remember, this shit was in iPod commercials. This is POP music. Enjoyed by the masses.
If someone who browses reddit has a discernible personality or character, then how can one of the biggest commercial albums apply to them, when really it appeals to even the most basic everyday people? Literally everybody enjoyed Feel Good Inc.
I like Albarn's take on pop music, even with Blur it was pretty clear he knew how to write a simple, catchy song. He expanded his horizons with Gorillaz, teamed up with some cool rappers (like Del and De La), and brought a more eclectic kind of pop music to the scene. I have no problem with this. It's all pretty decent in my books. Really doesn't deserve much more thought than that, though.
