It's Toe Aids. You have four weeks left. Tops.

Source: I'm a toe-aids specialist.

looks kinda like some diabetic-related necrosis. Couple more weeks and you might be able to see your bone

You diabetic or something?

If you're in the ER already, why are you asking us?

Any history with diabetes?

its dry skin, do you wear old boots?

I have diabetes... But it looked like a bruise till it burst open...

Didn't your doctor tell you to check your feet daily?

It is a "hole" in your toe. Definitely. Treat this shit.

Without any knowledge of any preexisting conditions, we can't eliminate anything. As others have said, complications of diabetes is possible, especially if you've experienced tingling in your feet or numbness. It also appears it could be a traumatic injury, either an avulsion or laceration that appears infected, per the discoloration around the edges. Also your skin looks try as fuck, maybe moisturize occasionally. Has there been any discharge from it?

I check my feet daily and I'm figuring something tramatic it was fine yesterday but I felt like I was going to die yesterday and I've only gotten out of bed today to come to the ER. I've only asked cause this is taking forever.

If you're diabetic, say goodbye to that toe right now. In a couple months the opportunity will be gone.

Oh no...

Go to the doc, most likely you're gonna get that toe amputated before you develop gangrene.

Seriously, go now.

I'm here already at the ER they are just taking forever... Also I've found some honey that has a 99% success rate... Manuka honey... They told me not to worry about amputation... I'm more concerned with the blood poisoning

Are you running a fever/feeling sick? Doesn't look like it's gone septic yet, but keep an eye for veins becoming inflamed and red. I'm not sure if you'll lose the toe, but keep in mind your ability to detect any injuries in your feet will be significantly reduced. Hopefully you're not immunocompromised and with a little antibiotics and steroids, it'll heal up. Make sure you're getting your daily dosage of vitamin K.
I wouldn't worry about that just yet. You don't look septic. From what I could see at least.

Discolored. Kinda looks a bit infected to me. If you're diabetic it probably is the beginning of necrosis. Doesnt look that bad though. Wouldn't worry too much.

just put bleach on it then do an ammonia bath. it should heal up just fine.

You are my new b hero! You've probably just made me the calmest I've been all night

you're fucked.

Are you depressed OP? Have you been drinking alot this past holiday season?

CUTTIN YO TOE OFF.

Nothing a little neosporin and a bandaid can't fix.

Necrotic. gonna lose toe. take better care of yourself

I don't drink but I am sorry if depressed but just cause I'm unemployed and having health problems due to genetic issues well my endocrine system is broken

Nigga it's an ulcer

you'll be fucking fine. Follow instructions, keep it clean, dressed and stop walking too much while it heals.

unless you stepped on something or you had a longstanding ulceration underneath a callus you won't even get antibiotics

I've got a bit of experience. Not a M.D., bit plenty of 911 stuff and time chatting with nurses and docs. It's concerning that a lesion like that developed, I don't want to downplay that, but I don't have any real reason to suspect that it's going to get worse. Just pay attention to your body, this is a learning experience for you. You know what to look for if you feel like you did yesterday. Cheers mate, good luck. Keep us posted if it doesn't 404 by the time you get seen.
Also, protip. If they're not seeing you quickly, that's a good sign. Triage determined you're not in need of immediate care which is generally a good thing.

Diabetic here, I controlled mine to the point where I don't need meds,.
Started doing 2 juices a day 1 all greens for the am and one sweet fruit one for lunches, then I have 1 low carb meal for dinner, plus I do walk for at least an hr or 2 a day

Plantar wart?

fuck off cunt

Thanks y'all will keep you posted...

Hope the amputation goes well.

Hey I'm interested in what greens and fruits you use. I would love to get off my meds if it means just eating healthier.

amps are usually fine unless you have a really shit circulation, a REALLY high blood sugar, or have an amp done at a really inconvenient location that orthoses don't accommodate well for (better to get a BKA than wear a Chicago boot for the rest of your life in my opinion)

Stop wasting the e.r's time and see a podiatrist or dermatologist you fucking retard.

I need this explained better what's amps? And bka?

Amputation. If that burst is diabetes related you're losing that toe user.

he has necrosis from diabetes you autist

bump to help OP

Amps as in amputations. BKAs are below knee amputations.

I'm a bored podiatrist for the record.

If you're the OP, you aren't getting an amp without osteomyelitis (bone infection). Even then you can choose to do IV antibiotics instead for 6+ weeks.

You do not have "diabetic necrosis". You have a lack of sensation in your feet because high sugar strips nerves like stripping a wire (if you do in fact have diabetic neuropathy)

1 of 2 things happened

you either stepped on something and didn't know it, which means you need an x-ray and more than likely simple wound care

or you have increased pressure on that toe from how you walk and had a callus that eventually broke down underneath or a regular blister that formed in the same way

trench foot

While all the med fags are here, I am an user with a seperate question.

About a week ago I was stretching after riding my bike, feet spread and bending down to stretch my hamstrings and calves. Well, the next day, I bent down to pick something up and the area near my ankle and heel on the inside right leg hurt like hell. It still hurts a week later, it's really fucking annoying. I can rotate my foot, walk, raise my leg with no pain, but when I try to bend down and touch my toes this area near my ankle hurts a lot.

When the fuck will this go away

Pic related, the area that hurts.

It's AIDS

the only things that run through that area are your posterior tib tendon and your deltoid ligaments. Delts are strong as fuck and I doubt you did anything to them.

Probably tweaked your PT somehow.

given your ability to function without pain (range of motion/heel rise) you're probably fine (no tears/ruptures).

time is tough to answer because tendons suck. they have shit blood supply, you use them a lot, and it's tough to determine the amount of damage without an MRI

Give it two months to see if it is still there.

If it is the same pain level or worse go see a pod or orthopod.

thats an ulcer. do u have diabetes? have u been peeing a lot?

Thanks man, should I do any kind of stretching of surrounding muscles or just ice/heat rotations and rest?

are u type 1 or type 2? just curious. I was diagnosed type 1 about a year and a half ago. This thread makes me anxious for my toes.

RICE is always the basics. I don't think we ever recommend heat for anything.

You're probably fine doing whatever, but you can cut back on your level of activity for a week or two if it concerns you.

Damn. First reply is what I was thinking..
