It was left wing

*The Clash were left wing

Things that aren't true general?

>the clash
>punk
come on son

british hardcore and second wave punk is pinnacle punk, next are japanese and scandinavians

the pinnacle of punk is first wave American. Get fucked faggot.

get over it, dead kennedys, black flag and shit are all overrated
best american hardcore is poison idea or the accused

the pinnacle of punk is american hardcore and i'll beat you up if you don't agree

>The New York Dolls
>The Pinnacle of anything

Fuck off Christgau

Dead Kennedys and Black Flag aren't first wave dumbass

If that's true, how Stooges alone is better than any british punk ever?

>The Clash
>better than The Germs
>better than any CBGBs band
>better than Suicide

kys

>British Punk is the Clash
Blatant Ignorance: The Post

>british """""""rock"""""""

HAHAHAHAHA

ok Discharge were great in their own way, but still, Hardcore makes all that Clash mompunk worthless.

America > Japan > Sweden > Britain

wrong

lol no.

british punk was for pussies only

80s American hardcore was punk at its peak

I can't really think any british punk band that are better than those bands.

Damned is the only british punk band that is worth listening

>for pussies only
>posts the most whiny ass "i wish my life was hard" band ever

>X-Ray Spex
>The Buzzcocks
>The Slits
>The Au Pairs
>The Damned
>Wire
>The Undertones
>The Pop Group
>The Sex Pistols
>The Clash
>Not the GOAT punk movement ever

Christ these yankee fucks really are thick as pigshit aren't they

>implying any of those bands are good

britain started punk americans r just copy cats

If you can't think of a band better than the Germs and Suicide, than you really are a fucking ignorant muppet.

All the best CBGB bands were post-punk anyway so I'm not even sure they count.

>Damned
>Wire

Those are the only good bands there.

Also, Pop Group was post-punk.

Wonderful hot take you got there my man. Surprised you didn't burn your tongue as you spat it out your mouth

Why don't you go back to swallowing cum so as to cool it down. I'm sure your mouth will be very grateful

Again something that's not true. The Stooges weren't British.

>Ramones
>Patti Smith
>Television
>Richard Hell
>Misfits
>post-punk

Grime is unironically British punk.

Sorry I don't like your precious British punk bands. Chill out fuckhead.

What? Have you ever listened to Gun Club?

>Not liking the Undertones

John Peel died for your sins my man.

Have you? Jeffrey Lee Pierce kicked the drummer out because he couldn't handle the fact that the dude actually lived hard while Jeffrey was pretending to.

>Black Flag
>Bad Brains
>Cro-Mags
>Minor Threat
>Negative Approach
>Negative FX
>SIEGE
>Poison Idea
>Dead Kennedys
>Minutemen
>Descendents
>Gorilla Biscuits
>Circle Jerks
etc.

Come on

>any of those bands
>good
christ get some taste

Wrong

Explain me how that was the actual reason why he kicked the drummer.

Also, Jeffrey died from a stroke while was HIV positive, while also suffering from cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis. That guy alone is more punk than any british punk band.

>Television
>Not post-punk

>Richard hell
>The Misfits
>The Ramones
>Ayy lmao

I'll accept Patti Smith.

Black Flag, Minutemen, Descendents, Circle Jerks, and Dead Kennedys I can respect. The rest are solid if unremarkable. Also far too many disparate movements in there for it to cohere as a single "movement"

Also, distinct lack of women in those groups. British first wave punk was more egalitarian.

If you don't like Television you have objectively bad taste, bud

Idunno if British punk is better. It's certainly very close despite the United States being the originators of the genre and having such a sheer numbers advantage.

I will say that the reason British punk is *so good* is that Great Britain suffered heavy bombings and casualties from the Nazis during World War II, and, especially for the kids born in that generation, the road to recovery was kinda bleak and difficult. It gave British baby boomers an extra dose of cynicism and world-weariness that the Americans didn't have.

Look man I hate British punk but Jeffrey Lee Pierce was nothing more than pussy. He did all that shit because he wanted that image but that's not who he actually was. Watch this documentary youtube.com/watch?v=wcNAYIdgkKo

QED

quads erat demonstratum

Fuck off faggot. Nobody likes Television outside of the internet. They ain't worth shit.

>Television debut album was released in '77
>post punk

You know what "post" means you fuckin retarded?

NOBODY FUCKIN CARES ABOUT TELEVISION

>wah wah my womym

Fucking kek. get the fuck outta here tumblrina

you clearly fucking don't if you think post- in the context of music means "after"
post-punk started mostly simultaneously with punk

post punk was a response to punk so no it didn't

Ok I'll watch it. Thanks for the rec

Women can't into punk dude. That's why every riot grrl band fucking sucks

The only genrer british people did better than americans is prog rock

Meant to quote:

>no one cares about Television
>one of the most critically acclaimed american bands

Go brush your teeth bong

brit punk was always about fashion more than anything they were fucking awful lmao

Wire>Television

Tard?

sorry, but its not
